Hey everyone, and welcome back to Fandom, if you were on the trip.
*chittering*
Yes, I know that includes me. Everyone else, did you miss us? Don't answer that, Leroy. Now, I don't want to say we got a chilly reception when we arrived back at the causeway yesterday, but it was warmer in Cyseal on the last day -- well, half day -- of the trip. Electroclash was in her room, packing, while Cassandra chose to prepare for the trip home by having breakfast at the bar. A lot of breakfast. That's one way to prepare for the weather change. Merrill went to the market and got lost on the way back, and there weren't any funny headcount numbers so I'm going to assume that wasn't permanent. Cosette was at the library, doing all the last-minute reading possible, Dante was at the beach being . . . as shirtless as possible, apparently, and Ezra just spent the time wandering around town.
And then we got back to Fandom, where we probably had to put a few extra layers back on. Kathy got back to news from home that had her booking a portal right away. Dante was surprised to see her taking off so fast, and then insisted on her staying safe while she was gone. Anders stopped in and found out about Kathy's trip home too, but then they were less worried about safety and more worried about whether her studies will suffer for it. Well, good luck, from someone who used to have to do that all the time when I was a student here.
So about that whole welcome back thing? Hannibal actually threw a welcome back party at his place, where people mingled, since that's the general expectation at parties. Dante's decision to drink beer out of the bottle didn't go over well with Hannibal, who decided to pre-emptively warn Lucille about how Jono's sort of made of fire. There was also food, because it's not a party at Hannibal's without food. A lot of food. Enough that Lucille needed some help from the host to decide what to try first. Jono was really glad that there were mushy peas on the menu -- which isn't the most appealing-sounding description, but considering what I grew up eating I'm probably not one to talk. Anyway, he got to sample the food psychically thanks to Hannibal. Lucille got permission to play the piano in the music room, just to top off the night.
It was Oscars night last night, and Jessica was watching the awards ceremony and sending text messages while she was at it. Hardison, on the other hand, wasn't happy about not being there in person for the first time in years, or about the serious lack of color issue in the nominations. That's when he got the idea to hack the teleprompter and lights, which Parker didn't exactly talk him out of so much as distract him by saying they should make their own movie instead. No, wait, not just a movie, the whole film industry. Eliot was there to remind Parker not to set things on fire -- also there's something here about wondering if there were hamsters that got turned into people? -- and scheme with Hardison about replacing the Academy members for being dumb and racist. Honestly, I'm not even from this galaxy and I noticed that.
Anyway, it's back to classes today. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you were sadly mistaken if you were hoping the teachers somehow forgot about that. Try and have a good week, okay? Oh, and also, it's still February today, because Earth has weird calendar systems. Just had to clarify that it's a leap year and not some weird time-loop situation, because this is Fandom and that's actually a possibility.
This is Tahiri signing out. Until next week, everyone!
