Fandom Radio, Tuesday, July 10th

If it isn't too hot it's bloody raining. You may consider this your Fandom Island weather forecast for the day, as spoken by somebody who isn't even remotely qualified. Outside at right this very moment, there's rain. And they're calling for a high today of somewhere in the realm of dear bloody lord will it ever stop.

And this is Jonothon Starsmore, with the news. But really, that was the important part. Stay indoors. It isn't worth it. And you can put away that umbrella, squirrels. I'm inside already, I don't need it.

*FWOOMP*

… Suit yourselves. I'll just be over here, reading the notes, while you try to get that thing closed again.

Starting, of course, with the notes from School, where Ender's Practical Philosophy class talked about beginnings, new phases, and change. Natalie seemed to know a thing or two about change herself, as she stayed behind after class to inform Ender that she'd missed the first class due to being a snake. Art Games took place in a Danger Shop playground, where students were given chalk to do with as they pleased. I wonder how many students used their chalk to make inappropriate drawings under the slide. Where there are teens and an opportunity for graffiti, after all...

Romeo wasn't there to teach Poetry class after coming down with a case of the puma, and so Cassie had them watch a movie called... Well, Poetry. Fitting. So You're In The Middle of a War talked about wartime morals, and the students discussed where their own particular morals sat. And, in Study Hall, Madrox had to deal with yet more bananas. And so... Banana splits. I would complain that I never got banana splits when I was a student here, but, well...

Perhaps I'll just move on to the Dorms. Miriam had herself a bowl of cereal in the fifth floor common room, where she was watching meta for Final Destination. A bloody terrible movie, isn't it? I might have to dig out my copy and watch it again, myself. Alex got to hear all about how wrong the movie was, and about how you can't cheat death. Which is true enough. Personally, I had no inclination to cheat on her while she and I were an item...

… Right. Notes. Jace was in his room, reading, when Natalie stopped by to tell him about her adventures as a snake. The conversation turned, then, into talk of missing roommates, and decontamination of the currently unoccupied sides of their rooms. Alec stopped in and asked about what sorts of books one reads depending on the weather, and they also talked about missing roommates. Given all the animal transformations going on lately, perhaps all of these people leaving the island know something that the rest of us don't.

My point is further proven by this note from Town. William is a beagle at the moment, yet another victim of this animal transformation epidemic, and Ender was the lucky one who got to puppy-sit him yesterday at Stark Industries. While William sniffed about at a stack of random mangoes - which would be an excellent band name - Ben showed up with food and they had a talk about getting used to things like people suddenly becoming animals, and how they'll manage if that particular bit of Fandom strangeness follows them when they leave the island.

At Atlas Gym, Natasha was organizing class schedules when Clint came in with a cup from The Perk in either hand. You can probably tell whether or not he loves you by checking to see if those drinks were iced, Natasha. Angelica was taking the horses for a run at the Gig, taking advantage of the slight break in the weather, and at Strokes of Genius, Savannah was hiring. And is probably still hiring, since I assume nobody really wanted to venture out of the air conditioning long enough yesterday to hunt for a job.

That seems to be all of the notes for today. And now that the squirrels have finally gotten their umbrella closed, I'm going to do this- *FWOOMP* - and make my way back to the Boards in the rain. Good day, Fandom.
