Fandom Radio, Monday, March 29

Sam: Good evening, Fandom. I hope everyone's on the road to recovery from this weekend.

Andy: Yeah, what he said.

Sam: Tell me you didn't run into any of those creatures and that you stayed safe?

Andy: I didn't run into any creatures and stayed safe. Was droid baby watching all weekend.

Sam: Okay, good. Seriously, you're much better off. As for everyone else...well, I guess we're going to find out, aren't we?

School News

Sam: After the week we just had, I think a lot of the teachers decided to go easy on their students. The Outdoor Fitness and Strategy class met on a beautiful fake beach, and had the choice of playing beach volleyball or swimming. Jonas and Beka teased each other while they swam, and Mr. Bond questioned Rose about why she was late to class and wearing clothes that obviously weren't her own. I'd say that last part was none of his business, but I guess it could have been since she was late.

Also in the "Choose Your Own Activity" boat was Build Your Own Philosophy, where the students had the options of playing basketball or just hanging out. Raven tried to pick option C - meditation - but Hayley asked her questions about her powers and Joan took the class time to check in with her.

The World Mythology class had a movie day today, watching a film with a great big monster - a Kraken in all its release-needing glory. Sounds fitting, considering the monster from yesterday. Tahiri and Ben were not happy to see Jaina with her arm in a sling, but considering Karla wasn't happy to see Ben's arm in a sling, I don't think he has any room to be upset about other people's injuries. After the movie, everyone got to go outside and re-enact the battle scenes with Nerf weapons, and Raven offered to heal Jaina's injuries.

The Horror 101 students got to give the proper answer to "You just helped save the island; what are you going to do now?" - that is, they went to Disneyland, EuroDisney, to be exact, thanks to the Danger Shop. Jack Priest came by to talk to Mitchell about how they both fared over the weekend, and also discussed the stupidity of the people who went out to fight. You guys should chat with Chuck some time, I bet you'd get along at least a little. Kate made fun of Mitchell for picking EuroDisney instead of a proper American Disney setting, and Chloe talked to Mitchell about getting through the weekend, and how Ino's going to teach her first aid.

Japanese Etiquette & Tradition also had a movie day, watching a movie with a great big dinosaur while feasting on Japanese soda and sweets. And Ms. Perrault had office hours, which she used to shop on the internet for gas masks. It might be a good idea to stock up on some more of those, I think.

Andy: Summer provided lots of sugary snacks for Study Hall. Gabrielle was scribbling on a scroll in the library, where Henry had lots of coffee. They discussed the bad guys in Special Collections. Another weird Fandom thing -- that the most secure place we have to put bad guys isn't the jail but the library.

Sam: Well, it is a pretty awesome library. Not that I'm biased or anything.

Andy: Not arguing. But still, weird. Flight Club got to fly helicopters or A-wings. It was a Skywalker gathering as Anakin was there to advise, Ben was around but sulking because he couldn't fly, and Leia and Tahiri chatted about Raven and how she fangirls Anakin.

Dorm News

Andy: Over in the dorms, Merlin was clingy with Arthur, Alex Karev smoked and looked at porn, and Karla visited Dinah.

Kate was worrying about her hair and was visited by Bod, and got kissy with Leto.

Tara had leaves and a Kennedy coming by with dinner. Bruce had his droid baby and his bird girlfriend Jean who was suddenly not a bird anymore, and Savannah had injuries and a hovering K-Mart, while she was texting. Hopefully they were clean texts.

Sam: You're never going to let me forget that, are you?

Andy: Not for the foreseeable future, no.

Sam: No, of course not. That would just be crazy.

Town News

Sam: Ender was working on a report at Stark Industries - probably about the last week unless he was coming up with something even crazier - when Ben came by for his usual visit and, at Ender's request, told him some family stories.

Ashley was texting at Atlas Gym, where Dimitri and Rose had spent the night. Awkward? Maybe? Mina was packing a large crate of stuff to be shipped away from the MCA, when Shelley came down to the lobby to explain that she needed her carpets cleaned due to...um, waste left behind while she was a bunny. Okay, that's a note I never needed to read.

Andy: Apparently bears go in the woods but bunnies on carpet?

Sam: Apparently so. Claire had her droid baby with her at Android's Dungeon, Joan got to deal with a flower delivery at Covent Garden Flowers, and Angua had to deal with telephone calls and a mountain of fog-and-monster-related paperwork at the Trooper Station.

Liz got everything set up for the day at The Arms Hotel, Lacey was relatively calm at Luke's Diner, in spite of how freaky the weekend was, and Gunn was at work at Cabot and Associates even though he's currently a jaguar. That's some impressive work ethic there.

Alex cleaned and re-arranged some of the displays at The Magic Box, Dani was excited to be able to spend all day with the horses at The Gig, and Claudia was reading a book about a crazy scientist on an island at Book Haven. Did you not get enough of that last week? Really?

Karla was surprised to find a hot tub in the middle of Dite's Decadent Delights, but not as surprised as she was to see Max coming out of Aphrodite's office wearing nothing but boxers, and Lulu coming out shortly after to fetch her bathing suit from the hot tub. Sounds like Aphrodite had a pleasantly eventful night, unlike the rest of us.

Zack was in a great mood at Cafe Fina, and so was Momoko when she stopped by to visit and get some cake. I think that's what getting to fight does to some people.

Mirax cleaned up at Things Reborn, which just generally seems like a good idea after something tries to invade. Oz found Leda sleeping on the doorstep to Holiday Grove, so he let her in and made coffee for the both of them. Irulan opened The Imperial Brim and found that all the hats in the store were inexplicably upside-down. And Jane was taking some time to sketch at Strokes of Genius when Paige came in to get some painting supplies.

Ino had a blissfully patient-free day at the clinic, although she did get a visit from Chloe, who talked to her about how her classes had gone today. And Adrian made Tino stay at the bar while he hung out in the lounge at Caritas with Dimitri.

Andy: Does Tino ever go anywhere other than the bar?

Sam: You know, that's a good question. I'm sure he does or else that'd be a pretty sad state of affairs.

Andy: Maybe he's caught in the Caritas version of Special Collections.

Sam: Maybe, if he did something really bad in the past.

Andy: He doesn't talk much so anything's possible.

Sam: I think we have enough people on the island who love to investigate that if that's true, the truth will turn up at some point. As for right now, all I know is that I'm out of notes.

Andy: Me too.

Sam: Then I guess we're all set. Have a good night, Fandom, and make sure to enjoy the non-foggy air tomorrow.
