Fandom Radio, Tuesday, September 30th

Good morning and a happy Tuesday, Fandom! Cecil here, and I hope you're all fully recovered from this weekend. I'd also really like to thank you all, because I was honestly feeling a bit sorry for myself not having ♥Carlos♥ or anyone else show up for me this weekend, but now, having listened to all of your stories, I realize it could have been a lot worse! So, thank you!

And now let's review the news from yesterday.

In classes, Technology and You learned about video games, and got to choose what they wanted to try out. Ichabod asked Celia if she'd like to play together, and she wondered if he was allowed to talk to her, so they figured out where they stand after the weekend while figuring out the controllers. And apparently where they stand is not at all where their fathers want them to, so go, Ichabod and Celia!

Public Service got some building supplies today so they could start digging, and moved things via…chocobo? Is that a vehicle?

*chittering*

Oh. Huh. Neat!

Anders told Kathy he managed not to tell his sister about being a mage, and they talked about what Sarah thought of the place and about Kathy's gremlin bite. Which I have to say, that song was really pretty great! And Four - hi, roomie! - talked to Reno, who met his mother, but didn't want to say much about it, apparently.

And in How to be a Hired Gun, Jayne was hungover, so the class got a movie day. I hope it was a good one!

Over in the library, my little sib Barry was trying to get some work done, but the etiquette and self-help books had teamed up against him. A word of advice, Barry - just nod and say thank you. Then go and do whatever you want. Kathy came by and apologized a lot for interrupting, thinking Barry was talking to her instead of the books, and then asked him to build a secret phone for her sister.

And in the first floor lobby in the morning, as promised, Johnny Storm had cupcakes and hugs for everybody, proving that he really is a superhero!

Rapunzel said her mood didn't need brightening, but she still smiled a lot at the cupcakes. Johnny told her about going home for the weekend and getting yelled at by his sister, and got a hug from her when he told her about how he watched his father drown. Oh, that sounds pretty awful.

Elsa told Johnny she wasn't much of a hugger but that he was doing a good thing, which he really was! He suggested a high five, but she didn't know what one was, so he showed her how, and then he told her about his weekend trip home. She was pretty sympathetic, since she ran away after her parents drowned, too. Oh, no! I'm so sorry for both of your losses.

Kira also dropped by, with gold star stickers for everyone who survived Parents' Weekend. Johnny said he couldn't take one because he skipped town, and asked her how her weekend was. She said it was pretty okay, and then he made her blush, and then she got a cupcake.

Rapunzel asked Kira if everyone got stars, and admitted she was disappointed over not having any visitors. Kira decided that counted, and stuck the star to her cheek.

Kathy thought she might need a star for herself and one for her sister, and got multiple hugs from Kira for having an awful weekend. Kira thought her mom and Kathy's dad would get along, but Kathy disagreed. Well, you'll never know until you try, will you?

Mara came back after the weekend and saw the doughnuts, and Johnny explained what they were for and gives her a hug, too, and told her about going home to see his sister.

Alana wanted a cupcake anyway even though her weekend was fine, and Johnny told her everyone got one. She also asked what's up with him and his sister. Gwen wondered how busy the lobby had been, and Johnny said he was glad he had a lot of cupcakes. Gwen said she thought she was one of the few people who had a good weekend, and he told her this past weekend was the first time he's been home since his dad died. Which I'm guessing was kind of a downer, so I'm still going with Gwen on this one!

Ichabod wondered why Johnny was giving people yummy sugary treats, and got a hug from Johnny to go with his, which was apparently a bit of a surprise. Not to mention quite the way to meet someone for the first time. Johnny also offered to listen if Ichabod needef to vent about the weekend, and then got to hear about Ichabod's disagreement with his father.

Kathy thought the whole thing was an awesome idea and wanted to know if she could get two of something. She got a hug first, because that was less messy, and she was kind of clingy, so he guessed it was a bad weekend, and then got to hear about her parents and the talent show debacle:

Barry - hi, little sib! - demanded a hug and got it, and told Johnny that other than that, he doesn't want a cupcake or to talk about the weekend.

Eleanor wanted to know if she could still have a cupcake and a hug even if her weekend wasn't as bad as some people's, and of course she could! Johnny was all about spreading the cheer.

Cosette wondered what was going on, and Johnny explained about how people had bad weekends, so she said she wished she'd known so she could bake something to share. But Johnny just said he bought his because he wasn't going to poison people. Which is generally a good idea!

And last but not least, over in town, Hatter was reading the newspaper at Cafe Fina and trying not to fall asleep. Tired, or drugged newspaper?

*chittering*

Oh. Tired, it sounds like. And boring. But then Irene stopped by, being really smug, and all, "You never told me you and Alice were in love" at him. Hatter denied it, of course, but did admit that he maybe had a little soft spot for her.

And over at Caritas, Kenzi - hi, Kenzi! - was celebrating National Coffee Day by offering free coffee-flavoured drinks.

*chittering*

Really? Huh. Okay. Listeners, I have to let you know, this squirrel right here has dibs on all of the kahlua. They even wrote it in all caps!

And other than that, it looks like we're done! So, until next week, everybody have a good time and keep yourselves safe, and in the meantime, I leave you with the weather!
