Fandom Radio, Tuesday, April 29th

Good morning, listeners; Cecil here. We've all made it through a year - or another year - in high school, I am happy to say, and according to the speeches at graduation, this year's class had a remarkably low fatality rate overall! So let's keep it up and stick together.

Nothing was happening in school today - as might be expected - but we did all get our yearbooks, and I hope everyone will come and sign mine, because it's good sometimes to have a memento of each other, just in case.

Over in the dorms, Flick was reading his e-mail when Isabelle got bored and stopped by, and they flirted over how to keep things interesting. And the squirrels are all nudging each other. I'm...not sure how squirrels flirt, but they seem to approve of this kind.

And last night, Will was in the second floor common room, eating ice cream for dinner and watching a terrible movie. Which the squirrels are really enthusiastic about, and unlike the one we watched last week, this one seems to have included - if I'm reading this right - 'flaming Jesus spiders'. I'm...not sure I want to know what that is. Remember - sometimes, ignorance is the safest course of action, just like it says on the 'blithe unawareness' scout badge. Celia wasn't too sure about the movie, but she still shared Will's ice cream, which was apparently chocolate-chip cookie dough.

And over in town, Sam Wilson was at the clinic holding his first group therapy session. Oh, was that today! Darn it, I meant to show up, but then ♥Carlos♥ called, and we started talking, and..." *throat clearing* "Well, never mind. Maybe next time. Other people were there, though, and they talked, but in deference to patient confidentiality, the squirrels aren't saying what they discussed."

*chittering taunts*

"Even if they clearly know. After that, everybody mingled over really bad coffee, where Kitty and Jack - the female one - talked about how many people on the island had sucky lives, oh dear. Kitty and Jono bonded over mutant trauma and feeling guilty about not being back in their own worlds helping out - but I have to say, we're all very glad you're here! Squirrels, I dare you to say something."

*moment of silence*

"There, you see? Also, Dr. Lecter stopped by and talked to Sam, curious about his qualifications and what had brought him to the island. Sam told him a little about himself, and explained that rent is cheaper here. Which is a really good reason, I suppose.

Over at Needful Things, Seifer had a lot of paperwork, ugh. At Groovy Tunes, Mercy picked a bunch of totally random music. And at Caritas, Kenzi - hi, Kenzi! - had specials on drinks in honor of break week and the incoming new students. Oh! Wow. That means I've been here a whole year in Fandom-time now! I'll have to remember to ask how long it's been back home the next time I call.

And at the Devil's Nest, Jack - the male one - struggled with cell phone games - don't worry, even hooded figures have problems with them sometimes! And Kaidan came in and ordered a scotch, which Jack got for him before stopping for a chat about how he's been doing.

And that's all the news that there is for today. Those of you who are heading home for the break, have safe trips. Those of you who are heading out to live life...well, nothing is really safe, but try to minimize the damage. And on this, my last broadcast of this school year, I leave you with the weather!
