Fandom Radio, Thursday, May 12th

Yo, sup Fandom an' welcome newbies. This is Hardison, your Thursday broadcaster, here to assure you that whatever you heard about this island is probably true and almost certainly crazier than you been told. For example, I was brought to this radio station by a buncha drunk squirrels an' now am gonna attempt to decipher their little squirrely, hand-written notes to tell y'all what you did yesterday. Because they spy on you. Drunkenly.

Welcome to Fandom, y'all.

Anyway, we got School back in session, startin' with Karla's Modern Shakespeare class, which started off with an explanation of why Shakespeare's still studied today, an' why they'll be watchin' modern interpretations of the plays. Introductions included interpretin' a line or two from a play, an' then they watched The Lion Monarch, which is actually a version of Amleth, just all Disneyfied. This is just a reminder out there to all us teachers that all our students are younger than that movie by a good, like, five years an' you're welcome for that. Then the class discussed whether or not the movie was a good retelling of the play. After class, Karla got visits from Ender with an excited Val, Kaylin, who wanted to say hi an' maybe ask for the TA spot, an' Hannibal, who showed up with chocolates an' what's probably a weddin' invite.

*Grumpy chittering*

An' now the squirrels wanna know where theirs is an' I'm really hopin' they're demandin' chocolates because I KNOW Eliot is gonna pitch a fit about caterin' a weddin' an' feedin' squirrels.

Workin' With Jerks has--why are some of the squirrels cryin'? Did Leroy do somethin'?--where was I? Right, Workin' With Jerks has Tony Stark an' Steve Rogers teamin' up to teach, askin' the students to introduce themselves talkin' about jerks they know. Good thing I ain't in that class or we'd all still be there. Once intros are over, the students are put into a Danger Shop sim where they're overworked baristas dealin' with Steve an' Tony callin' out of work. Rude. See--it's reasons like that that I turned to crime, yo.

I mean, err, not crime. Somethin' else, all respectable. Dammit!

Movin' quickly on, Eliot also had a class, Yes, You Actually Can Cook, at the community center. It says a whole lot about the folks on this island that most of the people to show up were adults, yo. He showed us how to make scrambled eggs, then let folks make whatever kinda eggs we wanted, so long as we ain't catch nothin' on fire. Eliot taught Ringo some cookin' tricks while she made tamagoyaki. Karla told Eliot to watch her kids so she didn't burn nothin' down--okay, now all the squirrels are laughin'--an' after class, Kanan talked to Eliot about bears, alots, an' other fun Fandom weirdness.

Wait--we got bears on this island?! Dammit, Fandom!

An' in her office today, Electroclash is havin' trouble with her computer when Deadpool stopped by an' they fought or flirted or both cause he thinks it's his office. Right. Office hours. I oughta...get on that, damn.

Now we got Dorms, Dante--oh dear lord--showed up at the gym to teach Alluka how to punch people. Oh! This went in a completely different direction than I thought it would, an' I'm mildly disturbed by how happy I am to hear about students encouragin' each other to violence, compared to what I thought this note was gonna be about. In the first floor garage, Rey finds an abandoned hoverbike, an' Mayday drops by to look around an' introduce herself. Man, I want a hoverbike, now! Rey, there's extra credit in it for you!

And then we head over to Town, where Cosima was at Stark's, bein' a fool and readin' an' respondin' to comments on a news story. Aw, little mama, no. Go back to playin' with mind-controlly aliens, it's better for you than all that nonsense. Remember folks out there, especially folks new to this kinda technology: never read the comments. I'mma say it again, it's that important: never read the comments. You'll thank me. In Book Haven, Alana put up a Now Hirin' sign, which brought Rufus in. He heard how the books tended to behave an decided to apply right there. An' then Ringo was waitin' for Alluka outside of JGOB an' they shared brownies while Ringo explained the concept of challengin' yourself.

That's it for the news folks, y'all have a great day!
