Fandom Radio, 5/6/07

It's Graduation Weekend Sunday, folks, which means we've got lots of news, and I, Nadia Santos, am the one to bring it to you. So strap yourselves in.

The school. In all its glorious burned up bits and pieces

So, apparently the school blowing up? Totally didn't stop Ares from posting grades. I admire his dedication to his job.

Dorms. Which didn't blow up, thankfully. Because all my stuff's there. So that would have sucked.

Aeryn and John woke up and . . . okay, they got engaged? Wow. That's just . . . wow. Congratulations, you two! And apparently there was wowing and omging from them, too. Tori stopped by to say goodbye to Marie. For the record? I'm not saying good-bye to anyone else for at least the next few days. I refuse. I've had to do it too much, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that, but I will say that I hope Marie has a safe trip and a great summer. Lana stopped in, too, and it was apparently very tearful, which is why I'm not saying goodbye. Summer asked for a post card and Conner asked for a visit if they miss each other on the other end of the vacation, which I think are both great ways to handle it, and Bridge pretended to be mad at her . . . which is not such a great way to handle it, but that's okay. Willow apparently agrees with me about too many people leaving. I'd propose that we put a stop to it, but . . . I have fantastic plans for my summer and I'm not breaking them, so no leaving bans. Goodbye bans are okay. Just say "I'll be seeing you" or something. Maybe something not so creepy, though? Bel was emo over Marie going away, too. But she's coming back, so it's okay.

More emo from Isabel and Parker about people leaving. If this whole broadcast is going to be about being emo about people going away, I'm going to stop reading these notes and just start making things up, okay? Would that be okay with everyone? No more emo! I declare this, right now! And you have to listen to me because--well, just because!

Ah! Here we go, a not-emo note: Anders and Phoebe cuddled and talked about families, specifically Phoebe's. No emo there, yay! Also, Jack read some mail, and Dean sent out an email about another birthday party.

Town, which had lots more people in it thanks to the graduating class that went out with a bang. Literally.

Jack went for a walk on the beach and met up with . . . his uncle Jack. Okay, not so much with the name creativity in that family. River met Uncle Jack, too, and he figured out that she was telepathic. Smart guy, that one. Cedric and Uncle Jack chatted about graduation, and . . . I'm just calling this guy UJ . . . UJ asked Parker if she was controlling any countries, yet. Good question, and if so, do you need someone to head up the intelligence department? I'm just asking.

Precious Roy was at brunch in the God of Biscuits, selling legless dogs getting his paperwork done. Excellent use of multitasking, sir. The Halliwells all met up at the Perk for breakfast. Chris and Wyatt? They think this is a Bad Idea. Sounds like family issues, so I'm not touching that with . . . well, with a really, really long stick. Fortunately, Tori was on hand in case they needed a rescue. Victor met lots of SOs and wanted info on the future from Wyatt. Because he has apparently never, ever watched a time-traveling sci-fi movie. Phoebe introduced Bel and Anders to Grams, and there was much threatening. Possibly involving shovels. Chris gets the low-down on Phoebe's summer plans. Grams was mad at Victor and proud of Phoebe. I'm proud of Phoebe, too. Probably for different reasons, though. Chris hit up Grams for power-controlling tips. Buy EnergyStar. That's my tip. Piper and Lindsey were nervous about the whole thing. Man, it's family. You're lucky to have one. What's the big deal? Whatever it is, it's apparently enough for Anders and Lindsey to start noting the nearest exits in case there was a need for an extraction. Weenies. Phoebe and Piper made a pact to stick together if things got out of hand. And again I say, what's the big? Family, people! Unless your family is made up of evil terrorists. Because that? Can totally suck. Chris chatted with Piper. See? No big deal.

. . .

Ah. Here it is. Wyatt orbed. And there was freakage and "all hell breaking loose". Hopefully, not literally. So, of course, Chris orbed under the table. Where he was comforted by Luna. Who . . . was under the table, I guess? Phoebe yelled at the brothers for making Piper run out of the Perk in tears. And suddenly? I'm kind of glad I grew up in an orphanage.

In hopefully more cheerful news, there was a graduation brunch in the park. Tori told Annette about things that happened at her old school. Did it blow up? Because if not? Noooooo comparison. Stark and Tori wondered if things will stay quiet. What, you mean now that the school is rubble? Maybe the school destroyed the source of Fandom's wackiness? What? It could totally happen. Tori and Luke both thought it sucked that they were separated from the guests during the alien fight. At least the guests weren't glued to their seats while a giant gremlin attacked. Seriously, I'm beginning to think it's some sort of final test to make sure you can graduate, or something. Veronica and Mac caught up on life, the universe, and everything. Veronica and Anders make nice to keep Phoebe happy. Considering what happened at her family brunch, I'd say that's a good plan. Zero pounced Aeryn and demanded to see her ring. That's so sweet. Though picturing Aeryn in a wedding dress is . . . kind of creepy. Alanna went ninja like to hug and congratulate Aeryn. And I'm thinking I need to listen to the radio more often. Parker was there to offer congratulations, too, and . . . yep. It made the radio. This is what I get for skipping listening to a few broadcasts, isn't it. I'm the last to know, I suppose. But not far behind Sam, which is good to know. Anakin knew ahead of time, though. Rory showed some incredible restraint and managed not to tackle Aeryn with congratulations. Good, because Aeryn could totally take Rory.

Alanna and Aly say goo--no, no, not reading that one. Alanna and Aly totally shared a chocolate malted soda. So there. Logan and Xander and Parker traded kid stories. And then talked about real estate. No, really, that's what it says here. Peter Parker thought it was a shame that John agreed to let Rory help with wedding planning. Moving on. Parker congratulated John and they talked about summer plans. Anakin and John do the manly equivalent of squeeing, bouncing, and hugging over the engagement. Jake and Mac both think that the aliens topped last year's inflatable gremlin. Which means by the time I graduate, the entire island will be in flames, or something. Something to look forward to, I guess? Peter Parker and the Hopeless-Savages, aka Zero and her family, talk about the ceremony and how kitten!Zero wasn't allowed to have coffee. Veronica gave Bel a special graduation present, and the notes specify that it wasn't dirty, which means that I'm totally tempted to say that it was, and they discussed the future. Naomi and Stanley chatted. It doesn't say what about, so I'm going to say that they discussed the reasons why it's illegal to remove the tags from mattresses. Cam met Cam and they plotted to get Zoe to name her kid Cameron. There are worse names. Mordechai, for example. Tori and Conner and a bunch of their guests are joined by Z and Bridge . . . and Xander, who for some reason, doesn't fit in with that crowd, but that just keeps things diverse, I guess. John and Aeryn talked about . . . okay, guess. No, really. I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count. Annette tells Stanley that, no, that seat isn't taken. Sam, Jack, and Anakin all hung out. Veronica tried to get Cam to leave early thanks to the school blowing up. I don't know that I approve of that. Annette, Parker, and Kawalsky all said--er--that is, they all talked to the Tick. About . . . corn on the cob. And its uses for crime fighting.

In another part of town, Jim decided that he worked at OrangeShoeSevenAide, now. I'm sure there was great wackiness ensuing and the mun knows for sure and wants to go back and read more of those threads. Angel and Sean hung out at the Perk, and John showed up to celebrate the impending death of his bachelorhood. Jaye wanted Angel to take her with him to LA. Angel congratulated Bel and there was more talk of plans for the future. Zero told Angel that she's headed his way come the fall. Alanna totally had nothing to do with the school blowing up. Vladdie and Sean were puppies at each other while Angel and Rory chatted. Molly was glad that Angel called to let her know he was in town. That's the sort of news I like giving.

Over on the causeway, Parker saw her father off, and in the park, Krycek decided to go for a walk. Elliot prepared to leav--er--bake cookies. Arashi, Aly, and Deadpool planned a roadtrip. And I agree wholeheartedly with this squirrel when it says that the roads may never be the same again. Arashi wrote a letter. Yomiko sent her books with some moving--um--also . . . baked . . . cookies. You people are making it very hard for me to make sure there's no more emo in this broadcast! Thursday told Logan about her new library position, and there's more notes there, but I'm not reading them, so nyeah.

Dr. Doogie spent the morning scrubbing things down in the clinic, today, and Stark's evening shift was just as quiet. Not so much Caritas, though, where GOB was apparently on the look out for "hot moms". Ugh. I can't believe I thought he was smart, once upon a time. Lindsey sang a song for Piper. Cal threatened to remove GOB's spleen. Parker and Cal gossiped. Cal and Aeryn discussed--not Aeryn's engagement, but Cal's situation. Leo was glad he's male. Oooookay. . . . Piper and Lindsey were cute together. Piper asked Alanna how it felt to be a graduate. I'm thinking "sore". Parker said hello to Sir Myles, whoever that is, and GOB questioned Aeryn's womanhood. I'm thinking there was more spleen threatening, on that one.

And this just in, Dean Mr. The Tick is--is--okay, I won't back off this one. He's left. We will miss you and your giant blue outfit and antenae a whole lot, Former Dean Mr. The Tick. A whole lot.

And that's all I've got for you this evening, Fandom. Here's to a great summer, wherever you might be spending it.
