Fandom Radio, June 25

Hi, everybody! Lacey Burrows here, and this is kind of exciting, huh? I get to wish you a happy weekend and not sound like I'm jumping the gun. Not only that, I get to wish you a happy break week. Aww. I never get to do that.

Workshops

Hey, it's a big thing! Today was the last day of this workshop session. For First Aid, it looked a lot like the first day, with a repeat of the first week's room full of injured people to treat, stabilize, and assess, but before that they had a little lecture from Hawkeye, or if you were Emma and Sookie a discussion about Karla's webs and telepathic tricks. Hawkeye was around to talk to, of course, and so was Alice. Ocker 101 met at the causeway to get hats and take a portal to actual Australia, where Mick showed them around some rock formations with paintings, took them to swim at a billabong, and let them watch the sunset over Uluru. I am so unbelievably jealous right now. Edmund wasn't, since as the TA he was on hand, like Mick, although it seems like he isn't around now; the squirrels spotted him leaving a stuffed crocodile in Vice Principal Deadpool's office this evening and then taking off.

In a similar vein, Great Outdoors had to gear up and face a rainforest scenario, only without the portal -- this was in the Danger Shop. Also in the Danger Shop were TA Blysse, and your intrepid Mountie teacher Constable Fraser. Arts and Crafts got a quick lecture in a room full of paint -- in containers, balloons, and water guns. This, naturally, meant a paint fight, with Didi and Del exercising a little sibling rivalry that way, Del and Ariel ganging up on Jonas, Kurt teleporting to splatter Bobby with paint, and Steve watching over the whole mess. Sounds like it was fun -- Del thanked him for a fun class, which backs up my guess. Dating, Hooking Up, and Sex got a lecture from Dean about taking advantage of Fandom weirdness for . . . things I don't think I should elaborate when talking about high school kids. Everyone had the chance to tell Dean what they did and didn't like about the class, and then there was pie. And Sam and Chuck.

On a much quieter note, Faith was just hanging out in her office.

Dorms

Ariel was up in the fifth floor common room, working on a love letter that Rilla was happy to help her with -- until she found out it was for Christian. Kate got to read about Ariel's date with Christian coming up, at least until Ariel's pen ran out of ink. Del was there, too, to help out with the letter.

Alex Karev interrupted Rosalind's report-typing to tell her he didn't realize they were going to be neighbors again, and that he doesn't see her getting along with a roommate. Well, we haven't had any reports of carnage from that room yet . . . unless the squirrels are holding out on me. *chittering* Is that a no? Okay. James seemed to be in a thoughtful sort of mood. Tim got caught by Karla, reading up about protocol in her world. Ben had an ice cream sundae for droid-repairing fuel, and a visit from Karla to hear all about yesterday's incident with Max, Raven, and Aphrodite. And from his roommate Ender, who wouldn't mind being a penguin according to what the squirrels caught of their conversation about animal transformations.

Town

Coyote Medicine is probably spotless now thanks to Arya's cleaning spree, like Turtle and Canary will benefit from Hope's cleaning spree; the similar principle goes for the junkyard too, since Marcus was organizing the car parts. Price was at Wellspring Arms making plans for the workshop he'll be teaching, and Vida had a strawberry theme going at Covent Garden Flowers. The hard work going on at the Arms Hotel today had everything to do with Mary relaxing, Sean was exhausted and staying caffeinated at Nast Sporting Goods. and Mina had everything squared away at the clinic before she left around midday to get ready to go home. Captain Algren came to see her off, but both of them and the dog who was hanging around got sucked into the portal instead. Oops?

Harper was working on a new window display for Things Reborn, and Kyle, George, Calvin, and Hiccup -- and Toothless, the squirrels are telling me I can't forget Toothless -- met up in the park to introduce Hiccup to burgers. How did that introduction go, I wonder?

Other things to wonder about include why Chuck was behind the bar at Caritas tonight instead of Damon, if there's really any truth about toilets flushing one way in the northern hemisphere and the opposite way in the southern, what Gunn was doing in the graveyard after dark getting snarked at by Faith about why he was being so quiet about it, and why this is all the notes I have for the day.

Really? On a Friday? I know it's a tough job, squirrels, but if you could be a little nicer about it? Thanks.

*thunk*

. . . ow. And since that is all the news, this is Lacey Burrows on WTFH, signing off. Happy weekend, everyone?
