Fandom Radio, Tuesday, November 6th

No coffee. I have no coffee. I’ve just gotten into the habit of putting the timer on my coffee pot for Tuesday mornings, and now I don’t have any coffee to be found. I know I could just go out and buy more, but I didn’t have the opportunity to yesterday. So.

Fandom. This is Jonothon Starsmore, the decaffeinated lower-middle class teacher, theatre owner, radio host, and occasional costumed vigilante - there’s little point in having a secret identity with a face like this - I’m not a priest, I was never fabulously wealthy or a rockstar, I don’t, in fact, lead a cult dedicated to the next coming of the Apocalypse, and I’m here to read the news. Tiredly. Did I mention my coffee is gone? And I tripped on a blue ass on the way in to the station this morning. No, it didn’t belong to me.

First things first, School, where Philosophy 102 watched a film about prehistoric sharks giving lifeguards a somewhat difficult time. Two Lions discussed democracy, and gave students an opportunity to vote on what the topic for the next lesson would be. Zayne’s Business class watched a film about someone who just happens to do well at business without any effort, and don’t we all wish we had that ability? In the library, William had his hands full with the Christmas magazines, because good lord we’re going to have that holiday shoved down our throats from now until the bloody New Year, aren’t we? And Science! Club was making use of Danger Shop technology to split atoms. I can see no way that can possibly go poorly.

At the Dorms, Tony was repressing the weekend in the fourth floor common room by eating takeout and watching educational videos about chemical safety. Jessica came in and watched for a moment, which led into discussion about shower videos, which, of course, led into talk about the weekend. Mr. Stark, you’re going to forever be known as ‘Benny Swads’ so long as I’m doing Tuesday Radio. You’re welcome. Karolina made herself into an under-the-covers-lump in her room yesterday morning, a reaction that I think a good many other people shared. At least Olive was there to coax her back out again with chocolate. Later in the day, Olive sent an email in the comfort and safety of that same dorm room, and then Jim stopped in, so they discussed whether or not he was invited to her birthday, and then politics. I won’t be voting today, by the way. I’m not even certain I could vote if I wanted to. So please, America, don’t bugger it up.

Moving along into Town, where Dinah and Priestly woke up in a crypt, where they discussed important things like pony mothers and how dying seems more impersonal when there’s enough melodrama involved. Good to know. Bruce Wayne was making arrangements over the phone for his return to Gotham, and was visited by Cara, who stopped by to give him a new condom, and Cassidy, who was hopefully feeling less devious than she was on the weekend.

Cade had his eyes closed at Stark Industries when Atton came by to throw a rock at his head, which led to drinking, probably mostly about how Cade was a Skywalker over the weekend. Cade did decide to work, at least, when Mercy stopped in. Young women make for good incentive, Cade?

At the Boards, I was returning no-longer-orphans to their rightful families after a weekend of being a priest or some such rubbish, and I got to assure April that I don't usually go around collecting small children or bottle-feeding grown men, and tell Rilla that she's doing an excellent job with young Jims. All of the children have gone back to their usual homes, but I still don't have my coffee. Life isn't fair.

Jack was bandaged up for his shift at the Devil's Nest, where he laughed at Derek's tale of waking up handcuffed to a bed by Stiles in the stripper pole suite. Seems like an appropriate reaction to the weekend, doesn't it? He checked up on Kaidan, who helped him with his bandages, and commiserated with Allie about that one time that Fandom made him into a tormented vampire.

Jaina was at the Perk with coffee, because even the notes are taunting me now, Alice was building towers with quarters at the Wellspring Arms, and at Caritas, Jake had leaves in his hair. Fashion statement or result of the insane weekend? I'll let you decide.

And that's it for the notes this morning, so if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go and buy coffee. By the kilo. A lot of it. I might even drink it all in one go and then buy more. It's too bloody early in the morning to be up reading these notes without it.
