Yeah, yeah, I'm super late, I know. Look, I didn't sleep w--never mind, I'm not justifying myself to a squirrel. Or at least not Leroy. Let's just get through this, okay?

Hey there island, it's ya girl Arden Finch with all the news from yesterday, where we found ourselves in Santa Monica, which seems to be like if a tourist trap grew up to be the size of a whole city. But we'll get to that - sorta - later.

First we gotta start with School, where Paintball was playing with fire by having our obstacle course involve roadside attractions. Cal checked in on me because of--well, not important. Anyway, Pet Photography had us taking pictures of fish, frogs, and reptiles, and, can confirm, birds are cuter. Daily Modern Life introduced the class to modern transportation, and First Aid: Extreme Edition covered drowning in the hopes that none of us do.

Nothing in Dorms, and weird stuff in Town, though the most egregious was a nineteen dollar smoothie. What in the name of the cost of living makes people think that's an acceptable amount for a smoothie? Anyway, Professor Vess was chair-shaming at the Infinite Consortium and I hate that that makes sense to me. I assume that Professor Scientia stopped by for lunch, but, as usual, the note just says 'I see nothing, I know nothing' in all caps, so I'm just gonna leave that alone. Kamala - hi, Kams! - was being an exemplary intern at Stark's when Eleanor - hi, Ellie! - stopped by with Squishies, which was useful because then Kamala turned into a baby sloth which just happens sometimes. At the Magpie Emporium - sorry, guys, I just don't have it in me - Vi discovered that stevia is an abomination which, fair. Doc Harley was scouting the competition at the Erewhon and I don't even know what that is, but apparently it's as overpriced at the rest of the town. Nineteen dollars. That's such bullBLEEP and no, I'm not over it.

And then there was a fight at the Boardwalk that I watched from Midnight because I am not a fighter, thank you. Learned that lesson already this weekend, didn't need a refresher. Anyway, a bunch of roadside attractions rocked up to the pier and some folks from the island went and told 'em not to. Both Thors were there fighting a really big peach and a big blue ox and Professor Beniko took on a ball of twine.

...

I can't really top that and fortunately I don't have to, because that's the last of my notes other than we're back in Baltimore where we're supposed to be. So this is Arden Finch, signing off.
