Fandom Radio, Wednesday May 30

Aravis: *sounds of poking at things* I wonder what all of this does....

*Cher's dulcet tones singing Time after Time blasts over the radio*

Peter: *sound of slamming a switch off* Let's not wonder about that one again, shall we?

Aravis: *sulky* It's not as though I did that on purpose. And perhaps I wanted to listen to it anyway. Who are you to determine what songs should play on the radio?

Peter: We're not here to play songs. We're here to read the notes. Which are in front of you.

Aravis: I know that. I can see, thank you kindly. Perhaps I wanted to present an interlude first, though.

Peter: Very well then, Tarkheena. An interlude.

Aravis: ...no, I've changed my mind now. Let's just read the notes so we can leave.

Workshops

Peter: As you wish, Tarkheena. Apparently Constable Fraser oversaw the reconstruction of the school today. Bel and Conner work in the morning - and seriously, will the school be rebuilt with just two men? Phoebe brings Bel lunch, and Anders brings drinks. They complain jointly of not wishing to be injured any longer. Isn't Shawn a Healer? I'm sure he would be willing to help.

Aravis: Or surely if they're that injured, they should not be out fetching food and offering to pamper the able-bodied? Conner meanwhile eats his lunch before going to the clinic for some reason, Bel continues to work in the afternoon, and Anders and Phoebe talk about making the most of summer. My first suggestion as to that end would be to make yourselves well, and would not bedrest and relaxation aid you the most in this conquest? Perhaps I merely don't understand the way people are healed in this world.

Peter: "I can not say I understand either. Perhaps both of them should spend tomorrow in their beds with the able-bodied waiting on them? Professor Yondaime demonstrates basic ninja techniques which include walking on water, cloning themselves, and ...walking up a tree. This is considered basic? Sakurazaki asks Professor Yondaime if he can duplicate himself. ...I suppose cloning would cover that?

Aravis: What is 'cloning'?

Peter: Errr, making an exact copy?

Aravis: ...oh. I knew that, of course. I was just checking to see if you did. The annoying class taught by the annoying boy --

Peter: Who? Crichton? He's not annoying! He's a Stickbug!

Aravis: His betrothed is lovely. He is not. Now, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, they turn in last week's work, then adopt personas. How odd. And Molly asks John the Irritant to advise them on the use of flags, or somesuch.

Peter: STICKBUGS FOREVER! Right, so we apparently have a class called History in Action and today they learned about history by studying the Magna Carta and attempting to ambush King John. ... ... That's not how I remember my history.

Aravis: ...that's not the same John whom you just called an insect, is it?

Peter: No, that is John, King of England. I suppose he might have been an insect, but the history books don't say anything about that.

Aravis: I suppose it is possible, really. In the class about women -- what a marvelous idea, an entire class devoted to studying the better sex. Every boy should join it immediately -- there are specially guests, and then a great deal of blushing before the students begin their own performances. I wonder why they were blushing. Perhaps it was overwarm.

Peter: I wonder if they'd offer that class next term. *mutters* Girls are crazy. All of them.

Aravis: Boys are stupid. At least I'm not crazy enough to punch someone over someone's hair.

Peter: It was the principle of the matter. Honour was at stake.

Aravis: Whose honour was at stake, exactly?

Peter: ... Interdisciplinary Studies learns how to swim. The students do rather. I don't think classes swim. They get wet, float, and dog-paddle before they dry off. At least they got the order right, I suppose.

Aravis: I made it all the way to the floating thing and back! ...anyway, for food today people have made-up words. My school-assigned older sibling, Annette -- hello Annette! -- managed to eat in spite of her desire to live beneath a rock. Henry sat with her and they discussed grudges and shin-kicking. That is an excellent defence and I fully embrace it.

Peter: What exactly is the defence?

Aravis: Kicking people in the shins. It has worked in every instance that I've used it.

Peter: Ah. Hopefully the kicking is not random then and there is a defence for that as well. Vice Principal Hades had office hours today and was visited by my cabinmate Rikku who asked for boy advice and Savannah who wanted to know where her roommate was. ...She managed to lose a whole cabin full of people?

Dorms

Aravis: I wonder what Rikku needed to know, and if she brought tea. In the gym, Henry practices with his sword, and these notes say he was 'not dirty R-L-Y.' I'm sure he was relatively dirty, as swordwork is hardly a clean activity. Ami and he talk about feline experiences -- I am not certain what that means and I feel that perhaps I shouldn't know -- and Adam arrives to work as well.

Peter: Later the gym hosts Cheerleading practice. The cheerleaders warm up and then get down to practicing. The Coach watches the practice as do Tori and Phoebe. Did you try out as a cheerleader, Tarkheena?

Aravis: I do not know what one is, Majesty.

Peter: Girls who do gymnastic stunts to cheer on sports teams at the school.

Aravis: I would rather die. Now, this morning, Savannah...emos about Johnny asking her to...erm. To remove her shirt. I don't know if that's a cause for great, melodramatic unhappiness, as I have learned emo to mean. I, personally, would ensure he could never please a woman again, unless he was in such a position to be quite right in asking a lady to remove her clothing. Such as if insects had crawled onto it and were going to bite her, or she was on fire. Elsewhere, my roommate who I have not yet lived with, Karal, wishes to be reclusive but Jaina forces him to not be. That wasn't very kind.

Peter: Perhaps it was the kind act of a friend. Annette hides under her covers today, and Chad, errr, ahem, wakes up in an uncomfortable situation but Haku kindly helps him. In non-bed news - thank God - Sakurazaki is approached by an apologising Karal while she's trying to meditate. Your new roommate seems to have many females to cope with.

Aravis: As long as they do not wish to occupy the room when I am there, it is no business of mine. Some people have respect for other people's affairs not being their own.

Peter: Some people shirk their responsibilities.

Aravis: Some people do not have a responsibility to be nosy.

Peter: Very few people people have a responsibility to be nosy. Sometimes one's responsibility appears that way to outsiders though. I should think you'd understand the difference.

Aravis: I do, yes, but that does not make me your responsibility in any sense. CONTINUING ONWARD, Dib dreams and I truly wonder how they know that, I read a very boring book this afternoon, and...Alec and Abigail awake together. Why is this on the radio? Why do people need to know? Oh! Oh, perhaps they had a council late into the night and merely fell asleep together! Yes, that is quite fine and not at all tawdry. And meanwhile Johnny -- the boy with the shirt request? -- picks up Charlie for a date. I do hope he brought flowers. I understand that's the custom of gentlemen here.

Peter: It is, yes. How did you...no, wait, don't answer that.

Aravis: Because perhaps I am not so mistreated as you would believe. I know, it's absolutely shocking.

Peter: Then I am happy Booth's learning his lesson. Cassie makes a phone call in the dorms if anyone was wondering where she was this afternoon, and Roxas walks while slapping at bugs. I have heard that there is such a thing as bug spray, or, if you dislike the smell, you could simply ignore the insects and move on. Annette - Aravis' big sister apparently - talked to John Sheppard today about being kicked by Turtle who apparently won't be braid girl for long. I...don't want to know what that implies.

Town

Aravis: ...I did not know the turtle brothers had braids. Or were girls. Johnny opens the photograph hut, and there are movies in the park. Roxas is there, as are Johnny and Charlie, Yitzhak and Leo.

Peter: Aly is reading in the park and chats with Rikku about classes and clouds and the annoying of Hades. Robin heads to the pond with his banjo. Seriously? Wouldn't water harm a banjo? Also enjoying the water is Dr. Wilson on the beach. Cafe Fina is open as is Groovy Tunes, Sparky's, and Turtle and Canary.

Aravis: Over at the gym in town, Jaina is practicing with one of those energy swords that I was told about but have yet to see. She shows off at Deadpooluntil he shows her how to use a proper sword. Alec arrives to spar and kicks Deadpool in the knee. Oh, dear. A good escape method but possibly not the most noble technique. Kenpachi marvels at the glowing sword, and Yachiru...chews on Deadpool's head. Yes, that is what the notes say. I worry about you people, I really do. Seely -- hello Seely! Please do not do anything idiotic because of my company on the radio tonight! -- and Jaina discuss brooding and emo, and then he spars with Deadpool so as to learn what needs improvement. I do hope that turned out well and that I won't need to go over to Kraken and er...mock again. And as stated before, Alec is there.

Peter: If you do end up in Kraken, be sure to stop by and say hello, Tarkheena. I would hate to fail in my duties as a member of the cabin.

Aravis: I wouldn't wish to disrupt your important minding-the-business-of-others duties.

Peter: And I would not wish to interrupt your tantrums.

Aravis: Just as well, as I would be loathe to make you late for any brawls in ponds you might be missing.

Peter: Then we'd best finish the notes. Gwynn was still in the clinic this morning. I do hope you're feeling better, Gwynn. Jarod spent his last night at Caritas receiving a phone call from Jaye and speaking with Robin the Frog. Hmmpf. Robin the Frog, huh? Kabuto is OCD - I don't know what that is - at the Devil's Nest and gives Teddy ninjaing help.

Aravis: O, C and D are all letters. I would have hoped you already knew that.

Peter: Why, thank you Tarkheena for that absolutely enlightening comment.

Aravis: You are quite welcome. I do try to be informative. And...oh, more notes. Mel throws...a word I do not know...into a fire, and Henry and Ami meet outside Sphinx. Over in the clinic, Conner visited Gwynn. Oh dear. I do hope she recovers. Er, whoever she is.

Peter: Gwynn's a very nice girl. Uses a sword and bow mostly. Tori is enjoying a pleasant evening on the beach when Kenpachi and Yachiru show up and want to spar with her. And Conner tells Tori not to die of shock. I often find this to be good advice. Jim hates the Whatever class - don't you like to swim? And Haku plays with a ball of water. At a campfire. Were you worried the fire would escape?

Aravis: It could be a valid concern. In the Woods -- oh, do be careful not to stray too far if you do not wish to leave us -- Ami and Henry search for an abandoned shack. Elsewhere, Alec tells Dean not to be stupid. Always sound advice. And Sokka...oh, Sokka, you fool...tries to break into someone's home. At the movies in the park, Charlie and Johnny have a ticklefight, which is a perfectly innocent and healthy way of expressing affection and also exercising one's...er, fingertips, I suppose. Meanwhile, Bridge has come well-stocked for his date, and he talks with Charlie about some sort of TK ball, whatever that means.

Peter: And that looks to be all the notes we were given today so we might be finished. Squirrels? Will you let us out of the little room now?

*sounds of vaguely agreeable chittering*

Aravis: ...was that a yes?

Peter: I will hope the nodding doesn't mean 'now we shall eat your brains' in squirrel. Thus since we are no longer kept hostage, I say to you, good night, Fandom.

Aravis: Goodnight, Fandom. May no brain-eating squirrels make their way to your cabins.

Seely grinned as he listened to the radio. "Hi Aravis!"

You'd think he'd remember that the radio only went one way.

Savannah smiled as she listened to the radio and decided she very much wanted to meet Aravis.

"I could've told you the squirrels don't eat brains," Willow said, thinking that her boyfriend was very silly at times.
