Fandom Radio, Tuesday, May 6th
Good morning, Fandom. This is definitely Cecil here, bringing you the news from all around the island.
*uncertain chittering*
Well, let's just do it.
In Advanced Film Criticism, students had to introduce themselves, and tell their favorite Nicolas Cage movie or run a lap. Joker and Mr. Sanders got into a discussion about, according to the squirrels, "terrible bad movies vs. amazing bad movies". Then they watchedmeta for Con Air, and reviewed it - favorably or they ran another lap. None of which seems really fair, but who am I to question a teacher? I'm just me, I'm sure.
In Dance class, Ms Pryde told everyone to wear comfy clothes and shoes, they introduced themselves, they stretched, and they did splits.
In Practical Philosophy class, Ender told everyone class was more about asking questions than studying philosophers. Just be careful which questions you ask, because you might not want the answers. there was a lecture, then discussions of what people thought of the island. Barry - who's my little brother here, like the one I never had, said Fandom surprised him a bit but he's okay. Elsa talked about how the weird stuff the island did made her question herself, which I really hear you on.
Jalian was interested in the alternate realities and wondered if that was why Elsa's hair was white. Elsa was confused at first, but Jalian explained that hers used to be brown. Sometimes people change; there's nothing sinister in that, right?
Eleanor told Elsa she would have liked to meet that other Elsa, and they talked about the other versions of themselves. Anders figured he was too new to have formed an opinion on Fandom yet, but at least no-one was trying to arrest him. Apparently they lock up mages in his world because they might be a threat. Soren said he likes it in Fandom; he came here partly because he knew Vider, who's a friend from home.
Celia said she loves how accepting everyone is here, and it's made her wonder about her upbringing. Kira said she wasn't happy about it at first, but it's interesting. Eleanor said she's learning who she is here; that sounds really nice.
Meanwhile, someone named Rikku showed up and broke into Reno's apartment. Reno woke up and offered to help her move her stuff in or to hold his weasel so he didn't try and escape.
*lewd chittering*
Maybe; who knows? Rikku was pretty sure she could handle it, but wanted to know why Reno was on the couch.
Nathan made it back to his room with a few changes of clothes and some other things, including a sketch pad which he used to sketch.
Pinkie Pie did some shopping this morning on Godiva street, where she ran into Eliot, who thought she was a hallucination and tried to record her on his telephone. Hallucinations don't record, though. Mostly. Pinkie thought she and Eliot should do lunch sometime and then told Eliot what his cutie mark would be.
Riley had office hours and was playing a game on his laptop.
Stiles was on the couch at Derek's house, watching an action movie. Derek showed up and Puppy Joe came in and climbed onto Stiles' lap. Stiles told Derek that he thinks he's been sleepwalking, which worried Derek, but Stiles reassured him, and then they decided to go out on a real date.
And in town, Ron was replacing Freedom Arms' furniture with things he made. Rikku came in looking for Cable, but since he wasn't there, she asked Ron for a job instead, and he gave it to her.
At Book Haven, Rosalind was ordering books. At Chilly Boulder, Ben was hanging around, when Tahiri showed up for hugs. She asked him about his new habit of coming back to teach over the summer, and said he's less serious now that he's not being shot at all the time. Which seems pretty normal. Like everything else.
At Groovy Tunes, Mercy was playing some CDs she'd never heard before.
At the clinic, Sam hosted another group therapy session.
At the Devil's Nest, Jack - the male one - tried to tell Tiny his Cinco de Mayo costume was offensive, but got a sombrero dropped on his head for his troubles. Ugh. That's almost as bad as the "Apache Tracker", that jerk. Meanwhile Kate was all about the bottomless margaritas, which she apparently can't have. Instead, she and Jack hugged. He asked her about teaching over the summer, and she told him about her teaching buddy being Pinkie Pie.
At Caritas, Kenzi - who knows who I am - had Cinco de Mayo specials, and Mr. Sanders sped in to grab a beer so he could go back to watching TV.
And in the park, Jono fed the ducks, I met him when I walked Foucault, and Barry told him he was taking barometric studies as a baseline, and wasn't happy to find out about the weather machine.
And that's all the news. All completely and utterly normal. Just like me and everything else here. Including the weather!
