Fandom Radio, Thursday (10/31)

Keyleth: Soooooooo, how's everyone doing today, Fandom? Also, happy Halloween? Since I guess that's a thing?

Beau: I still think holidays here are weird. How about that [BEEP]in' leadup to it though, huh?

Keyleth: Okay, you're way too happy about that.

Beau: What? Yesterday was fun. There was a clown at my birthday once when I was a kid, there was a whole -- this was cathartic, if you get me.

Keyleth: Sure. So, what happened in School news yesterday? Well, Ethics talked about people's view on the ethics of violence, and where we draw the line personally. That was nice timing, huh? So You Want to Be a Pirate? got really into the Halloween spirit with a spooky ship setting for class and also a lecture about ghost ships. And Elisabeth was holed up in the library with a broom after surviving a trip into town for coffee and -- oh no, are you okay?

Beau: You know she can't actually, like, answer you right now, right?

Keyleth: It's the gesture that counts, okay? By the way, in case any of you didn't know there were a bunch of evil clowns around yesterday? There were a bunch of evil clowns around yesterday, including around the Dorms, and Trevor was out on the lawn getting ready for a fight with some clowns that were really, really slow, like he talked about with Sabine. Okuyasu looked like he was doing some dance for no apparent reason, and offering to bring some of the really slow clowns closer. Instead of them hiding behind bushes, apparently? Also they determined that the clowns were not vampires. Good to know!

Beau: Aren't you all glad you know that now. Town was pretty busy, no surprise because [BEEP]ING CREEPY-[BEEP] SLOW-[BEEP] CLOWNS. Peter didn't even bother opening Covent Garden Flowers, and I'd say that was a questionable business decision except he was encouraging phone orders. Man, hope nobody wanted same-day delivery on that yesterday, because yiiiiiiiiikes. Over at Turtle and Canary there were some disturbing clown-themed flavors in the Squishy machine. Shunsui had to taste them to determine that yeah, they actually ... tasted ... funny ... gods [BEEP] it, I hate this. Then there was -- oh, this is a good one -- Kathy over at Dite's Decadent Delights cleaning up clown blood from the front of the store after she clubbed one to death with a giant dildo and this totally makes up for the last note. Iris was running around on the rooftops, which is an excellent pastime, I have to say, but dropped in -- heh -- to meet Kathy and her dog Ronin.

Keyleth: I kind of -- I don't get why that was so funny, but ...

Beau: Don't worry about it. Regina was all excited about figuring out what went wrong with a curse at Luke's, and then kinda dumped the diner on Duke and literally disappeared. So congrats on your new business ownership, I guess, Duke? Kathy told him that was how she ended up running her store. So, like, if you are like super allergic to the concept of running a business, maybe don't go to any of the ones here if you really don't want to risk it. Anyway, they ended up having to fight clowns, big [BEEP]in' surprise, and he ended up having some kind of freakout after Kathy's blood splattered him? Amaya was at the Forge offering free weapon rentals, probably a smart move.

The squirrels aren't so sure it was a smart move for Octavia to be making a whole bunch of noise to get the clowns' attention. Considering how many of us turned up to join that party, I think the squirrels are wrong about that. Magnus brought her coffee, and then there was clown-stabbing. She got to meet Rosa, who was also out on patrol, but not super happy about Duke saying they were axe twins. She let him borrow her gun anyway because, you know. Murder clowns. That kind of [BEEP]. Verity and Rosa agreed they were having a great time, plus Rosa told spider-dude they were attacking because they were evil murder clowns. My staff buddy Rey teamed up with Octavia to take out some clowns, and so did Duke, who was just trying to get home, but Fandom when it's having one of its special days, man. Also he's all like tall and stuff, so Verity decided she was gonna go home and put on heels. Except she found out Duke knows how to tango, and look, those clowns were slow as [BEEP], it was totally not unreasonable for her to want to find out how good he is at it. Sometimes you just have to know [BEEP] right the [BEEP] now.

Keyleth: I can't really argue with that.

Beau: Peter made sure Duke was doing okay and also found out he got a diner for free. The spider-dude showed up and almost got shot by Duke, and that would've been awkward since it's actually Miguel. Verity was out shooting clowns and also trying to make sure Octavia was staying hydrated, and -- you're using a flask for water, Verity? That kinda hurts me in my soul. Seivarden was out shooting clowns, because if you were gonna guess anything else you really weren't paying attention yesterday, and got splattered with clown guts by Rosa. Yeah, I kinda like that. Peter armed up and followed her out to go clown hunting, and Octavia came by to make sure she was okay, and she mostly just wanted a better gun.

Keyleth: You were out there too, weren't you. Note how that wasn't actually a question.

Beau: There was [BEEP] to fight, no [BEEP] I was gonna be out there. Like, super annoyed about how slow they were, but Rey thought I shouldn't encourage them to go faster. Would've totally taken you up on that offer to help, just saying, Rey. Octavia murdered a clown that was probably going to reach me, like, next week sometime, and I let her try out one of my suuuuuuuuper dope throwing stars. Speaking of which, Amaya, I'm probably gonna need to put in another order for those soon, 'cause yeah. [BEEP]in' clowns. Me and Verity were kinda disappointed in the clowns' lack of interest in mid-fight banter and may have also been discussing the business potential in specializing at getting different kinds of blood out of clothes.

Keyleth: Oooh, I know a few people back home who would love that, since, you know, not everybody has access to that one wizard cantrip that cleans things.

Beau: This is what I'm saying.

Keyleth: I'm a little concerned about how much you apparently enjoyed all of that.

Beau: Listen, yesterday was exactly a year since I got here. I'm considering that Fandom's little present to me.

Keyleth: Do you really think --

Beau: LET ME HAVE THIS, OKAY.

Keyleth: Okay, okay, sheesh! That's all we have today, so I'm going to ... go find something to get this lingering taste of clown blood out of my mouth.

Beau: Gross, dude. You did the tiger thing. You can't do the tiger thing and then give me [BEEP] about enjoying it.

Keyleth: ... okay, that is fair, yes. I'm just going to take the liberty of signing off before this turns into an argument, okay? Have a nice Halloween, everybody! Even if I'm still not entirely sure what it's about.
