Fandom Radio - Saturday October 30th
Hello, hello! I have returned from my sojourn as a plant. Hopefully I was not terribly missed for last week's radio broadcast.
*chittering*
Oh. Oh no. I may have people after me in that case. Well, um. Let us begin! Before they know I am here to be yelled at.
At the school we had the usual classes with How To Be A Chocobro instructing their students in crafting a costume for the weekend. Superheroing 101 also discussed costuming, though it appears it also connects to the subject matter. Teamwork granted their students the day to go to the carnival with the caveat that they dunk Clint as a team building exercise. Alara broke into Sidon's office, but was not rewarded with the correct hatchet according to these notes. Better luck next time, Alara!
In town, Goose was busy doing laundry as he lacks enough clothing to get through the week without doing so should an accident occur. Well, that's easily rectified at least! Rey continued her usual training at her warehouse with a remarkably chipper Anakin stopping in to discuss how he cheats at the carnival. Over at Covent Garden, Yasha was struggling to figure out how to carve a pumpkin with a great sword and oh I have many questions, but also wish I could have seen this for myself as it sounds like some sort of knightly challenge given out to prune down the crowd. Lucifer was purchasing a club of his own over the phone while at the Devil's Nest. At the Hotel, Mary was busy getting things in order for both the holiday and any guests arriving for the weekend.
But most importantly of all, there was the Carnival! Where there were Kissing Booths. Which were quite popular it seems. Dwight who was apparently blaming the poor, innocent squirrels for thisturn of events had Irene stop in to give him a kiss on the cheek. Eliot also stopped in to say this didn't seem like a thing Dwight would do. Miguel took a break from being pied in order to tease him a but as well. Margo also had her booth where a mildly confused Jon happened by to donate to the cause as it were. Irene took a break from having pies tossed at her to flirt with Margo with a donation to the school. Eliot exchanged a kiss for a coffee before the subject of Jon was raised between them.
Prompto had a bit of trepidation for his booth, but was there nonetheless! Liz stopped by to discuss how things compared between their student days on island and then they were, and I quote the squirrels here, adorably awkward about kissing. Oh no, they're starting on the glitter flags it seems. Eliot also swung by to enjoy how flustered Prompto was about the prospect of a kiss. Troy and Astrid apparently decided to share a booth between them as a two for the price of one, it would seem. Alara was forced to ask how this might work and the squirrels were terribly interested in that as well.
We also had the Dunk Tanks for people to enjoy. Starting off with Anakin who greatly annoyed Stark with his cheating using magical space powers. Liz was almost surprised to see him still there and still working at the dunk tank. Faye distracted him, however, allowing Stark to get a ball thrown and Anakin dunked without any cheating. Jo checked to make certain she couldn't be punished for participating in attempting to dunk a school official. Atton also managed to dunk him before being strong armed into accepting a room to stay for the weekend. Jaina also dunked him with a bit more brute force according to these notes. Rey questioned the morality of cheating with magic space powers. But if it's for charity, I think it might be okay.
Clint also had a tank with Steve with the shoulders gleefully setting up to dunk him while his loving wife, Kitty did the same. Gladio was shirtless and ready in his tank before encouraging Billy to dunk him. Which seems very nice of him, all things considered. Eliot also stopped by to admire the view and also dunk him. Reasonable, I must say.
Jon was shocked to find himself signed up for the dunk tank, but dutifully fulfilled the role. Dwight was surprised to see him there and they compared how they were signed up by mysterious forces for their respective booths. Eliot was gleeful to see him at a dunking booth before complimenting his new haircut. Jo made sure to confirm with him that this would not affect her report card for participating in. Liz let him know that Anakin had apparently been doing the dunk tank at the carnival for over fourteen years now and I have to say he does not look that old. Rosa was also at her tank when Kitty arrived to dunk her in the name of friendship. Eliot re-introduced himself to her before throwing a ball to dunk her. Which seems like a rather memorable introduction.
There was the Pie Tossing... I hope they're not terribly intricate pies in that case. Let's start out with Zoe who filled Jo with some trepidation once again. Amaya was very much ready for pies to be lobbed at her, utensils in hand. Dwight was impressed that the pies weren't made with shaving cream, much to Amaya and my concern, and wondered if he ought to sign up for this one next time around. Irene questioned why Amaya might have done this to herself on purpose, though admitted it was better than being dunked. Ignis, on the other hand, found himself signed up for this booth, though he also admirably fulfilled the role provided to him. Eliot complimented him on his fashion choices before promptly ruining it with a pie. Goose was prepared for the pie tossing by not wearing his shirt. Which is one way of going about it, I must agree! A terribly embarrassed Jo tossed a pie at him, as did Alara. Jon shared his misfortune of being assigned to the dunk tanks with him.
Irene changed her clothes before taking her spot at her pie tossing booth. Dwight and her questioned if anyone really signed themselves up for any of these booths. Kitty showed a good amount of glee over being able to toss a pie at her friend, Irene. Eliot questioned whether or not he ought to toss a pie at her on Margo's behalf. Miguel continued the fine tradition of shirtlessness and not being terribly enthused to be at his pie tossing booth. Which was probably why he dodged the pies tossed by Dwight, but not the one from Rosa. Steph--our new-comer to town--was also there to participate in the pies... being thrown at her. Terrible sorry, Steph. She met Liz and suggested a before and after photo to really commemorate the moment. Miguel also took a moment to meet her before offering a warning about the squirrels here.
Over at the set up Food and Drink, Stark and Faye wondered if they should be nervous about not having been forcibly signed up for anything. Which seems like a fair concern here. At the Tables, people were able to sit and watch the festival go on around them. Such as Eliot who assured Billy that the outdoors was the smoking section of the place. And then Jon who checked in on how his day was going so far. There were also Rides and Games, though the strength test seemed to be the most popular with Alara, Miguel, and Annie giving it a try.
And... that is it. Goodness, that was a busy carnival, wasn't it? Well, hopefully everyone has a lovely time at the dance tonight! This has been Jaskier, your resident troubadour and not a potted plant, bringing you the news of yesterday, today. Fare thee well!
