Fandom Radio, Tuesday, September 13
... that was "Magazine" by Pedro the Lion, it is Tuesday morning, and you're on the air with Steph. What's up, Fandom listeners?
*trilling*
Yes! Almost perfectly on cue. We'll get there, intern porg. But first, the School notes, if you would? Thanks.
...oh. Oh wow, this first one's kind of all chewed up, because Stark and Summer gave the newbies a crash course on the radio squirrels in Intro to Fandom. Actually, this note has "gave the newbies a crash course on" written on top of a line that's all struck through but looks like "GRIEVOUSLY SLANDERED", with about six frowny faces next to it. Listen, I think teaching them how to properly bribe you is fair, okay? You were not, however, bribed to not report Stark catching up with Summer on how her weekend went. Non-Deadly Heroics discussed teamwork, and figured out what skills everybody brought to the table so they can avoid a totally hypothetical TPK. Jaina randomized the Danger Shop so the Fight Stuff class had to square off against sewer lizard people. Would watch that movie, would not care to experience that fragrant scenery firsthand. Diplomacy had to figure out whether they wanted to persuade a rogue delegation to chill out on their weapons-hoarding, or just jump straight to the threats. No pressure, right, Anakin?
Nothing in the Dorms, so on to Town!
At Furnado, Sakaki was keeping tabs on the traveling frog band's latest adventures via the postcard billboard. Are they sending selfies back from all the cheesiest roadside tourist attractions? Important question. Rosa, the one some of these squirrels are kind of terrified of, was browsing potential jobs when Miguel brought her breakfast and a pep talk, aww. Connor was dealing with the dreaded paperwork beast over at the Museum --
*alarmed trilling*
Not a literal paperwork beast. No, I know, but it would've been kind of fun to leave people guessing on that one. You're doing great, though, intern porg. At Turtle and Canary, Summer had to deal with Apu trying to be all up in her business about her purportedly not-work-safe vacation pictures, while the less-new Eddie wasn't letting any boot confetti at the Fire Station ruin his mood. Little Bot was being a very industrious assistant at the awesomest game store around, the Magpie Emporium, which Vi assured me was not because he was trying to guilt me about slacking on doing inventory a little bit. Put that glitter down, Leroy, or I will replace all your rum with the bedazzled kind.
*aghast squirrelly gasps*
Oh yes. I will do it. Pizza Planet was the scene of some kind of torture -- oh wait, no, it was just Raiden singing, which surely had nothing to do with Rey wanting to know if everything was okay before she ordered enough Philly cheesesteak pizza to guarantee plenty of leftovers. The only way to order food, if you ask me. Watts was at the Perk doing some vacation planning and talking to Jon about adjusting to this century and also... literally evil bosses. Jon's, to be clear. Steve McG had way too much fun taking all the Troopers on a long run, because he's a weird, weird, man, and then went back to the Trooper Station to dodge his phone calls and also get, and I quote, 'spite lunch' from Danny. Apparently there was a ton of gravy involved. The Magic Box had an early pumpkin infestation that Eliot decided not to stop, and Jon came to bring him coffee and talk about class planning and cursed books. I'm going to guess these things are related.
The Devil's Nest -- this note is completely bordered in red flashing alarm light emoji, I feel you all need to know this. Why? Because Tiny was drinking homemade malort courtesy of Tino at the competition.
Oh my god. Why would you. Eric was smart enough to give that a pass, though. Raiden was there to flirt with Eric and also attempt to get drunk, because apparently it takes a lot of work for him to accomplish that. On a related note, Marc noticed Eric being more cheerful than usual, although neither he nor the squirrels got much in the way of details out of Eric. Leroy is very sad about this, I just want you to know. Jaye and Marc had a, uh, somewhat fraught conversation about weird behavior and leaving town, concepts with which I am totally not familiar. really. The weird smell in the place had Jaye horrified at Eric about Tiny and the malort, which the squirrels seem to think any reasonable person should be and honestly? I don't think I can disagree.
And finally, in the most important note of the day, the latest Clinic Crab Lore Update: Stabby was eating onion rings, and Stark was totally resigned to the fact that, you know. The crab wanted fried food.
That appears to be all I have for the day, Fandom listeners, so this is Steph signing off, but not before informing you that the word LARP is now in the dictionary, which is possibly one of the most awesome things ever.
