WTFH, Tuesday, March 20th
And it's time once again for the news of yesterday, today! Happy Tuesday, Fandom Island. This is your host, Ronan Nolan, and from the pile of notes, it looks like you won't have to put up with me for too long today!
School!
Defending Yourself covered terrain, using the woods, and trapping, before students were instructed to 'do something.' No word on whether or not doing a handstand would qualify, or if he wants something more specific! Basic Strategy, meanwhile, started a military strategy unit, with Tyrion talking about various types of weapons before he armed the students with their own weapons and set them upon each other: pillows versus pies! Philosophy 101 covered a good Irish movie this week, with the students watching Awakening Fred, and Food Tour of Fandom ate Moroccon cuisine and watched Rabatwhich, as my friendly squirrel points out, some people may not realise is meta for Casablanca.
Over in the library, William had trouble with penguins -- shocking, that -- and in the office, the moose was having technical difficulties.
With squirrels.
... ... Hee. Moose and squirrel.
Dorms!
Sam staggered home pretty beaten up, apparently; Natalie came by and he was understandably unresponsive, so they tried not to fight and she got him painkillers.
Seriously. Does no one in this town go to the clinic? Although I'm probably not the best to say that, anyway, so. Carry on!
Over in her room, Annie got into college, which, yay! but didn't get financial aid, which, boo. Maybe Fandom should start looking into college scholarships for its needier students? Especially people who want to go to college but come from worlds without them. And, over in the salle, Gabrielle was meditating and practicing with sai when Wesley showed up and Gabrielle talked about having gone home to keep Caesar from enslaving the Amazons before Brutus killed him.
... Sounds like a fun trip.
Town!
It was our usual Ender day at Stark Industries, and our usual Ben lunch, although less with the lunch and more with the stare, then ogle, then pounce this week.
I'm sure the squirrels -- and everyone listening -- are really complaining about that.
Over in the park, Daenerys was trying to encourage her dragons to fly and that is possibly the coolest sentence I have ever gotten to read on radio, so thank you, Daenerys! Raven marveled at the way they're growing before using her soul-self to try to spur them higher, while Tara just marveled, because she doesn't have dragons at home outside of stories. And people summoning them from other dimensions, which doesn't happen terribly often, apparently. She ended up explaining the kind of magic she does to Daenerys, as well, as Daenerys has apparently had an... unfortunate experience with a witch back home.
Firekeeper and Blind Seer came by, as well, after having raced -- Blind Seer, on account of four legs, for those wondering who won -- and Firekeeper climbed a tree, both because Blind Seer can't and to try and encourage the dragons' efforts. Loki was by, too, with his magpie Ikol, who he introduced to Daenerys.
In the Devil's Nest, Joan had receipts and spreadsheets, and I do not envy her them at all, while Annie's special at Goodvalor's Little Bivoli was anxiety.
Sorry, ANXIETY. Apparently I need to make sure I get the capitalisation correct.
Tino still had a St. Patrick's Day hat at Caritas, which Jake tried to convince him to give up already, seriously, Powers, you Americans and your ridiculous green everything. You know what we call St. Patrick's Day in Ireland?
Another night at the pub!
At least no one's tried to make green Guinness.
And, finally, I was at the clinic, where...
...
Why would you paint the roses white?
At this point, I guess I probably just shouldn't ask. This is Ronan Nolan signing off, everyone -- thanks for listening to the news of yesterday, today!
