What is - you again?
*chittering*
Yes, I realize the students are on vacation. Hence my having a quiet morning in.
*chittering*
*sigh* Fine, I'll read the notes, and you can stay where it's warm.
But not in my kitchen!
Good morning, anybody who's left or who will be listening later. Apparently I'll be doing the radio today, because the squirrels aren't in a mood to freeze.
Over in Rorikstead, you can see the damage to the town by the light of day. People mostly began the day in their rooms, with Mara happy to be a girl again - though neither she nor Face were happy about the cold or vacation destination - Kitty happy to be a woman again and Clint happy to check for himself - honestly, these are the notes you give me? Kira also very happy to be a girl again, with Sparkle less happy to be woken up by her squeal, and Celia and Ichabod waking up snuggled together, where Celia's once more feminine hair made him sneeze, which helped them both to wake up. And presumably she was also happy to once more be female.
In news that doesn't involve bedrooms, Barry transported some Porta Potties - good lord - to the inn for everyone, and Gwen tried to take a bath and gave up as soon as she felt the water. Meanwhile, there was also a common room for people to spend time in, including Nathan.
For those who made it out of the inn, they could go into Rorikstead, where they could pitch in to rebuild the...Cowflop Farm farmhouse? That's actually its name?
*chittering*
No accounting for taste, I suppose. In addition to helping, Mara dropped a stone on her foot, which Anders then healed for her, and Cecil - who ought to be doing this broadcast - announced that he thought this dragon was rude, which made Kira interested to hear about the dragons he's used to.
People could also go shopping at the Wandering Salesman, where Mr. Skywalker bought another cloak. Atton made digs at him for being cold, but apparently he gave away that he was having some problems, so Mr. Skywalker made plans with him to meet for a drink later to talk. And Rory announced they didn't have coffee, but shared some wine with her husband, and they tried to figure out what to bring back for their kids.
There were also several chances to go exploring outside of the city, such as by wandering the countryside, where Ichabod and Nathan talked about the local flora and planned an excursion into the mountains.
Later that evening, after everybody was done working for the day and had a chance to relax in what the squirrels are saying is a deplorable lack of luxury,
*chittering*
Not in so many words, no, but that was the gist.
Some stayed in the inn and their rooms, while others bathed, including Johnny, who kept his own bath water hot and promised to keep his eyes to himself if anyone else wanted hot water. Gwen was glad to hear that, and declared that he and Barry are everyone's heroes on this trip. I'm just increasingly glad I couldn't make it.
Others went to the common room, where Flick and Isabelle had spiced wine and food and talked about what they did today. After Flick told Isabelle he looked better in a tie than she did, they flirted and kissed and eventually thankfully got a room.
Gwen also was there, and played games on her phone, and then Barry gave her the wifi password, for which she adored him, but he apparently didn't think she should use it to tweet or Instagram pictures of her food. I shudder to think, personally.
Meanwhile, the... *chuckle* *throat clearing* Thank you for this. The "grumpy ball of clothing" Anakin Skywalker was sitting near the fire and having a drink when Atton came by for that aforementioned talk.
Also in the common room was a bard, while around town were Barry's portable toilets, the city itself, and the traveling salesman, or you could grab a torch and go out and stargaze.
Further from town there were other things to do, including a trip to see the giant glowing mushrooms in the underground caverns at Blackreach, an ale-tasting at the Old Hroldan Inn, Talking Stone Camp, where Johnny set some giants on fire after they attacked him, and a cave where Anders lurked to watch a dragon.
Sometimes I despair of the self-preservation instincts of our students.
And meanwhile back here, Hatter opened Cafe Fina in spite of the vacation and tried some new concoctions, and Jack was somewhat disturbed to find that Tiny writing a..."mash note"?...to a zombie at the Devil's Nest. I'm guessing the meaning of that from context, and yes, it does sound rather disturbing.
It looks like that's all the notes that there are, so I'm going to find something warm to give these...short furry gentlemen...that will hopefully keep them away from my kitchen and food. I hope those of you in Skyrim are having a lovely time, and those of you back here are enjoying your break.
