Fandom Radio: Friday, August 28th.
Morning, everyone. Amaya Blackstone here, filling in for Sum--
*chitters*
How should I know? She asked me, I said yes, and that was that, because unlike some people, I know how to keep my nose out of other people's business.
*chitters*
Yes, I know I'm still reading radio, but I'm doing as a favor, that's hardly the same thing. Now, do you mind?
*grumbling chitters*
...thank you. Anyway, as I was saying, Amaya Blackstone here, filling in for Summer this morning, and here's your notes from yesterday.
It's break week, which means nothing much going around the SCHOOL or DORMS, and everything's pretty much focused around that event at Caritas, but we'll get to that after a few other straggling TOWN notes, such as Iris checking in on things at Pick your Poison, Seivarden checking in with me about a table at the Forge, Summer checking in with Barry at his warehouse about a date--well, I think you've got your answer there, Leroy--and Eric checking in on Tiny at the Devil's Nest before heading on over to all the fuss at Caritas.
Which was a showing of the Petey Scifi Talky Picture movie, although mostly everyone seemed to be much more into the socialization before hand. Rosa and Kitty complimented each other's outfits, or in this case, probably lack thereof, and there's probably going to be a lot of that in these notes, I'm guessing, but Rosa's also convinced that Miguel pulled off the gold shorts better than Steve. There might be a bias there, though, and I have literally no horse in this fight.
Kitty complimented Tony on his skill in walking in high heels despite his forgetting just how hard it was before he showed her pictures of his past Petey SciFi excursions. But his last high heel venture wasn't that long ago, as he reminisced with Steve about last Halloween and told him this movie was definitely better experienced than explained.
Jaskier was pleasantly surprised about the whole thing, and while he couldn't offer Rey much of explanation about it, he could offer her Absolut Pleasure.
...
So. Steve assured Kitty that he didn't usually wear tiny gold shorts and he was excited about the dancing later, before bonding with Miguel over their mutual tiny gold shorts and the possibility of using them as future leverage. Steve also assured Liam it was probably okay he'd skipped the costume, because there were enough men in tiny gold shorts that night, which the squirrels noted there could never be enough men in tiny gold shorts, which I am making very clear is a note written by the squirrels.
Eleanor was disappointed by the amount of old people, much to Kitty's chagrin, so she suggested Eleanor just call some friends, which included Tahani, who didn't quite meet Eleanor's definition of 'trashy,' but who didn't have to be the designated walker that evening, Rey, who was already there, but got filled in on what the whole show was all about, which did the opposite of making her feel better about it all, Mae, who also got a rundown on the show and bonded with Eleanor about being trash-party mammals, and Astrid, who promised to drag Eleanor away if she started making out with any guys in lingerie and to not tell Wayne that that--
--zards. You know, squirrels, if someone's talking about promising not to tell someone something, maybe that's a good sign to not include it in the notes? Hmm? Maybe think about it.
Anyway, Lucifer's French maid costume was a big hit, although he was disappointed to find out that Kitty's sequins were likely to be transfered by magic rather than by being handsy--
--Summer, I swear, if you didn't owe me before--
*clears throat*
Eleanor at least thought it was weird, but the snickering from the squirrels is informing me that that's not necessarily in a good way, and Jaskier complimenting Lucifer's clothes led to talk of removing Jaskier's.
....
*siiiiigh*
Eric joined the tiny gold shorts brigage and said Steve didn't look entirely ridiculous, which was...nice? and then explained to Jaskier that the shorts are in tribute to a character in the movie who doesn't wear them as well as he does. Since, apparently, as he told Kitty, they're his usual Thursday attire. Lucifer and Eric talked about the size of...of those shorts, please just let me say it's the size of his shorts...and Eleanor just wanted alcohol for her eyes.
...
Mae had a very large drink that Yasha wasn't so sure Mae could finish, which lead to Mae proving she could and instantly regretting it. Yasha, who didn't realize there was an event going on, but she did get to meet Kitty and explain to Jaskier that it all seemed a little too 'colorful' for her tastes. I'm assuming quotes in there because then I could actually sympathize, and Liam brought her over a beer, and 'complimented' her on her 'timing' for a bar night. And, yes, those are more 'quotes.'
Mae complimented Astrid's costume before telling her about some screaming music called Witchdagger, and Stark came in to tentatively check it out and Kitty got him a drink and a rundown over what the event was about. Liam was there to potentially talk to new people, or just with people he already knew, like Rey, who offered up tidbits of details about the event as she'd been able to pick up thus far, and Stark, who he chatted with out their mutual inexperience with the movie. Mike, meanwhile, mostly just stopped in to talk to Kitty about his heading out, so he got to enjoy the show while taking care of that.
And that, thank the stars, is the final note, so I'm going to finish this up and remind myself to remember what's going on in town before agreeing to cover again.
