Fandom Radio :: January 09.
Good evening, Fellow Fandomites! It's a new semester, and it's a Friday, so you're getting an earful of Turtle Wexler Radio, guaranteed to be informative and entertaining! It's also practically an institution around here, so remember that when it comes to voting for broadcasters! But you certainly don't want to sit there and listen to me trying to promote myself all evening! You want to hear exciting news and juicy gossip, so I'll let the broadcast promote me instead. Let's go!
SCHOOL
Guess who has detention! Principal Winchester announced today that Adora, Prince Edward, Peyton Sawyer, Face-Spitter Stephanides, and Michael Van Helsing all have detention tomorrow with Mister Minsc. Yeesh. It's just the first week, guys! Have fun!
And since school is back in session, Evil Class is back, too. But at least I'm not in it this time around! HA HA! They still have the awful uniforms, but at least they're new awful uniforms. YOU'RE WELCOME, new gym class. They had to do the rope climb, and, man, who did scheduling for this semester and put this class on Friday again? It's like I have to relive it all over again by reporting on it. Oh, and they introduced themselves, too, after evil rope climb.
Care for Magical Creatures has moved to today, as well, and the first order of business was...destroy desks? What? Were they endagering the squirrels or something, so, to care for them, they had to be destroyed? I don't get it. Either way, desks were destroyed before intros were made and a discussion about what animals would be cool to turn into. I'd personally love to turn into a lion or something sometime. It'd be a lot cooler than a turtle ever single darn time.
We've also got Movie Appreciation on Fridays, where more introductions took place, as well as having everyone try to guess each other's favorite movies, which sounds like it could be fun.
Unless you were, like, from the Middle Ages and didn't know what movies were, but then, if you were in that class, that'd probably be the least of your problems.
And, of course, Student Council met for our first meeting of the semester; there was the usual food and relaxing supported by important business, especially about school dances and flower stuff!
The faculty also had their staff meeting, where there was some relaxing before serious business in the form of drug tests. Uh-oh. Tyler wondered if prescribed medication was okay. Mister Skywalker and Miss Atreides discuss Leto -- hi Leto! -- and Skywalker already dishing out detentions, because he's a hard ass. Right. He still has nothing on that Mister Vader I had. Anyway Mister Deadpool assures Constable Fraser that Principal Winchester didn't get false information; Miss Atreides points out an addiction to melange and so that makes this world hypocritcal. Should I know what melange is? Anyway, Tyler and Miss Atreides going to do a presentation on caffeine. I hope they include the hidden truth that coffee is actually really gross. It is! Miss Atreides is very vocal, but I would be, too, if I came from a world basically run by the economical and political power of a single drug, and she debated a bit with Mister Deadpool, before explaining to an appalled Miss Bennet about drug laws and testing. Tyler points out Moral Ambiguity Issues with Fandom as a Whole. Doctor Suresh wonders if there's a punishment involved; Mister Deadpool informs him that it's called the assembly. Ha!
Miss Atreides was busy researching in her office, and got a visit from Leto -- hi, Leto! -- who had lots of things to discuss with his sister, including looking forward to gender swap days and...no, Leto. No. Anyway, also busy was Captain Algren, while Miss Yzma was less...or more, depending on your perspective...productive, walking around her office in heels. And Miss Garrett was carving something at her desk; the Captain visits and it turns out that they're wands! Also, Mister Erikson joins the non-productive side by watching Rumor Gal with his cockamouse, and I don't think I want to know. Doctor Suresh? He's half and half. Flipped through textbooks, then putzed around on email.
And Buffy was wondering why the library smelled like bananas. You probably don't want to know, Buffy. Also, the moose is ill at the office. I'm not surprised one bit.
DORMS
Jeff and me had some very important franchising to do in our room today, since he's going to help put Turtle & Canary on the international and in-the-past map soon.
John with the hair folded laundry and watched TV. Jaina interrupts the truly riveting occasion to talk about classes. Which isn't much more riveting, probably.
Claudia painted up her room in bright yellow, a project that Toby totally approved of before chatting her up about the Force and hot teachers. Mmm, like Mister Petre-- errrr...THEN, Buffy, however, had some serious medical concerns over the choice of decoration. And Zayne has trouble getting past 'UM.' Can't blame him.
Tahiri was doing some work on her datapad and got a visit from Ben. Hannibal's attempt to clean his closet lead to a distraction by magazines, which probably made it interesting when Angela came in, if they're anything like the magazines Jeff pretends are not in our closet. Or maybe not, since all they talk about is having a whole class and/or club for kissing Angela.
TOWN
Miss York and her little dog, too, were out and about posting flyers for her new art gallery exhibit. Meanwhile, Hurley ruined more plants than he sold at Covent Garden Flowers. And Miss Dröttningu was a cleaning freak at Coyote Medicine. So was Jen at Pizza Planet, along with a side-order of making all the pizzas look like clocks.
Doctor Tam moved into his room at 25 Unicorn, where Captain Algren apologized and they have coffee while talking about adjusting to the island and Mister Minsc being insane.Liir brought Amber around to meet his father, aww.
Mary had to deal with a slightly bi-polar Gunther at the Arms Hotel, where Simon moved out. Not off island. Just to another place. As mentioned earlier. There's also an invitation for dinner poooossssibly. OOooooh. And then all those weird fake hypothetical children, ugh. And Mister Stark and Mister Rogers dressed in dorky costumes and sparred in the woods, which would be okay if they were, like, twelve, but at your ages, sirs, it's a little pathetic. I'm sorry. But it could be worse, because you're not wearing them all the time.
Ahem.
Anyway, Rikku was bouncy, big surprise, over at the Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center. Kaylee was doing some research on the Intrawebz over at Stark Industries, where, of course, Ben stopped by and she was thrilled to see him looking better. Yay, Ben!
Arthur has a little bit of quiet time at Our Lady of Fandom, while Detective Kowalski was definitely not having a quiet one at the Trooper station. Broken coffee machine and a squeaky chair! Naturally, Sheriff Cooper was very concerned for the coffee machine, and Detective Constable Day offered her chair, but only got the 411 on Detective Kowalski's date with Miss Potts.
Liir read up on dogs at Book Haven; stay away from Saint Bernards, whatever you do! Thankfully, I got to stay away from a certain Saint Bernard today because Chad was dogsitting for us at Groovy Tunes. Viki knocked over a display at Strokes of Genius just to have something to do.
Dor chatted up the register at Android's Dungeon, while the Face-Spitter should not be nearly as popular as he is at Luke's Diner. He spits on face, you guys, why are you talking to him? I mean, Claire is even kissing him, although Amber got huffy at him, which is better. Dinah was just bouncy and talky at him, but she's new, so she doesn't know any better.
Mister Loki was hitting golfballs poolside at MHA, which seems a little off season, but maybe it's never too early to start practicing?
Jenny did some...err...remodeling of the mannequins over at Pixie Dust.
Bad Alice had a hot chocolate at the Perk while waiting for Priestly, who told her more about sex ed than she probably wanted to know, and over at Fast Eddie's, Reno, Rikku, Romeo and the one who doesn't fit the name scheme are having a pool double date!
And, speaking of dates, Miss Walker cooked up dinner for hers with Mister Ryan, who brought wiiiiiiine, which meant that they're gonna get drruuuuuunk, and we all know what'll happen theeeeeen.
Mister Loki is helping out over at Caritas, much to Mister Tino's chagrin. He makes Mister Dex be polite to get his beer, and Detective Constable Day teased him. So did Miss Boxer, who wonders if he got FIRED from apartment managing, which would be impressive, since he's the manager. Miss Boxer and Detective Constable Day also got a chance to meet each other. Miss Boxer also helpfully reminds Mister Dex about the variety of support groups available. No reason.
Things were quiet for Ronan at the clinic, which continues to be a good thing!
And there's your news! It's been a joy reporting on all your going-ons, and remember! A vote for Turtle is always a vote for professionalism and experience! Good night, and have a prosperous tomorrow!
