Fandom Radio, Tuesday, May 5th

Good morning, listeners, Cecil here. And I'd just like to say to all the new people out there - welcome! I hope you all have a wonderful time here and manage not to die from anything you can't come back from.

Classes started yesterday, with International Cuisine had introductions including any allergies, a lecture, and food. During the introductions, Lottie got distracted by Rapunzel's really impressive hair, and while eating, Lottie and Dr. Lecter - whose food is to die for - talked about tea, and Mabel really enjoyed the pate and sour cherry sandwiches.

In Bailing 101, the teacher started off by setting an example and bailing before anyone got there. The students could wait for him or give up and try to leave. Anders decided to walk out, and got caught by Atton's disembodied voice? But it said he could go ahead and leave anyway. Ada tried to get out the windows, but they wouldn't open. After fifteen minutes, Jesse left, and really freaked out when Atton's disembodied voice - and no, that would make an awful band name -

*chittering!*

I'm sorry; it will. Anyway, he asked where Jesse was going. Then the rest of Atton showed up, which Jesse thought was pretty neat.

After twenty-five minutes, Atton walked in and asked why anyone was still there and what a good reason would have been to bail on the class.

Relax and Recharge met outside and heard a brief lecture before the introduc... Um. Okay, the rest of you can't see the squirrels here, but if you could...they're pretty vehement about this tradition. So...everybody please have introductions this week, okay?

*cough* And then everybody sat around and talked. Daphne and Johnny talked about their classes and Nathan and I talked about Edward's snoring and the fact that apparently England's a thing? At least in his world.

And in the library, the etiquette books were suspiciously well-behaved on Barry's shift, so they were probably plotting something. Kathy came to tell him he's bad at graduating because all her pictures of him have his phone in them. But he was working on a solar generator, so that's okay. And then she joked about getting him to upgrade her pockets, and if he could run some tests on her to figure out how her powers work.

In office hours, Jones was working and catching up with radio when Hardison stopped by.

Over in the dorms, Alluka was sitting on her bed with her bunny when Anders brought her gummy worms and they talked about her conversation with Jono, and then Kathy brought her clothes and asked about her classes.

And after all of that, Kathy came back to her room to an e-mail message that did not make her happy, and Anders headed to the boys' bathroom to re-pierce his ear, where Dipper wondered what was going on and Thorin came to see if he was okay.

And in town, Tony opened Stark Industries, put up a help wanted sign, and checked the programming of someone called JARVIS?

*chittering*

Oh, apparently that's a computer. Be careful! Cosima came in and found out about the business and JARVIS and got a job.

Also Emma-the-student had her first shift at Wonka's - congratulations and good luck! - and unpacked gummies with laser swords.

At JGOB, Jasper was eating a muffin when Derek stopped to tell him he looks just like Isaac, and they talked about that and whether or not Derek likes dog food. Is Derek a dog? ...The squirrels are see-sawing their hands back and forth. Ringo also stopped to say hi, and they talked about her skates, which are something called ATs.

Eliot - ugh was having a normal day at Luke's with the staff having utensil duels.

And over at the Devil's Nest, Jack - the only one - was trying to study to the sound of the 90s novelty songs the DJ was playing. Eric contemplated eating the DJ, but Jack - the only one - talked him out of it because there's all this paperwork, and hiring a new one, and ugh.

And that's all the news for today! Once again, welcome to the island, new folks, and let's everyone try to make them feel as welcome as possible once the initial suspicion wears off. Until then - or at least next week - I leave you with the weather.
