Fandom Radio, Tuesday, October 30th
Good morning, Fandom. It's Tuesday morning, this is Jonothon Starsmore, and for once I don't have any reason to complain about my personal state before I start the broadcast. I have coffee, I got something akin to sleep last night. I might actually be flat-out boring this morning as a result, it's difficult to tell.
Let's start with the notes and find out, shall we?
Yesterday at the School, Philosophy 102 watched a zombie film, which I think is a perfectly valid use of classtime in the few days leading up to Halloween. Unless it was intended to be a cautionary tale or a survival guide, I suppose. Around here, it could be valid information any day of the week. Two Lions watched a spy film which I'm pretty certain was intended to be legitimately educational, and How To Start a Business didn't bother with educational video, making do with a good old-fashioned lecture on advertising, instead.
William had a touch of candy rain in the library, complete with candy corn - far too sweet for me, I've found - on the desk. Even the squirrels are recoiling. Does anyone out there actually like candy corn? Or is that one of those things that exists in spite of it all, like the Macarena and Cactibear?
And Science-with-an-exclamation-point club braved any chance of rain last night in order to take in the evening sky through telescopes. I hear last night was also a full moon? Hopefully there wasn't too much cloud cover to take it in, kids.
Nobody did anything in the Dorms yesterday, which makes my job that much easier. Good show, students. Extra credit.
And in Town, perhaps so that I know that at least the adults of the island are still alive, people went about with their nine-to-five as usual. Alice was in the Wellspring Arms, reading up on meditation. Yeul was doing some people-watching at the Perk, which is something I'm guilty of myself, from time to time. Jack Priest had a stocked bar and some storm-themed music on the dance floor at the Devil's Nest, and I'll take this moment to note that I'll be screening the squirrels' playlist after the broadcast for anything that would be in terrible taste, lest this note gave them any ideas. Derek came into the bar to complain about being stranded on the East coast, and he and Jack talked about different names for moons. If I could name one, I think I might go with Frank. It's not a mouthful. To the point. And besides, Bob is likely to already be taken.
At the MST 3K last night, Jeremy and Stacey went out on a date. Apparently, this went even better than Jeremy's birthday, and I'm not certain if I'm to take that to mean that the date was a smashing success, or that the birthday was a horrible nightmare mess. My congratulations or condolences. Please apply them wherever applicable. And at Caritas, Jake discovered an entirely new category of horror when he arrived to find the Zombie Band made up like mimes.
Let's take a moment to absorb that, shall we?
You know, the Devil's Nest is closer to where I live, I think I might start going there for drinks until after Halloween. Speaking of which, feel free to stop by the Boards today to help me set up a Haunted House, which will be open to the public all day tomorrow.
What? If I'm going to be in here every Tuesday morning, I might as well use that to my advantage. This is Jonothon Starsmore, and that has been the news. Have a good day, Fandom.
