Fandom Radio, Tuesday, July 1st

Hello, Listeners, Cecil here. Classes have started again, and it looks like we're off to a great start so far! If you ignore the whole singing bug and insanely cold back-up house thing. Which I am! It really is the best thing to do with things you can't help, after all.

In our first day of classes, Seven Ways to Annoy Anakin Skywalker met on the lawn, and the squirrels would like to say "Hi, Bel!" to the man with the worrying grin.

*excited chittering*

Apparenty he submitted the class as a joke, but since it's happening, they went ahead with introductions and suggestions before Bel teleported into Anakin's office to unlock it so the class could vandalize it. Apparently Bel really enjoyed all of this, and I would like to point out that anything required for a class is not a legally punishable offense. I think.

After that, Hacking 101 started off with Riley telling everyone that hacking's bad reputation is really not all that deserved. Then he demonstrated by hacking into the security system of a bank. But apparently they hired him to do it, so he could find security holes, so again - completely not legally punishable!

They also did introductions, which the squirrels are badly faking shock about - honestly, you guys, you should work on your acting - which included finding out what the students might want to hack into.

Dance 2 (Electric Boogaloo) met in a dance studio (aka the Danger Shop), and started dangerously shaking things up by starting not only with introductions, but also with a movie! Which I'm pretty sure is legal, depending on the movie.

And the Fun in the Sun class met at Serenity Cove, where Bond told them what they needed to know, and then had everyone do introductions while playing frisbee, and then play frisbee on their own.

In the dorms - or rather our temporary, frigid replacement for the dorms - Nathan was eating waffles on the porch. Four - hi, usual roomie! - dropped by and they talked about the house being creepy, books being stupid, and how Nathan prefers music but Four thinks the radio has an agenda. Well, of course it does! And they both end up agreeing that the music in the dorms is terrible. Which I think is something we can all agree on, really. I also went out there, with a sweater on, because my room is freezing! Foucault won't even go in, and I said I was thinking of sleeping on the beach with him, and Nathan said he recommends it. I haven't ruled it out yet, but I'm still a bit skeptical of rain.

In more personal-space news, Dr. Lecter - whose food is to die for - was at home arguing with a contractor about where to put the oven. The contractor wanted it one place, but Dr. Lecter wanted it the right way, and he got what he wanted because duh, it's his house. Plus money.

Principal Winchester was on hold with various exterminators, but she kept getting hung up on when she told them about the singing bugs, so it looks like we're in the cold house a while longer, everybody! Flash came by to talk to her, too. But unless he's an exterminator, I don't think that helped.

Liara is back in town and was unpacking in her room when Karolina came by and was very, very happy to see her.

*chittering cheers*

The squirrels are all for this. There was kissing that they're describing as "sweet and adorable", filling in on news and gossip, and then more kissing.

And Barry - hi, little sibling! - was working on a project in his warehouse when he stopped to text someone for a bit and then went back to work.

And over in town, Hatter had all the boredom at Cafe Fina, so if you need any, you know where to go! Mercy was playing upbeat, happy music at Groovy Tunes, and Kenzi - hi, Kenzi! - was experimenting with booze and ice cream floats at Caritas. Oo! I'm sorry I missed that! You should do it again next week!

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great first week of classes, and that your rooms are warmer than mine, and that the bugs go away soon. Until next week, I leave you with the weather.
