Ugh, this again? It feels as though I was just doing this last week. I suppose the only thing for it is to just get it done and over with. At least the squirrels gave me time enough to grab coffee on the way, this morning.
They're learning.
The stack of notes seems to be manageable today, too. You must all have been sleeping off the weekend. Or else hiding until you could be good and certain that your visitors have left. Which of the two I was doing, I'll never tell.
People did emerge from hiding, of course, in order to attend classes at the School. Students in Philosophy 102 were treated to a cinematic gem known as 2012: Ice Age, which sounds as though it was made with the same standards as Cactibear in mind. Cunning and logic went hand in hand in Two Lions, and the teachers had their class exercise their minds with riddles and brain teasers. How to Start a Business spoke of finances. Something that can't hurt to know even if you aren't starting a business, really. In the library, William walked in to find the history books staging a revolution, and SCIENCE! club was playing with cotton swabs and genetics, as any normal high school science club might.
Please, no cloning your classmates, kids. They're not terribly likely to agree to do your homework for you, believe it or not.
In the Dorms, Jim was listening to unpleasant messages in his room, which I'm certain he dealt with in a healthy, responsible manner.
Olive was in the fourth floor common room, working on her Halloween costume while watching Jeopardy... which reminds me that my favourite holiday is coming up, and I really should start preparing for it. Haunted House at the Boards, perhaps? Theatres are fantastic for that sort of thing. Jim came in and talked Olive around in circles for a while about game shows and Halloween costumes, before Olive figured out why he wasn't entirely coherent. Worrying ensued. Jim and Jessica both confirmed that they knew one another's names before talking about how their respective weekends went, which, of course, led into talk of dragons, which Jim was sorry to have missed. We usually have a few about in some place or other. It's really just a matter of knowing where to look, I think. Olive and Jessica spoke of Halloween costumes as well, which led into the 'budget last-minute ghost costume' talk, which, of course, led into home videos with cheap special effects and well-timed screaming. Sounds like something I'd watch, to be honest.
And now, moving onto my last page of notes, with what happened in Town yesterday. Cade seems to have discovered the joy of mixing chocolate with coffee, as he was washing his chocolate-covered espresso beans down with a mocha at Stark Industries and really, it's a wonder the lad didn't explode. The Café Luke's staff was mocking Priestly, which wasn't terribly sporting as he seemed to be feeling a little low.
Jack Priest was sorting through mail at the Devil's Nest when Tiny arrived for his shift. Kate Gregson was sitting at the bar when Luke greeted her with a Happy Birthday kiss, and they caught up, particularly on the fact that her reality just breezed through six months in a matter of a single Fandom day. My sympathies, Kate. I've been through that, myself. Kate explained the time-skip to Jack as well, but mostly she was just happy to see him again. Derek made a point to check up on Jack, who was thankful that Scott and Alcide got off the island in one piece and with trousers on... which, yes, is generally a good idea. Kate gave Eric a hug and returned his shirts to him, six months older and two days later, so I can't imagine he was terribly concerned about their being gone in the first place. And then Eric and Derek talked about a nude Alcide, and different breeds of werewolf, which just leaves me wondering how many there were on the island this weekend.
And, at Caritas, Jake got to deal with a call from home, lucky man.
And I believe that's everything for this week. I'm going to head back to the Boards and contemplate just what it would take to convert my theatre into a haunted house in time for Halloween. Have a good day, Fandom.
Please, wear clothing.
