Denizens of Fandom! That was "Where the Long Line Leads" from Nickel Creek's brand new album, Celebrants, this is WTFH, and you're on with Steph.
How are we all doing this week, Fandomites? It was kind of a hell of a weekend, huh? And then we came right back to it with Classes and stuff. Man. Summer had Life Skills do a lesson on fire safety -- uh, better late than never, I guess? Not like it can't be useful other times, although I personally would like it to not be useful around here any time again soon. Thank you very much. Dwight cancelled Practical Wilderness Survival, and I'm not sure if that's due to, you know... fire related stuff... but if it is, that's a totally valid reaction. Sensory Deprivation Combat Training, meanwhile, did a lesson on how to get around in a hot environment without relying on your sense of touch, and surprise, guess what inspired Ignis to do that one? Kinda gotta love a theme day?
*notes rustling*
Yep, definitely a theme day. Just a heads-up for the rest of this broadcast.
Are there Dorms notes?
*sad trombone noises*
Well, you heard the intern porg. Let's get those Town notes, Leroy.
Starting out with the fact that Jesse the Mayor and Fosse the troll were out in the abandoned warehouse district starting cleanup -- wait, in person? That's some full-service mayoring. Sakaki and the Furnado vet were working out emergency protocols that seemed to involve all the cats, um... literally glomping onto Sakaki. Ow? Considering cats I have had, though, probably highly effective. At the Photo Hut, Prompto... oh. Turned into a puppy. Oof, Liz, that had to be a hell of a discovery. You're so gonna have your hands full for a bit. In Diaz & Ass. developments, Rosa is now a panther, which Miguel took pretty well in stride, swapping out the coffee he was going to bring for a raw steak. I mean, I get that caffeine is not good for cats but that seems like it would've been a risky move. I'm hoping the lack of a followup note means that said risk was calculated correctly. Summer did not turn into an animal at Turtle and Canary, sorry to break the streak here, but she did make sure Apu knew how unimpressed she was with his fire safety themed display. Uh, Summer, you did just... never mind.
It was a quiet day at the Magpie Emporium too, since Vi was busy getting cuddles from Saffron and I was doing a bunch of paperwork.
*chittering*
I mean... no? I wouldn't recommend it?
*chittering*
Dude, seriously, trust me, Saffron literally does not deign to let anyone else pet her. Ever... no, you know what, Leroy? You do you, man.
Over at the Trooper Station, though, Steve of the alarming love for workouts was way too excited about possibly getting to do an arson investigation and way too disappointed that arson wasn't a factor, and maybe wanting to investigate for it anyway. Steve, bro, you concern me. At the Devil's Nest, Tiny's tiny ski resort took up residence on Lucifer's piano while Eric made use of the axe throwing range. Gladio was there and shirtless, which should come as news to no one by now, regaling Eric with tales of his weekend of babysitting and of fishing trip horrors past. Stark thanked Gladio for providing his lunch in the form of Cup Noodle and talked to him about maybe picking up a reading habit. Dude, A plus, would recommend. Stark also got some dubious medical advice from Eric, who suggested booze to deal with his injured arm and then gave him something that Stark definitely did not agree was delightful. Reports indicate that it was kind of sludgy looking, but even if it was gross it did not stop Stark from trading innuendos with Eric. Summer gave him a little bit of crap about getting hurt again and got to find out that Travis went and got himself injured rescuing Stark from the fire. Who wrote this note in glitter? Definitely not Leroy. She also made a point of announcing to Eric that she's single now, and given this is Eric we're talking about, you can guess where that conversation most likely led.
And finally, because we can't end this without finding out about the latest Crab Lore Drop at the Clinic, Stabby has new crab dice and I am so proud. So proud. I am of course more than happy to help him figure out games he'd like to try. Stark also got a visit from Steven to check in after the weekend and also maybe give him a slight metaphorical smack upside the head about blaming himself for Travis getting hurt. Will, on the other hand, was not surprised Stark showed up to work today, just disappointed because he wasn't at home resting. Stark? Know that you're also getting my Disapproval Face right now.
Anyway, hopefully everybody who needs to be recovering is currently doing so. Not that I know a whole lot of people who aren't great at resting when they should be. Really. Until next week, Fandom, this is Steph. Have a good one!
