Fandom Radio, Tuesday, May 19th
Good morning, Fandom; Cecil here, with all the news the squirrels think is worth reporting. Apparently some folks were extra old this weekend? Time is such a funny thing!
Well, anyway.
In classes yesterday, International Cuisine went to a little tempura restaurant in Tokyo where they got a lecture, and learned how to eat with chopsticks, and then ate.
Back on the island, Bailing 101 talked about not leaving loose ends when you bail; Atton talked about it, and then the class got to pair up and try the whole, "no, don't come and find me!" thing.
And Relax and Recharge met at the theater to watch a movie with great car chases and awesome women and - and I'm quoting here - "explodey things". So that was pretty great!
Meanwhile, in the dorms, Flick and Isabelle woke up together and made sure everything was okay, which it was, except that Flick says he really doesn't know how he ends up these future versions of himself, and like, I know, right? Time! Does anybody really ever understand it?
Also - in a different room, though - Ringo woke up and was really confused on account of apparently sleeping the entire weekend. Sounds to me like someone needs to party just a bit less! Oo, unless the local government has finally stepped up to have a secret police and kidnap people and wipe their memories for their own good?
*chittering*
Oh, well. Apparently not. Ringo just needs more sleep.
Over at the hotel - which is sort of like dorms, only you have to pay more money but you get bigger beds - Kathy and Nikolai woke up together, and it was apparently pretty awkward, but at least they were happy in the future? So, go you two!
And also - but again, in a different room - Peter and Natalie woke up and were awkward over a sandwich and their weekend hair.
And also Jaime and Momoko woke up in their own room, but it was too early to tell if that was awkward, too.
Dinah and Priestly bucked the whole "awkward in the hotel" trend by having their awkward waking-up in a tent on the beach, and then just joking around about it and wondering who got custody of the tent now they're not married anymore. Yet.
And in the totally non-awkward corner, Stiles brought Derek coffee in bed and they talked about weddings and how many kids is too many, and Hardison woke up Parker and Eliot - ugh - with a nightmare, which the squirrels are attributing to his being held hostage yesterday in twenty years. But then, I'm not sure where or when the squirrels got their psychology credentials, so.
And in the general town news, the staff at Luke's teased Eliot - ugh - about being old over the weekend, and he made some phone calls and probably ruined somebody's day before letting Hanna...out of the supply closet? I'm...not sure why she was in there. But apparently she was pretty upset about something - something to do with the weekend - and offered not to go back to Hardison's class...oh, no! But Eliot told her she was going anyway, and got her a shake and talked about things, and...well, okay. I guess that was pretty decent of him. Everybody has an off day, right?
Then Kathy brought some meat over and they talked about the weekend, and LA, and whether Eliot expected to live that long. Presumably he got more polite.
Over on the beach, Jasper woke up with sand in his mouth, but Didi gave him some water and they sat and talked about food and death and stuff.
In the parking lot, Mister Grumpy Ronan was hitting his car when Dr. Lecter - whose food is to die for - stopped to talk cars with him.
And at Groovy Tunes, Jono was in a good mood and running a sale on CDs; Lottie stopped in and tried to make him explain CDs to her, but it turns out they both love vinyl records, and then he found out she doesn't have Nirvana back home and just had to share it! And give her a job. Didi also stopped by to find out what music was good, and talked to Jono about her job and living place, and Anders came in to talk about...um. I...think this is a shopping list or something. Not Anders', the squirrel's. Did somebody get distracted?
*embarrassed chittering*
Well, whatever. I'm sure it wasn't at all important.
And then last night, Johnny was flying around town on fire, and Gwen called him a showoff, so he came down to talk and say he was working things out.
And it looks like that's it for today! Or yesterday, or whatever. I hope everyone is having a great day today, and until next week, I leave you with the weather!
