Fandom Radio, Saturday, May 18th
Sam: So this is the famous radio station. It's about as bizarre as I anticipated. And... then some.
Kaidan: Specialist, I believe we're already on the air.
Sam: Wh-- you'd think they'd at least let us walk in the room first and get settled first.
Kaidan: Now that would just be too easy...
Kicking off, we have news about the school and your classes. Professor Priest introduced his class to the topic of Parlour Games with a rousing round of charades. Sounds like it was quite a team-building exercise. Meanwhile Archery class made sure all of the students were acquainted with the bows they'd be using. Another topic of discussion was the arrows, which I figure would be a big part of the whole archery thing. They tried out their bow and arrow combination once the basics had been laid out. And then it... says here that Zeela tried to talk to the Professor? I'm sure that's a typo. All our local teachers are accessible.
Sam: Perhaps it was just very loud in the room?
Kaidan: Maybe. Finally, Professor Batman introduced his class to the topic of survival by... swinging in and out and abandoning them to a group of angry gremlins. I... what? I'm sure that's against school policy.
Sam: And at least a little bit dangerous.
Kaidan: A lot dangerous. Speaking of school policy, Electroclash was really confused by a series of voicemails she got-- wait, that's really a thing that-- ohhhh.
Sam: Ah. Islandwide madness. That explains a lot.
Kaidan: Yeah. Uh... ...yeah. Down in the dorms, you all held quiet, with Natalie jotting down some song lyrics and Anya doing push-ups. That's a good one, Anya - it'll help you prepare for classes further down the road. Or... right now, I guess, if you're in Professor Batman's class...
*papers rustling*
Sam: All right... I suppose now all that's left is what happened in town. A sign fell over at Cafe Luke's, which apparently led to a rebrand: it's now simply Luke's. Across town, I had a relatively uneventful day at Portalocity, without very many phone calls at all, while at the same time, Alec at Freedom Arms apparently had a few too many phone calls. Such as one caller who... oh, my. There was an inquiry about prophylactics, it seems. That's... probably the wrong shop.
Kaidan: Why aren't these notes curated better? Kids can hear these broadcasts.
Sam: I suppose that's what happens when you've got squirrels--
*chittering*
Sam: Er, never mind. After finishing his inventory at Dite's, Sparkle took some time to study trigonometry. I quite liked that class in high school. Meanwhile, at Stark Industries -- I keep meaning to stop by there -- Ben enjoyed his first shift back after a year's break, and was visited by a confused Gertrude with questions about the phones, as well as Ender, who assured Ben that the voicemail messages he attempted to leave him that didn't ultimately reach Ben's phone weren't terribly explicit. Thank heavens for that, I suppose.
Kaidan: Specialist. I'm sure the island didn't need to know about that.
Sam: I'm sorry! It's surprisingly difficult to read aloud and self-censor at the same time. At the bars, Mike was serving a 'Booty Call' special at Caritas when Stiles came by to fret about a voicemail about -- er, underwear that he isn't sure where it went. The voicemail, not the, ah. Underwear.
Kaidan: Specialist!
Sam: I'm sorry! And lastly, Allie was feeling rather wary over at the Devil's Nest, before she was paid a visit by Lieuten-- ah, Staff Commander Alenko, my apologies, reporting on his new promotion. Congratulations, sir, by the way.
Kaidan: Thanks, Traynor. I believe that's it for the day. Everyone have a nice, normal Saturday.
