Fandom Radio, Tuesday, August 7th
Good morning, Fandom. It's Tuesday again, which means you lot get to put up with me. Do try to contain your excitement. This moment is going to be fleeting, at best. You wouldn't want to miss it.
At the School, the library was full of paper planes from top to bottom, which William had to deal with. Ender had his Practical Philosophy class discuss who people were and why in that alternate timeline from the other week, and his students seemed quite anxious to talk about it. Tara and Ender talked about what's going on in Ben's world and how they're both adjusting in the wake of the other week, as well. Art Games was all about paint, and how to get extra messy with it. I know they were doing some sort of impressionist... thing... but the notes are talking about paint-filled balloons and slip and slides. I'm just calling it now and saying it was a paint war.
In Poetry 101, Romeo taught his students about the writing game, Exquisite Corpse, before unleashing them on a random text generator and telling them to make poems with it. That... almost sounds tempting, actually. I wonder if it can be used to generate song lyrics, as well. And, after covering different sorts of weapons, Zayne took his Middle of a War class to the gun range and to the salle, with proper safety precautions in place in both, I assure you.
Next we have notes for the Dorms, which, to my eternal relief, never seem to have anything particularly dirty to report on Tuesday mornings. No, this week the squirrels managed to catch Cassidy gardening. Evan managed to catch her out there as well, thanks to a tip from Raven, and they bonded over books and fairy tales and people not judging people because of how they look. I... er... no comment. Karolina also found the garden, and Cassidy encouraged her to start planting things there as well.
Topher had a fair bit on his mind after returning to the island from a visit with Peter, and Billy was there to talk to him about what happened in the other timeline, and forgiveness, and eyeliner. I can see how these three things could potentially be related, sure. And then Victor dropped in as well, wanting explanations for why Topher had been the way Topher had been. But at least Victor didn't punch him. Good job, lad.
And, finally, we have the notes from Town, where Angelica's paint-splattered hair was being held back by... scrunchies? By scrunchies at the Gig. I'm not certain if this is an Olympics thing or an 80s thing, but either way... there you have it. At the Devil's Nest, the Jack of the not-a-student variety was placing bets with Tiny on the results of the Olympic women's football matches. Before you even start chittering at me, squirrels, I'm from London, these Olympics are in London, and we've been playing the bloody sport in England since before America was even a thought. I'll call it football if I want to.
*Chi-*
Football.
Mitchell stopped by the Devil's Nest to pay Jack a visit, and after some complaining about being unable to escape the Olympics even here, the two of them talked about last week, how Bo had killed Jack, and how exactly all of that had come about. And, at the Chilly Boulder, Jaye had a Madrox-chihuahua, and she wasn't about to share her ice cream with him. I'd feel sorry for him, but, well, Madrox. April and Rory were both surprised to see Jaye had a rat-dog, but while Jaye's discussion with April seemed to veer more into talk of getaway rickshaws and ice cubes, she and Rory really mostly just talked about whether or not it was safe to let Rory's little girl pet Jamie, and what they'd do in case of chihuahua duplication.
Why does the island not have an emergency evacuation plan in case of being overrun by Madrox chihuahuas, anyhow? I should think that would have the potential to cause the unraveling of sanity as we know it, around here. And that's the horrifying thought that I'll leave you all on today, Fandom. Ruminate on it, come up with plans for escape. The age of the Jamie Madrox rat-dogs might very well be nigh. And you can't kick them. Kicking them only makes more.
This is Jonothon Starsmore, and on that happy note, I'll leave you all to the rest of your Tuesday.
