Cosette: -- absolutely no need to be so brusque about it, really, you'd only have had to ask nicely and of course I'd have been perfectly willing to help. Yes, I'll still help, but I'm quite cross with you right now.
*door opening noise*
Éponine: All right, all right, I'm here, now where's the payment you promised me, you little nuisances?
Cosette: What are you -- it's only morning, and you can't really be expecting them to pay you in those tiny little bottles to do this?
Éponine: Well, little Lark, d'you expect me to do this for nothing?
Cosette: *sigh* You're entirely impossible.
Éponine: And there isn't a thing you can do about it, so let's get a move on. Here, the school notes are first, so you can do those, since what do I care about that?
Cosette: Oh, nothing at all, I'm sure. Today in Science and Technology we learned about things called Pym Particles, and how we can use them to make things or people bigger or smaller.
Éponine: Only in much fancier terms, no doubt.
Cosette: Just a little bit fancier. Mis-Intelligence got a movie day today. Was it an interesting one? I hope so. Baking was all about different ways to mix things.
Éponine: You put things into a bowl and mix them together. How can you tell if you do it one way or another, anyway?
Cosette: See if I bring you any treats at work, if you carry on like that. And then in Adulting we learned about how we've got to dress and behave to make a good impression on a job interview, and that meant we got to try on clothes and practice doing interviews.
Éponine: That's the sort of thing that might've been useful to know when I first got here! I managed, anyhow.
Cosette: Clearly. Stop interrupting, or I'll say that the library was probably better behaved for Barry yesterday than you're being, and do you really want that?
Éponine: Oh, nicely played. You are a clever one, aren't you? All right, well, I don't see any notes here about what you kids were up to in the dorms or anything like that. That's less embarrassing for all of you, isn't that nice? Over at Cafe Fina, where I ought to drop by again sometime, I do like the food and it's been quite a while, Hatter was working on things for his class. And what's this? Atton and Sparkle were practicing shooting blasters at the range at Atlas Gym, and it seems Sparkle's actually quite good at it. Well, good for you, Sparkle, I suppose!
Cosette: Around here, I'm sure it's bound to be awfully useful sooner rather than later.
Éponine: And at the Devil's Nest . . . oh, Monsieur Jack, juggling the bottles? I hope that didn't turn out to be too expensive in the end.
Cosette: There, and that's all the notes we have. I hope everyone has a good day today!
Éponine: And I've time to run and get some coffee before I go to work, so there's that at least.
