Fandom Radio, Tuesday, November 20th

Ah, Fandom. We've survived another one of those weekends, and, as usual, I get to report on the aftermath. I shall endeavour to keep personal feelings on the nature of this weekend's strangeness from colouring my broadcast too much, but so help me, I'm actually jealous of a few of you.

A touch. Nothing particularly noteworthy, really.

... You know what? I'm just going to read these notes.

At the School, there was a film about a tree that turns people into zombies in Philosophy 102. If that were a real thing, I imagine a lot of people would never notice any difference, actually. Two Lions also had a film day. In order to demonstrate gaining power through celebrity, they watched Ev--

... They're actually pretty good at that. Huh.

How to Start a Business discussed days off, and then got to take the rest of it because this is Thanksgiving week. I can take or leave the holiday, myself, but I will enjoy having my Friday morning to myself this week. William was surrounded by Thanksgiving cookbooks in the library yesterday, and Science! Club explored the marvels of technologically sustained flight, inspired by the weekend and how Topher spend it flying.

That's bloody terrifying.

Down at the Dorms, Mercy was in the fifth floor common room, panicking and trying to cancel all of the internet shopping that she'd done, and later in the day, in the same place, Toby had pizza and was watching... some live feed about a desert bus. Was there a cactibear cameo? Toby got to explain the whole television marathon fundraiser concept to Sia, and then he and Richie decided that people doing ridiculous things on television for charity definitely beat out children ringing bells on the side of the road, asking you to put money into a pot.

In Town, Karla and Warren woke up to find their powers restored to them, lucky sods, and then discussed vacationing in Hawaii in order to get away from the combined madness of Fandom and Sunnydale. My new flatmate and employee Lizzie made a video-blog entry about the serendipity that led to her coming to the island and accepting a job offer that I suspect was Fandom whimsy in and of itself. Alice and Cade were big into reading at their respective workplaces, with Alice reading about bows at the Wellspring Arms and Cade wondering why anybody would need potato gloves while looking through a catalogue at Stark Industries.

So the potato's hands don't get cold, I suppose. Next I'm certain it'll be little goggles for all their eyes. This is Fandom. Very little surprises me around here these days.

Jack was blissfully free from Christmas music - at least for now - while he worked on his computer at the Devil's Nest. Kaidan dropped in to ask about Jack's studies, and then talked a little about his own class and culture shock, which led to Jack talking about the time he nearly got into a fight in study hall. Priestly was normal and back to cooking at Café Luke's. Karla was also thankful that he was back to normal, as it meant that she could run around sampling the food. I am so stunned by this revelation about your appetite, Karla, you have no idea. Honest. And, at Caritas, Jake was normal and drinking rum. Which from what I've heard about Canadians over the years seems fairly normal, yes.

And that appears to be all of the notes. I'll leave you lot to going about the rest of your day to this, a rousing reprise of Don't Cry For Me Argentina, as performed by squirrels. You're welcome.
