Fandom Radio, Tuesday, March 4th

The squirrels say I'm not the man they remember me being. But how long is a squirrel's memory, anyway?

Welcome to Fandom.

Good morning, listeners; Cecil here.

*chittering*

Of course I'm Cecil. I'm the same Cecil who's been doing the radio here for months!

*stubborn-sounding chittering*

No, now...I'm just going to ignore you, okay? There's news. You gave me the papers, and I'm reading them.

Good morning, listeners. I hope you all had a lovely spring break, no matter where you went. I went back home, and it was lovely and warm, and the lights over Radon Canyon were gorgeous.

And now, here I am, back in the snow. Let's not dwell on that, shall we? In the news yesterday over at the school, Classic Video Games started things off with Double Dragon. Which sounds like Hiram McDaniels' little sister or something. Then It's All Fun and Games played beach volleyball with giant badgers, and you really have to watch those things; they take their sports far too seriously.

Batman is French today, and speaking French, as you do. Which meant Advanced Criminal Justice got to build a guillotine. Oh, I remember doing that! We had a lot of fun in...let me see...eighth grade, I think? The key is to mount the blade only after you're done with the rest of it. Much less bloody that way.

In Self-Expression, the class got assigned speeches to work on so they can give them next week, and meanwhile Kitty got a flower delivery and had to text to say thank-you. Awww, isn't that sweet? Boyfriends take note!

And in office hours, Paige worked on lesson plans in her office.

Over in the dorms, Chuck - ugh - was back in the salle, attacking dummies with a staff. Which is pretty mean, but about what we've come to expect from him, really.

Will thought he was seeing people in his room, so he sent someone a message. In Flick's room, Flick was trying to unwind after a shower, and then Isabelle dropped by to catch up, talk about the gym, and discuss the fact that apparently his mom is alive. Which is great! Presumably.

And in the evening, Jessica went to the gym to beat up a punching bag. Now that's how you work out!

Meanwhile, in town, Clint showed up at Kitty's place with cupcakes, because spoiling her sounded like a good idea. And the squirrels are giving him a thumbs-up for that and say, "Good call, Clint, good call." And Amelia got back to the warehouse she's staying in to find Sparkle waiting there for her with food. Also a very good call, Sparkle! And hi, Amelia!

Mercy was working at Groovy Tunes and didn't have anyone to bring her food, but there must be someone on the horizon, because she was also working on wedding plans while listening to romantic music. At Demon Marcus, Hanna was reading fashion blogs and building displays of outfits like some of the ones from the Oscars last night.

At Mooby Land, Derek was waiting patiently for his food with an axe in a bag. Which the squirrels say is...totally normal! Really. Stiles stopped in for curly fries and decided Derek was being weird. Not because of the totally normal axe in a bag, but because he asked "how are you". Which is apparently not normal. Stiles then explained to Derek that his food was probably not out yet because...well, he did have an axe. Which - although perfectly normal - may have set the staff a bit on edge.

In other restaurant news, Squall brought Rinoa to Il Pollo for her birthday, and she decided that they should make it their restaurant. Oh, so are they buying it? I thought -

*chittering*

Hm? Oh. Oh! Okay. Sorry, listeners - they were not buying it, just declaring it theirs for the purposes of romantic references later in life. Which Rinoa then had to explain, because Squall is apparently sort of clueless at that sort of thing.

And last night, after returning to the island from a trip into Baltimore, Allie and Gorgon went to the park and had a super-powered spar...which mostly turned into Allie teaching Gorgon how to get out of the arm-holds she kept putting him in. Well, everybody needs a hobby!

And last but definitely not least, Kenzi was totally not mutated after visiting Radon Canyon - well of course not! - so she was at Caritas making Jell-O shots. I wanted to know if she had the glowing kind, and she just insisted that I was supposed to be a teenager? Which...honestly, I'm flattered, okay? But not for a while now. And then we talked about trying to get Jono a date, but Kenzi got all depressed on account of him not having a head. Sorry, Kenzi!

And that's all the news I've got for yesterday. Listeners, I want to thank you all for being here, for listening, and for doing your part to make this place a living and vibrant community. I hope you all continue to do so for some time. And until next week, I leave you with the weather.
