Fandom Radio, September 4

Hey, is this the radio station? Do I get to be the DJ? All right, Fandom, it is time for this island to get down! You've got Doctor Drake Dèmon, and I am burning up in here. Whoa! We are in critical condition, kiddies, but you can tell me where it hurts, because I got the healing prescription here from the big WTFH musical medicine cabinet. Now I am talking about your 50,000 watts intensive care unit, babies! So just sit right back now, relax! Open your ears real wide and say, "Give it to me straight, Doctor, I can take it!" How about we start things off with the dulcet tones of Rod Stewart....

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on sugar let me know. If you really need me just reach out and touch me, come on honey tell me so.

*chittering*

Oh, you want me to read the news? All right, I can do that, give me the notes my squirrelly little friends. And next time you want a shimmering ride to avoid the syrup, you can just ask instead of demon-napping me, 'kay?

Classes

Let's see, first up we had the first meeting of Humorous History with Jim Halpert. That sounds like fun! Introductions were made, and after class, Kelly volunteered to be Jim's TA. This was followed by a turtle -- *chittering* -- oh, excuse me, a girl named Turtle telling Jim she had a crush on him when he was a student here. Except he's not the same person anymore? Awk. Ward.

Engineering Math also had their first class, and Dr. Suresh explained what to expect. I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say...math. Introductions followed, because when it comes to day one of classes, that's how we roll. Studio Art was next with Mr. Rogers. Seriously? I loved that guy! The Neighborhood of Make-Believe, "It's such a good feeling that we're friends, you can make each day special by just being you."

*chittering*

Wrong Mr. Rogers? Aww, come on, guys, you're going to make a grown demon cry. All right, not-that-Mr.-Rogers told the class what they'll be doing, there were -- wait for it! -- more introductions, and then everyone played with crayons and coloring books.

Lunchtime in the cafeteria found Eric delighted by a special on pancakes and waffles. No one else was hungry. Over in the library, it was Jonothon's first day on the job. He even gave me a hand -- wait a minute, I didn't see any squirrels in the library.

*chittering*

So you're like ninja squirrels? The fun I could've had with you guys in the Underworld. I could've used you to sneak into Raynor's chambers and put itching powder in his robes. Where was I? Oh, right, Jonothon gave me a hand making sure the books on my syllabus were in the library -- hint hint, boys and girls -- and then he and Didi played with stickers. My new best friend Deadpool had office hours and got a package, and in the office, a toy wrangler was assigned to the melk-elkoose's pet. What?

There was also a Club Fair at the school today. People did the mingling and munching thing. Hannibal and Arthur talked about the frat and how Hannibal needed help running it. Alex and Emma encouraged each other to try out for cheerleading, and then Alex moved on to Rose to tease her about joining embarrassing clubs. Dinah explained the club fair to Jonah, while Fina and Jack talked clubs. Dinah told Fiona she was said she missed her being a kitten. Emma asked Bobby about his clubs of choice, and Karla seemed surprised that Emma was getting so involved. Eleanor mocked Jack about the food he was getting, then caught up with Diana, while Hoshi and Alex Russo discuss their club choices.

You squirrels are really thorough, you know that?

*smug chittering*

Let's see, the cheerleaders had a table, and Claire and Savannah dicussed tryouts. K-Mart was suspicious of the reason for Savannah's good mood while Elena debated signing up. Claire introduced herself to Angela and asked Sam to put in a good word for her at tryouts.

The Young Entrepreneurs also had a table, manned by Ms. Turtle, who the squirrels claim "had bells on." No bells were reported at the Girls with Guns table. At the Fencing Club's table, Azula wanted to know what kind of swords. Fiona, Emma, and Ellie all checked to make sure it was OK for beginners to join.

Cal manned the Fandom High Times table. Band had a table as well, with a sticky Robin available for questions. The Student Council table had information and forms provided by Barney.

Alpha Beta Gremlin's table had a multi-tasking Turtle and Elle Woods to tell those interested about the slumber parties they had planned. The boys had their own Kappa Kappa Gremlin table set up. Ben asked Hannibal if they're going to build a satellite. Karla wanted to join but was told that her girlbits made her ineligible, though they overlooked this for Illyria, possibly because she claimed she could change her girlbits to boybits. Neat party trick! Mat expressed interest in gambling, but Arthur shot down the idea. Aww, c'mon, gambling's fun! Francine for her part was apparently suprised by Hannibal and Arthur working together.

Finally, the Multicultural Fair had a table. I signed up, so should you! Field trips to the Underworld. Or...okay that might not be a good idea. Anyway! Karla asked Joan if she should sign up again, to which Joan said sure. Elena asked about food and was warned not to eat Worf's food if he made any. Now that sounds like a challenge.

Dorms

Syrup was raining from the skies this morning, but at least one student was enjoying it this morning. Calvin was out on the deck, begoggled and open-mouthed, drinking it down. Way to roll with it, Calv! Jack B. joined him and wanted waffles. Probably too late to tell you to head to the cafeteria, kid, but maybe they've got some left. Down in the lobby, Morgana posted a notice that Support Services would be canceled for the day. She was kind enough to find some umbrellas...

*pause*

When the sun shines, we'll shine together, told you I'll be here forever, said I'll always be a friend, took an oath I'ma stick it out till the end. Now that it's raining more than ever Know that we'll still have each other. You can stand under my umbrella, you can stand under my umbrella.

*chitter, chitter, chit chit chit*

...for those venturing out into the syrupy rain. Blame the squirrels for that earworm, folks. Up on the fifth floor, Tahiri got visits from Ben and Karla -- where are the details?

*chittering*

You were distracted by something shiny? If you guys want to be reporters, it's going to take dedication! Collect facts, get to the bottom of things. You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!

Afternoon found Hannibal planning for the club fair until Adora stopped by to tell him that Edward was gone. Hannibal consoled her and encouraged her to have a rebound fling. Angela Martin called home and then packed for a trip. Did the island scare her off already? Momoko also got a call and then got ready to head home. Arthur and Merlin -- AS IF those are your real names -- were in Artie's room talking about the club fair and discussing hazing and togas. That makes me all nostalgic for the Brotherhood of the Thorn, only it was black robes and paddles. Thank you, sir, may I have another?

Later in the evening Layla harvested syrup out her window to enjoy with her waffles. Claire dropped by to meet her, and apparently Layla "knows stuff" about her. Resident blackmailer? Do I need to keep an eye on that one? George returned to the room in a bad mood, so Layla fed him waffles to cheer him up. Liiiiiiir read in his room and got a visit from Shilo telling him that Momoko had to go. Hmmm, we've got this Layla who "knows stuff" and people hastily packing and leaving the island. Coincidence...or not? Dun dun DUN! In less conspiratorial news, Joan stopped by to visit Liiiiiiiiiir and to discuss cuddling. Awwww.

Over in the fifth floor common room, Sookie was making pancakes to go with the buckets of syrup she collected. Bobby offered her some maple candy he made with the syrup, and the squirrels think it important to point out that Bobby's middle name is Louis, which they feel is much better than Leland. Bobby was also excited to see Rose, who was apparently stalking him. Rose was sick of syrup in her hair so she was not in the mood for pancakes, but bacon and eggs were good. Ino wanted weight loss secrets from Bobby because he's always eating, Sookie informed Ino that it's never too late for breakfast, and Rose and Ino discussed the merits of bacon. There's always room for bacon! Ever had a Turbaconducken? It's duck and chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed in a turkey wrapped in more bacon. Your arteries harden just looking at it. Mmmmm. Ms. Turtle was appreciative of the bacon as well and was psyched that it was a non-radio Friday for her. Sure, call in sick to work and the squirels play hijack the demon, I see how this works.

Ms. Turtle informed Rose about her plans to take over the world -- or maybe just the school -- since she's running for office. Bobby told Turtle that Sookie was making enough food for a small army, so if Turtle's planning to take over, that's probably giving her ideas. Ino told Turtle she's got her vote -- bet she's gunning for a cabinet position. Jason wandered in to announce he was sticky, earning congratulations from Ino. Rose suggested a shower to Jason, he told her he's very sweet, and they talked about taste tests. Oh you kids and your hormones. Sookie was just hoping Jason was sticky from the syrup and not other things. We were all thinking it, she just said it. Jason asked Bobby when he wanted his porn. You don't have any vampire porn, do you? I've got a friend stuck in limbo who likes that kind of thing. Might help him pass the time.

The room was hopping tonight as Kennedy joined in to discuss world hunger with Bobby. Also, if I'm picking up on the subtext, she's shooting him down, too. Ouch! Ino and Kennedy chatted about evil twins, which apparently happen quite often around here. Kennedy and Sookie discussed the usefulness or lack thereof of boys, and Rose told Kennedy about my new friends the radio squirrels. Hi, Kennedy, you're on candid radio!

Down on the fourth floor, Hayley was having trouble sleeping, so she watched some TV. Hinata introduced her to mango juice, and Kyle wanted to know if they had a date the other day. Hinata and Kyle waxed philosophical about the definition of nighttime while Hayley and Jak have issues communicating. Hinata offered Jak some juice, Cal wandered in and asked Hayley about the joys of modern television, which apparently was Vanessa Saturn, as explained to Azula, and Hinata asked Cal why everyone is up so late tonight. In my case, it's because the squirrels are holding me at nutpoint.

Not dirty.

Town

Tony found Tyler all beat up and sleeping. Does that happen around here a lot? Do I need to sleep with one eye open? Jack O'Neill got drenched in syrup, much to his chagrin. Dimitri also got all syrupy and had to take a shower. For some reason, the squirrels here are sighing very happily so I take it Dimitri is hot.

*chitterish sigh*

Sirius and Lupin hung out in the Preserve, while Oz locked himself in the sweat lodge. And in her hotel room, Aphrodite was throwing books around. Hey! What did those books ever do to you? Wait a minute -- Aphrodite? Aphrodite Aphrodite? As in Goddess on the mountain top, burning like a silver flame, the summit of beauty and love, and Venus was her name? Really? Oh, I have got to meet you.

Elsewhere, Lily Aldrin started off her first day at Strokes of Genius, which I'm assuming is an art supply store and not something dirty. At the Trooper Station, Ray was on the phone arguing about an order of 2,000 bagels. Dani Reese asked him about a case involving two missing actors from the play -- I missed a play? Aww! -- and Jack O'Neill came in to complain about a lack of waffles. That's because they're all up at the school.

Chloe Saunders read comic books on the job at Android's Dungeon, which also sounds like it could be something dirty. Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiir opened up Book Haven -- I definitely have to stop by there -- and was started when Raven teleported in to return a book. Dani Davis had to hide her horses from the rain at the Gig. At the Arms, Mary reminised with Gunther about a pancake place with topless waitresses. Oh, where? Aphrodite stopped by to ask Mary about getting a pet and to invite her to girls night out, and Dimitri....

*chittering siiiiiiiiiigh*

complained about the lack of warning about the syrup rain in the weather forecast.

Elsewhere, Arya opened up Coyote Medicine, which is now hiring. Marion Ravenwood opened Caritas, another place I have to check out, and found a sticy bartender. At the clinic, Harper limped in to have Dr. Jones look at her ankle. Valentine was a little late opening 'Dite's Decadent Delights -- oh, now I bet that one is dirty -- and later that evening Aphrodite herself met up at the store with Dinah and turned her into a kitten, who promptly scampered out the door as kittens do. Aphrodite chased kitty!Dinah to the park, and was aided by Gabrielle, Lion-o, and Irulan in corralling the kitty and making her Dinah-shaped again. Aaaaaaand finally, down at the beach, Karla was practicing flying with Francine, and later Dinah and Azula power sparred in the syrupy rain.

Whew, that looks like it's finally it. This is Drake Dèmon saying good night, and may the good news be yours. Also, as God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
