Fandom Radio, Saturday, January 6, 2007
Hello Fandom! This is Willow Rosenberg, reporting for Fandom Radio, where the "F" stands for Fandom because let's face it it'd be really confusing it it stood for something else. I mean sure, it could actually stand for French Fries, but first off that's two words so already we're stretching the definition of initials, plus since I don't actually have any potato-related news everything I'd say would be really off-topic. Chaos would ensue, the world would end, and it would be all my fault. I can't handle that kind of guilt, people. Let's just not go there.
Instead, let's have news!
School! WHICH IS STARTING AGAIN SOON YAY!!!!!!!
Today the office is open and getting ready for those all-important Detentions. Also getting ready was Seely Booth, who helped out with the tests on the brand new crotch-kicking machine. It wasn't a formal Detention per se, but practice does make perfect.
Related to this, I'd like to warn all the new female students and the androgynous looking male ones that if you see Seely Booth you can save yourself a whole bunch of time by slapping him before he gets a word out. If you don't know who Seely is, he's the guy who looks like Angel but isn't.
The Doctor was in his classroom today and was visited by Dean, Jack, Ellie, and Zack. I have no idea if they intended that to rhyme, but it does make you bounce if you say it over and over again.
Dorms, where we can store our school supplies!!!
So much going on! And so many new people! Hi new people! It's nice to meet you! I look forward to when I can hear your voice as well. Unless you're mute, in which case I look forward to talking with you in some other fashion. We could write things down, for instance. There's no discrimination here in Fandom. I feel that's very important to point out.
Anyway, Isabel does Sudoku in her room, which is my kinda dirty if you ask me. There are days when I'd love to be trapped in my room with nothing but geometry theorems. I'll stop now before this broadcast gets too naughty. Although? One word: Proofs. Oooooo.
Ahem.
Cedric is reading when Jack stops by. I approve of all these scholastic activities on a weekend. Administration? Take note. There could be actual classes here. I'm just saying.
Blair brings River food, which is very thoughtful of him. Broots stops by as Parker enjoys her birthday gifts. Happy birthday, Parker! Ray stops by as Molly gets a phonecall. You shouldn't eavesdrop on phone conversations, Ray. It's not polite. Jack flips through books in his room and OH MY GOD JACK IS ACTUALLY STUDYING INSTEAD OF GETTING NAKED WITH SOMEONE! I never thought this day would come. I feel lightheaded.
*sound of chittering*
What's that? Oh, that's so sweet of you but I'm not old enough to drink yet. Do you have anything in a nice chocolate milk?
*more chittering*
Thank you! You guys are so sweet!
Back to what is possibly a sign of an apocalypse, and I would know, Parker brings Jack a present, River brings him a souvenir, and Isabel and Dawn are very silly at him. Did it involve funny glasses? I love funny glasses. They're like a disguise that make you look smarter. Also kind of masculine if they've got a mustache.
Weiss beats his head against a wall. The wall quietly plots revenge because though it can't talk, it can still hold a grudge. Summer makes really bad coffee and is teased about this by Chris. The coffee takes advantage of the distraction to start smoking cigarettes and hanging out with the wrong crowd. Speaking of cigarettes, I hope some of you have made it your resolution to quit this year. NOT THAT I'M NAMING NAMES OR ANYTHING, ANDERS!
Marie wraps presents in her room. Which I hope wasn't meant to be a surprise for me because boy do you squirrels owe Marie an apology if it was. Zuko tells my most wonderful roomie about his plans to capture the Avatar, and I make a mental note to Google that to find out what the heck he's talking about. I'll keep Safe Search on just in case.
Also, Henry writes in his journal and, if he's listening to radio right now, subsequently finds out that the squirrels of Fandom are like weetiny furry ninjas who are a little on the nosy side. But they're very nice, I promise!
*chitters*
Ooh! Chocolate milk and a crazy straw! You guys are the best!
*happy chitters*
Moving on to the common room that is two floors not as cool as five - sorry, newbies, but it's true - Tori watches cartoons on the television. I have to admit that next to studying that is a very acceptable Saturday-related activity. That and spending all day snuggling and smooching with your boyfriend.
...not that I know anybody who did that today. Ahem.
Tori wonders about the appeal of Bitterwoman with Walter and okay, I grant that some of you new kids are from different dimensions and times and countries and what have you, but the awesomeness of Bitterwoman goes without saying and anyone who disagrees with that can just step outside. Because that's a good way to head into town and purchase the DVDs that will allow you to appreciate the show by doing a whole marathon of it one day. Which would make a great dorm activity now that I think about it.
Hermione tells Tori about Thursday's 52 floor library and oh my god my mouth just completely filled with drool. You people are killing me today! Alanna almost reintroduces Faithful to Tori. I'm surprised Faithful didn't pretend to be his own twin just to mess with people. Walter tells Alanna about the adventures he and Pippi had with Locker 327. Locker 327 bragged about it to locker 328 but was sadly snubbed because 328's kind of snotty.
Chris Halliwell discusses being a newbie with Tori, and possibly also talks about the shame of being a Halliwell who for some reason didn't earn the right to have a name that started with the letter P. Walter tells Chris stories about Piper and Nadia and for Chris's sake I hope at least one of them had their clothes on.
Annette uses cartoons and Tori to cheer herself up. Awh, don't be sad, Annette! We're all very friendly and snuggly here! Except for Seely who is too snuggly but I've already covered the slapping and crotch-kicking with him.
Annette and Walter also ponder their class schedules. Hermione and Annette meet, and decide that Pippi's pancakes are the best. That's because they're made by a redhead.
Haruhi and Tori worry about getting lost. We've got classes that help out with that. Hermione fills Haruhi in on the invasions which very thoughtfully do not interrupt our classes. I never thought I'd be thankful to trolls but Hermione does make a good point. Barbara Gordon multitasks the two best things to do on a Saturday by studying on her laptop and watching TV. Way to go Barbara!
Down in the common room that's one extra floor less cool, Sam makes coffee and watches TV. Oh - I've got a note here to help clear up the confusion on students with similar names. This is the Sam who isn't Dean's brother. There, that should help.
Sam debates superhero fashion with Jake "Have a coffee, need a coffee" Gavin, and I'm sure you both decided that Bitterwoman's was the best. Sam and Wyatt get to know each other - not dirty - but she doesn't have much to tell him about Piper and Phoebe. How could you not mention that totally cool thing Piper does with her hands??
Wyatt and Zero discuss Fandom's timeline issues. I've got a whole spreadsheet on this if anybody needs help. Sam tells Cassie why the pastries have warning labels on them. Did someone order snickerdoodles again? Wyatt tells Cassie how he turned Chris into a water cooler yesterday and the sad thing is that in Fandom I have absolutely no idea if he's kidding.
Zero explains to Cassie how the free common room food works. For those students who still need to know: there's food, it's in a common room, and it's free. I hope that helped! Draco - hi Draco! - gets coffee and donuts. Jake immediately bodyslams him to the ground for daring to touch the precious caffiene. Tannim and Sam introduce themselves and talk about home. Jake notices Tannim and shakes him down on the odd chance he's one of those communists who preferrs decaf. Tannim and Zero are happy about unusual names. Door joins them and immediately forms a club. Wyatt warns Tannim about how glitter equals boykissy and Tannim is skeptical. Jaye? I leave this in your capable hands.
Zero checks with the bakery to make sure that Sam didn't actually make the food. Then she talks about how her New Year's Eve didn't involve fireworks. Neither did mine. Of course my New Year's Eve technically didn't involve the new, the year, or the eve either, but you know what makes up for that? Boyfriend in armor fighting a tournament. More than an acceptable substitute, let me tell you.
Slightly closer to five but still lacking that one floor of coolness, Henry makes eggs. I'm assuming this is in the sense of cooking them and not in the sense of - um - yeah. Not that there's anything wrong with that! Just... maybe use labels so we don't eat them by accident, is all.
Dean helps out with the egg-cooking and talks about exploding things for fun. Tyler immediately makes plans for what he's going to do tomorrow.
Peter Petrelli meets Henry and - uh. Okay. Multiple Peters. Hmm. Okay, for you new students: Peter Parker is the guy who is not as jerky as his last name would imply; Peter Griffin is the Peter who is festively plump; Pete Hutter is the Pete who got expelled for dying; Peter Pevensie is the smart, brave, handsome, and utterly wonderful Peter who if any of you new girls even think about touching I will curse you so hard your liver will turn into raspberries; and Peter Petrelli is the Peter I haven't met yet.
There, that should clear it up.
So Peter Petrelli jumps off of the back of the couch because apparently he was raised in a barn where people don't respect the furniture, and he finds out that Teddy is an alien. Hopefully someone explained to Peter that in Fandom we don't mean that in the "Let's build a fence to stop them" sense.
I am told that if any scrambled egg monsters show up in Fandom we can blame Teddy and Dean. You couldn't jump off the furniture like normal weirdos? Henry and Teddy are not impressed by the eggs that Henry made. The eggs then burst into tears because they were only trying their best, darn it!
Mac shows up looking for coffee and it is a wise girl who does that floors away from Jake Gavin. Teddy turns green and talks about freaking out the newbies. Is turning green really raising the bar that high for strangeness in Fandom? No offense or anything Teddy, but around here you'd at least need to try doing a plaid. Oo! You could do the school colors. That'd actually be kind of pretty.
Mac and Dean are against mornings, but this is when the good classes are. No pain, no GPA gain, people. Mac and Billy discuss the sobriety of the various radio personalities. I can quit chocolate milk anytime I want!
Pippi meets Henry and they discuss classes. As do Pippi and Dean and Pippi and Billy.
Sorry, I... I just have something in my eye. This is the best weekend ever!
Dean notices that Nova is quiet and tells her about Miho. I'm tempted to tell her about the wonderful science program that shares her name. Nova meets Pippi and tells her about being a mod soul. I think I'm more casual bohemian myself. Teddy talks with Nova, and it turns out Nova may know Chad. We can now assume that Nova is either very tall, or that she also knows neck aches.
Billy warns Nova about the Caritas zombies. Z shows up on the hunt for food. And Billy meets Henry.
Up in the coolest common room that ever did room, the bestest roomie ever watches Wendy the Werewolf Stalker. Admittedly not as cool as Bitterwoman, but still acceptable as TV-watching goes. Bel and Marie catch up on all the less than fun things going on. I'd just like to say if Phoebe or Dr. Wilson need chicken soup I am more than happy to provide it.
Liz and Marie meet, as do Cassie and Marie. Cassie also figures out that Marie is Rogue. For you newbies, that's just another name for Marie. She's not actually out... roguing things. Or rouging them either, for those of you who don't proofread.
Jamie stops by for pizza and snuggling. With Marie, that is. Though I suppose he could've come up with some extras to snuggle other people and even the pizza if it was necessary. And Conner is a boy.
The Evil Propaganda Party of Evil and Propagandaness
So, in the lobby of the dorms there was the Anti-Pink Pony Party and I would just like to say that first of all Peter is not a pony all the time. Second? He was never pink. Third? Even if he was pink there is nothing wrong with that and I love him anyway.
Still, some of you choose to be non-believers about this and for that I am shunning you. But it's my job to report the news so I will say that Billy was there, though the squirrels tell me he was double-u-tee-effing, so way to go Billy! Tori was there, and put meeting Shawn and Kaylee above being mean to ponies, so good for her.
Pippi defies the rules of the party and shows up in pink and mingles fabulously, like the amazing pro-pony redhead she is. Shawn is there and chats with Annette, Nadia, and Marco. I make it my New Year's resolution to not make Polo jokes whenever I read that name.
Kaylee also shows up in pink and that just goes to show why Kaylee is so cool she deserves a room on the fifth floor. Annette chats with Cally, Pippi, Billy, and Nadia. Hopefully one of them made shadow puppets or something to try to cheer her up. Or not, if she's got a shadow puppet phobia. It'd be awful if somebody was doing that thing where you hold your hands to make a bird and she burst into tears and locked herself in a closet, never to come out again.
Wyatt mingles, and tries to find out if Anders is sleeping with Bel. The better question is if Anders is no longer tasting like an ashtray. If we have to ask Bel about that, so be it.
Cally is dressed in black and manages to make Wyatt flaily. I'm a little flaily myself. Cally! I thought you had grown past the evils of your first name! Sheesh!
Walter? Is not a pony. For you newbies this really is the kind of updates we need to give here at Fandom Radio. You cannot take non-ponyness as a given at this school. Neil arrives! Hooray! I have no idea who Neil is but my notes are very happy about it so I shall assume Neil is also not against ponies and is only attending the party ironically. Neil would be wise not to disabuse me of this notion.
Marco is at the party for the free food. I maintain my resolution in spite of severe temptation.
Sakura is concerned about any event which is against the color pink. Also ponies, Sakura. Pink and ponies. There is nothing wrong with either of them. Jim - oh dear. Another name double. Okay, uh - the Jim who isn't dating Lana meets Billy and Nadia. Parker interrogates Anders. You know who doesn't get interrogated a lot? People who don't smoke. I'm just putting that little fact out there.
Al and Kaylee are adorable. I modify my earlier liver threat to include Al should he ever make Kaylee unhappy. And Evie is there, being her bright and bubbly self.
Not literally.
Town, where we can buy our school supplies!
Phale and Dr. Wilson spend a quiet night at home. Chicken soup, seriously. I can figure out how to teleport it there if I have to. Captain Liberty moves in and meets Pippi, thus making Captain Liberty very lucky if you ask me. Mr. Dean and Sam's Daddy... um. Does something with Principal Washburn that makes me vastly uncomfortable to talk about considering that one is a teacher and the other is a principal and my mind is not meant to have these images, even by implication!
Moving on to other things to clear my head, Photo Hut is open. Hopefully not all the way because doesn't light destroy the negatives? John and Aeryn have a picnic at the park. Clark thinks at the park and the park replies that if Clark has something to say he should just say it because the park is not a mind reader and these passive-agressive games are getting them nowhere in their relationship.
The twins open Sparky Repairs. Wait - did we get new twins in Fandom this time? Are the twins a twins now? Is there going to be a rumble? This could get exciting.
Number 6 pines at Efferton Manor. Efferton Manor aspens back at him. Zhaan is visited by Stark at Sanctity. Billy also stops by, like the friendly guy he is.
The clinic is quiet, as is Caritas or, for the newbies not in the know, the place in town that's run by Mr. GOB and which could really use a dance floor and no that wanna-boogie-be over at the Devil's Nest does not count!
Though in the meanwhile they've got karaoke which Leo takes advantage of by singing a song. Is it the one about beeps and boxes? I don't get that one. How do you put a noise in a box? Wouldn't the soundwaves escape through the hole? Is this some kind of physics I'm not familiar with?
Ah well.
That's all the news I've got tonight, Fandom. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Instead, let's have news!
