Fandom Radio, Saturday, August 30

...but I've never done this before! And I don't speak squirrel! Poking is super rude, you know. And--oh, of course everything is turned on already.

*chittering*

Are you trying to say you're helpful? Because you're not actually very helpful. Okay, uh, hi whoever's listening to this. I'm Kira Yukimura and I think the squirrels want me to read the notes this morning so... let's see how this goes.

The first week of classes ended yesterday, although I don't know if some of these things should count as classes. The How to Totally Be a Spy teachers complained to each other about how they'll have to miss Black Friday to be at their class, but really, Cyber Monday is where all the best deals are anyway. Barry warned Mara not to mess with their teachers' genetic structures, which isn't something I would have thought anyone would have to worry about, so thanks for that. Barry also told Isabelle that the arguing is pretty typical for this class, as evidenced by Joker having a catchphrase bingo card for the teachers. And, of course, there were introductions with cover stories. In American History, Mr. Lyman wanted to know how much useless history people already knew, and in Beginning Gourmet Cooking Techniques, Mr. Lecter checked for allergies and stuff before having everyone make soup or eggs. Elsa's new to cooking, which is probably a common thing around here, and Rapunzel made good eggs. Aww, you guys do write nice notes. Afterwards, everyone had a chance to drool over Mr. Lecter's food. It's seriously good you guys, you should take a class from him just for eating.

In the dorms, Flick was getting ready to go out, which I hope the squirrels weren't like watching or something, and when Isabelle came by, he invited her to go with him, aww.

He's my big sibling, I can aww at him, shhh. In town, there was a sale on non-alcoholic drinks at Caritas for new students--and any teachers who don't drink, I hope--and Allie was looking at movies on her phone at The Devil's Nest. She must have a waaay better data plan than I do.

There was also a party on the beach last night, thrown by Eleanor and Celia. Eleanor asked Barry about the logo on his shirt, as well as his bromance with Joker, and Raven asked Barry what he got up to over the summer, which apparently involved an anti-gremlin vaccine. Raven asked Ichabod about his lack of a swimsuit and he explained he'd feel naked in one, aww. Fashion has to be one of the weirdest things to deal with here if you're not from, you know, now. Eleanor talked to Ichabod about how long she and Celia have been planning this party, and Joker wondered why Ichabod was overdressed. I'm sure he was dressed for a nice party, it totally counts. Raven and Cecil talked about how crazy their teachers are this semester, which Eleanor agreed with. I mean, crazy nice! With their taking the time to teach and everything! Watch, we're all gonna die next week, great. Anyway, Joker and Raven talked fashion, and Eleanor made sure Jalian knew this wasn't a holiday party, just a party-party. Jalian and Raven talked about culture shock, since Raven's from the past and Jalian's from the future, and apparently this was Travis's first party, yay Travis! It was also, as Raven found out, his first time on a beach. Looks like Travis gets two gold stars for social interaction! Uh, I should point out that's not an actual thing, but it totally should be. Raven told Rapunzel she should wear her hair as a dress--okay, yeah, she could totally pull that off--and Joker and Eleanor got flirty with each other which hopefully the squirrels didn't watch for long, because creepy! Eleanor and Elsa started planning a beach party for the winter months, and Barry nicely offered to help Elsa get in the water, but she didn't want to. I don't blame her - who knows what's in the water around this island!

Anyway, Eleanor and Celia talked about how well the party was going even though they're sort of fighting, aww. Celia asked Barry about the projects he's working on right now, and asked Jalian if she was armed to protect against sharks. Jalian wondered why more people here don't wear weapons--me too, me too. There was live music provided by Roland, and Celia apparently blew poor Ichabod away with her bathing suit. Don't break the nice boys around here, please! Nathan and Eleanor talked about how nice the waves were to look at while Barry roasted marshmallows and Raven--oh god, I'm not reading that, and I hope you didn't watch her! And then Eleanor and Joker went off to--honestly, you'd better not have followed them either!

Okay, the squirrels have stopped handing me little sheets of paper, so I'm assuming they ran out of people to stalk after the party. I'm going to see if I can get out of here without getting poked more. Have a good weekend, everyone!
