Fandom Radio, Thursday, January 23

Heeeey, island! All rested up? I know I'm sure the hell not. But here I am, doing my patriotic duty or something like that, all for you.

... You're all still in bed right now anyway, aren't you? Jerks.

Okay, so, news. Over in the School, Emergency Med Situations covered burns. Like, figuratively and literally, though it took Bay and Joker some figuring out, since she had to work around his crutches. Literature talked about meta for Emma, and I can't actually make a snarky comment here, since I haven't read the book. Friendshippery-Bakery had a movie day, the one about the rat chef, and Rilla and Zee were both pretty bothered by the rat-to-kitchen ratio and figured Hannibal would be, too. Over in the library, Sholeh had birthday cake, and an Evan who came bearing gifts, and a Yeul, who did the same. Both of 'em got cake.

... I didn't know it was her birthday. Look, I'm kinda shit at birthdays.

Anyway, moving on to the Dorms, we all know what happened at butt*feedback*-thirty, don't we? It led to things like Karina and Elsa talking about how to keep warm, and my answer to you both is 'layers.' Joker was surprised to see a kid living in the dorms - yeah, but Jims and Rilla get Awesome Points for being Canadian. Cade was giving us all a view thanks to his inability to dress himself, and Eleanor wondered if he was cold. Isabelle and Chuck snarked at one another, with him all meh-meh-meh PRACTICE! FREEDOM! HYPOTHERMIA! and her all, pfffft, I'm all shadowy and huntery and none of your mundane preparations for the future have any point.

I agree with shadowy-huntery on this occasion only because the ass-crack of the night is no time to be sitting in the *feedback*ing snow.

Liara was grumbling about the alarm, which prompted Joker to tease about whether they have drills where she's from. Dude, Joker, they have 'em where I'm from too, and I still complained. Ass-crack-of-the-night. Korra was sleeping on top of her huge-assed dog-bear, and while Jackson was all like, 'of course you have a huge-assed dog bear to sleep on,' Joker mostly just wanted to know where it came from. Eleanor worried about Elsa's lack of shoes, which didn't seem to bother Elsa anyway, and then they talked about water leaks where Eleanor's from. Karolina and Jim talked about birthdays meaning emancipation over some keep-warm cuddling, Flick and Emma talked about camping and tent-pitching you go Flick, aww yeah, and I got to explain fire drills and parkour to Celia in about that order, because I'm a kickass big sibling, but even I miss some stuff. I shared a blanket with Cecil while his big pink ostrich, like, sniffed my cat, too.

Celia, like all of us, talked to Will about how she'd rather be sleeping, and then passed on his explanation of fire drills to Eleanor, before they speculated about, like, getting dicks or something. Yeah, give it time, ladies. Karolina's glowy-colours trick had Joker impressed, as did Evan's noodle-arm-dog-leash trick, and while Cade moaned about the cold, Surreal considered hitting up the onsen.

... That's freaking genius. Next alarm, I'm packing my trunks.

Joker wasn't sure if Cecil's bird was a flamingo or what, and once you figure it out, let the rest of us know, okay? Eleanor was concerned about how many stairs Joker had to take, since you can't really 'elevator' during a real fire. Cade hated Stiles and his sleeping, and pretty much tried to steal his clothes - but the view, Cade. Think of the view. Isabelle and Isaac got their flirt on with a side of snuggle, and Rilla checked up on Cosette, while Cosette worried about Jims, and everything was adorable.

And then, because nobody believes in sleep around here, Karina invited Elsa to hang out in her room with, like, chocolate and pop and stuff. Well, that's boring, so I'm going to say there was kissing. Yeah.

And then, in Town, where everyone was just fine except for the students who had to freaking work, there was this thing for about an hour at the docks by Apocalypse Ave, where like the sky did something funky, kind of opening up and letting ashes drift down from a weird rift thing. Presumably everyone was sleeping after the fire alarm, so nobody really noticed but the squirrels. Kenzi and her sneezing were grounded from the kitchen at Luke's, which, you know, good. Nobody wants your crud, Kenz. The Raven-who-isn't-a-student-here was visiting the island, sipping tea at the Perk with a sleeping dog at her feet. Éponine warned Raven and the dog about the staff member who wasn't particularly fond of pets. They recognized one another from the Toymaker's dungeon, back when, though Raven mistook her for a student.

Eleanor's first day on shift at Groovy Tunes, and she's already discovered Pink Floyd. Good job, Eleanor! At Starks, Victor was repairing a boombox when he could have sworn Jarvis was making a comment about his breath, but I guess Jarvis wasn't? I don't know. Maybe Jarvis just likes Tic-tacs. At Furnado, April got to witness some crazy woman make a bunch of burly men dump off a huge aquarium with some goldfish in it. Jack Nought came in looking for something intimidating, and talked with April about her last pet - this intimidating lizard thing, I guess? - before singling out a dog she was interested in. Because dog people. And then at Caritas, thanks to a *feedback*ed-up order, Jake got the glitterbombing of his life.

... The word 'glitterbombing' pleases me in new and exciting ways. I'm gonna go ponder it further. Have a good Thursday, Fandom, and if you find yourself inexplicably covered in glitter in the near future, it totally wasn't me.
