Fandom Radio, Wednesday, January 21st

So it appears that some of you enjoyed my performance last week. This 'radio' thing is an utterly ridiculous process, but I suppose I can't fault your taste. Even if it involves reading to rodents.

*chittering*

And you'll know your place. Now give me that.

*sound of sloshing*

And stoke up the fire! Oh, for the love of-- I'll bring flint next time.

SCHOOL

Let's carry on and get this over with, then. In Leadership class, the subject was 'being completely in charge'. It's harder than it looks, and I doubt a single class'll settle you. Class discusses how to succesfully lead a society and now I'm wondering why I've got 'management theory' with that insane tart rather than this one.

God forbid any of my classes would actually be useful. In Heroing, we came up with... costumes. I don't need a 'costume', they're horribly impractical. You'd lose your head running about in a thing like that. I'll fetch my chainmail next time as well. Anthropomorphic Anatomy discusses freezing, which is awfully topical. You'd think this castle was better prepared for its share of winter. They examined some cells, and... well, yes, cells are bloody cold. I could have told you that.

In fact, it appears I could have taught most of these classes.

Sam is in the library despite the... what? 'Power' going out? Don't tell me they're running the library on magic as well. Chuck arrives to defend his good honour. I hope you were succesful, Chuck. These people seem to be as impertinent as they are foolish. Sam discussed Chuck's visit with Dean, which implies that Sam was still standing after the altercation. Priestly then visits to discuss drugs and other forms of recreation I wouldn't touch with a blasted ten-foot spear. Peter dropped by in the end to do things that should be kept behind closed doors, rodents.

Flight Club, which I imagine in some sort of girly bird-watching group, meets for the first time. We're all terribly excited, I'm sure. They all chatted and huddled for warmth which shouldn't attract a great deal of birds. That's stupid. They introduced themselves, Gavin and Anakin were about, and so on. I'm bored now. Oh, and Minsc, great warrior that he is, manages to find a way to stay warm. With his hamster.

Let that be a lesson to you, squirrels.

DORMS

There's more huddling together in the dorms for Angela and that idiot Hannibal. Kaylee, she who wouldn't know how to keep her mouth shut if her life literally depended on it, brings her hedgehog to Ned's. Again, thrilling news. John's fish dies in the cold. That's good news. You can eat it.

Leto has settled well and warm into the common room with a game. The first sane reaction to the cold I've heard all day. Dinah comes 'round to discuss fires, games, and men who don't wear their shirts. Dinah? If a man isn't wearing a shirt in this muck, he is probably not in the right frame of mind for you to be loitering about him. Chris gains some 'bagels' and 'coffee' from somewhere off the island, which is shared with Chad. Then they discuss pets and I really don't care. Servants. Let's carry on.

There's a meeting for KKG, whatever it is. They mingled, which I'm sure was as boring as it sounds, and ogled the calendar, which is more than a bit strange. There's talk of tattoos and girlfriends between Gavin and Ben. Whose handmaiden are you talking about? This is me feigning an interest. John and Teddy and Fraser were about. I imagine they were supervising or something.

Kaylee's up for something called 'cheerleader practice'. At least she's found a purpose for that mouth on her. Warming up is of the greatest importance, of course. Joan and Hannibal discuss the possibility of a sleepover. What are you, twelve? Then my manservant comes up and I'm sure talking about the idiot is terribly exciting on all levels. Angela and Robin discuss how it shouldn't get any colder. While we're being unflinchingly obvious, lady Brooke is cold. Ronon's about to supervise, and Johnny haunts the audience. Terrific.

*pause* Liir's falling asleep in the third floor common room. Hurley offers to get him anything he might need, and Amber passes by to huddle for warmth.

Yes.

Let's move on again.

Tony has some marshmallows, whatever they may be.

*chittering*

No, that wasn't a request towards explaining it to me. Just get me some more bloody rum. Dinah seems to have grown to understand the trouble with taking off your shirt in this cold. Good work, Dinah. Peyton waves to her. Is all news this exciting? I might as well start keeping a running tally of the most boring scraps of paper about the premises. Merlin, who'd better have looked after my boots this morning, cooks with Tony. I should also see some of this food, Merlin. Dinah questions him about the cold. No, of course, we'd never be cold! That's why we're those not currently huddling in dark corners with whoever happens to pass by. Francine brings Dinah some cookies. Again, Merlin, I'll be expecting some food in my chambers when I return. Tony appears to be enjoying them.

Of course, all of this food-related joy utterly derails because Merlin sees fit to promise to protect Francine from cookies. Merlin? Stop trying to look like a hero, it really doesn't suit you. Even cookies are out of your league. Edward speaks to Dinah of his terrible classes. I can only sympathise, but then I don't believe I've seen you about that mad bat Yzma. Tony serves Edward some of these 'marshmallows', which he promptly chokes on--

Seriously?

Peyton claims she's no heart for the cold. None of us like the cold, but it's not going to eat you. Dinah seems to believe the answer is offering her cat. Stellar thinking. She discusses wolves with Blysse as well. I agree. With this weather, there could be quite a few of them in the woods surrounding the castle. Blysse also makes it clear to Tony that yes, fires are far better than any of this 'science' lark people seem to taut as the greatest good here. Merlin speaks to her about snow. Smashing. Food, Merlin.

TOWNIES

Cable and Deadpool, which are, by far, the most awkward names I've ever heard in my life, settle in for more of that huddling and a fight. At least one part of this was mildly exciting. Charlotte and Elizabeth Taylor are warm. Now, I suppose that is news. Her husband returns home. That isn't. Pepper and Ray have a comfortable evening. Again, news. Daisy had candles. Not news. Sarah visited, and I'm not even trying any longer.

The clinic was fully staffed with both candles and Martha. Liir... comes by to serve her soup. Jeff is hiding from the boxes, and honestly, a stab or two'll serve you right to solve that problem. Turtle brought him sandwiches. With all these servants going about bringing people food, you'd think I'd be less hungry at the moment. Naomi is not cold at Stark's, but chooses to grumble about it with Jack regardless.

Edmund frowns over the snow. The snow itself is hardly a problem unless it builds too highly or obscures your sight. Although it does make hunting a bit more difficult, but that's half the sport of it, isn't it? Liir brings him food, and he worries that the snow might be building up to something. So far, it has appeared to be normal snow, but we should keep our eyes open in case some sort of enchantment was involved.

Again, in a lack of news, Sarah has no 'power' in the dungeons, but rather a light and a coat. Loki came to clarify some matters after the incident with the boxes, and Liir brings food yet again.

Claire tries to keep moving to stay warm. You should take a page from the dorms. Set yourself a fire if you're stationary. We can't have you all freezing. Cal compliments Claire on her dedication to work. I'll second that. It is bloody cold. Ino, the brat, came by for some clothes. I do not need to know this. Once more, Liir meant food.

Katina builds a man out of the snow. I hope you were warmly dressed at the time. Liir brings food. This has ceased being of any importance. He brings bloody well everyone food. Johnny lights a fire at Luke's, which no doubt helped Ino in her quest not to freeze to death. Savannah also displays some sense of duty opening Nast's, I suppose. Rusty comes to get himself dressed for the season. A bit late, don't you think? Johnny stops by to 'warm up' Savannah. All this huddling, you're going to catch some sort of horrible disease. And then there's Liir, who no longer requires introduction.

Amber copes with the cold by handing out... 'Snuggies'? I think we'd all be more served by distributing blankets, lighting fires, and making certain people stay indoors where heat can be preserved. Liir, naturally, came over with food. Cal also inquires as to the nature of these... Snuggies. It seems that they actually are blankets. Then I'd suggest you distribute as many Snuggies to the people as you can. Jack must have appreciated it. Rusty has acquired stocks of bedrolls and a fireplace. I would suggest that all who fear the cold make use of the amenities. We don't need anyone dying. Liir visited, naturally, and then so did Mina. Sunday's boxes were spoken of. Let's not.

Ino found herself sulking at Wellspring. We've had this discussion about what is and isn't relevant, squirrels. Liir, etcetera, etcetera, then Cal consults her about the tactical issues that might spring up should the arms be ransacked. At least you won't be wanting for a weapon, should it occur, but I don't believe the trouble has escalated to looting yet. Dojima also visits with an invite.

At the knight's barracks, Dale had prepared well, as befitting his station. Once again, the madness of the boxes was discussed. Let's leave it in the past. It'll be better for my headache. Geoffrey is casting at the theatre. Both Cal and Ammy choose to audition. Actors. The crew is present, as is the stage manager. If you are to perform, there better be plenty of blood in it.

Ammy and Issun, who I'll guess is her handmaiden, romp about in the park. That's one way to treat winter lightly. They play a game with Viki that I can't make any sense of, which lasts at least until a bear wandered in. There's bears here, then? It seems they survived the attack, as they were there to speak of enemies with Jack afterwards.

See, squirrels? Not all news has to be boring. More bears, less... opening things.

Much like... Liir is doing at Cafe Fina.

... Jack pays visit to warm up. Ichigo keeps things heated at Coyote Medicine, as should be his duty, and both Liir and Ino bring edibles. Unlike my servant, who'd best be outside with some food right this moment, or he'll be mending socks for the next three days.

The local watering hole doesn't suffer the cold as much. Again, I'd like to prompt all who suffer the cold to go there. It might be good to see the lot of you not freeze to death. Hoshi is eager to see Penelope, as there have been stories. And it appears Hurley has been prompted for more of this 'huddling'.

Yes, I'll take that blasted rum now. More of it. Was that all? Good.

*sound of sloshing*

Thank God.
