Fandom Radio, Saturday, November 18, 2006

Hello, everybody! It's Willow Rosenberg, the voice of Fandom Radio. Well, tonight. Other people are the voice of Fandom Radio on other nights and, in the case of Barbossa and Faithful, during the day. Plus I don't think we can rule out the radio equipment speaking for itself in a language that the rest of us can't hear. Or maybe we do hear it all the time and we don't realize it.

I'm going to be up all night wondering about this now.

Anyway, on to the news!

School: Enjoy it before those land-stealing pilgrims take our classes away

Vice Principal Pierce has office hours today. Nadia stops by, possibly to talk about today's detention where let's just say that Seely Booth found out that not all forms of acid are as tasty as orange juice.

Gun Club meet. They shoot, they score! Actually they just shoot and chat, but my way sounds more fun.

Dorms: Growing less normal by the week

This morning Nadia walks down the hallway and Schrodinger tapes it - or does he? Either way the squirrels have included a note to say "Work it, girl" so I can only assume Nadia was walking with attitude while making sure not to lose her neck. The latter of which is good for all of us, really, because otherwise how would your food get from your mouth to your tummy?

While walking, Nadia thinks Pippi's a cat. She is also looking for an ogre. Or possibly a princess. I say split the difference and look for both. Schrodinger, who is apparently a cleric now and hey, good for you for dedicating yourself to a spiritual lifestyle, tells Nadia that she has to defeat the ogre to fulfill her destiny. I'll assume this is Nadia's destiny, though if there's an ogre out there who pulled "Be killed by Nadia Santos" in the destiny sweepsathon I'll have to grant that Schrodinger's plan sounds pretty fulfilling too.

Nadia also asks after King Naomi's daughters, the princesses Dawn and Setsuna. Okay, did the holiday pageant start early or is there something Naomi needs to tell all of us? And, if the latter, I promise we'll be very understanding. I'm from California, this sort of thing isn't new to me.

Angela goes looking for coffee and finds out that Nadia thinks Angela's a gnome. I've often said there's no place like her. Nadia then accuses Alphonse of being an evil mage who works for Aziraphale and I'm pretty sure Al isn't Phale's TA, though to be fair I've never asked him about the evil mage part. Nadia also thinks Isabel is a thief. Isabel decides to embrace the nodding and smiling and walking away slowly plan of survival.

So, as might come as no surprise to anyone, Nadia apparently ate a big ol' bowl of Honey Bunches o' Nuts this morning. Which goes far to explain the previous news about Nadia, and why she thought it'd be a wise idea to help Pip with his cat.

In comparatively saner dorm news, Isabel writes a letter to her brother, Isabel and Dawn partake of yummy ice cream. Dawn pays the snacks forward by giving Sam tea and gingersnaps. Molly and Dawn discuss how Nadia is currently one dog and a hat short of a Monopoly game, and Dawn and Dean talk about Sam who isn't feeling well. Aww - feel better, Sam! Chicken soup! Cures everything!

Later on, Marie tells Jamie she's going home for Thanksgiving and - wait, what? Ack! Okay, emergency roomie/BFF meeting sometime this week! I'll bring the chocolate! And, not that I wish to brag, but I could so be saying 'told you so' to everyone about how Thanksgiving is one of the less fun holidays. Except for how I haven't really brought that up to anyone yet but I was thinking it and that counts!

On the second floor, Marty is upset about Michigan losing to Ohio. Possibly this is due to how it's a lot harder to cheer "M-I-C-H! I-G-A-N!" compared to "O-H! I-O!" Though on the upside the former does you way better when you're playing Scrabble.

Angela brings Chinese food and tells Marty that Nadia is a few votes shy of an amendment passing. Marty teases Alanna about the school assembly and the goat. I say leave the poor goat out of this, it was an innocent bystander. Angela tells Alanna about Nadia being a few megabytes less than a proper RAM upgrade, and they bemoan the lack of a vet on the island. I have no idea if these comments are related, but on the other hand there are few problems that animal tranquilizers can't at least buy you some time on.

Chad learns that Alanna has a thing for goats. Is it a tin can? I hear goats like to chew on those. Dean and Alanna agree not to talk about goats or tutus - oh, so it's a ballet outfit for the goats! Oh no, did I just ruin the surprise?

Marty and Dean talk about the ghost at the Sin. The squirrels add "Not dirty... we think." I think it's adorable when the squirrels write in italics. And Dean and Chad make with the meeting.

Two floors up we find Lana watching Striding High. Cally joins her and tells Lana about her demon possession. Oh, Cally, whatever demon's possession you've got you should give it back! Demons get very cranky when you steal from them.

Bel tells Lana that tall, dark-haired, muscular male protagonists of big hands and dubious intelligence aren't his type. For some reason the squirrels added "Pull the other one" to this note but I don't see any string so I'm not sure what they're talking about. Cally and Bel talk about what happened yesterday. I guess they're practicing to try out for radio next semester. Carmela meets Lana and chats with Cally - tell her to give back the demon's possession! And Billy - hi Billy! - comes in to see what's going on.

Finally, Jack and the Sam who is not currently horking up a lung spar in the gym.

Town: Like the dorms with that "less normal" thing, only more outdoorsy.

Mr. Lyman heads out of town - oh no! I'll miss you! The Doctor plays miniature golf and Nadia comes by to, quote, "whack the windmill." Okay even I think that sounds dirty.

Over at the clinic we find Luke is there both day and night. I hope you feel better! I don't wish to nag, but I do feel that the benefits of chicken soup can't be stated strongly enough.

Pouty McNoDanceLand sees Tyler stumble in for a drink - doesn't the stumbling usually come after? And Sister Fleurchon also looking to quench her thirst.

All and Sundries is open and gets a visit from Nadia. Sparky Repairs is open and gets visited by a knight who's really interested in getting his hands on some kind of bush. The note here also says "Surprisingly, we're not talking about Willow's boyfriend." I don't know why. I don't think Peter's that into horticulture.

As you may have guessed from the earlier mention, Tyler is back in town and hopefully trying not to explode anything, not that I'm casting aspersions on anyone. Billy paces by the causeway. You should try a treadmill in the gym, you won't catch a chill that way. Jack and Cedric go for ice cream. Nadia stops by and calls Jack a goddess, to which the squirrels have added "So that's how it is in Nadia and Jack's relationship."

Nadia is busy around town all day. And when I say "busy" I mean "like fish-flavored cupcakes, only less sensical." Molly runs into her and gets an earful of the "Ogres in my room and Phale is Evil McUptoNoGoodenstein" chorus. Jamie hears about the ogres too, and he and Nadia talk about furry toes. I didn't know Jamie and Nadia had met Anya.

Nadia calls Setsuna a princess and she goes after V.

Empire Records is open, and Nadia comes in with a dire need of some kind. Possibly for lithium? I'm just saying.

The Park sees the arrival of a pack of knights. Or is it a herd? I should ask Peter. The troopers troop on over and say howdy, and the knights explain they are on a quest for shrubbery. Wouldn't they need to go to DC if they're looking for a shrub? I don't think we have any gardening stores around here. I mean there's the florist but I'm pretty sure that's just, you know, flowers.

Dawn meets the knights and makes them flaily about a word. Take my advice, Dawn - don't talk about girly stuff around knights no matter how much the conversation might indicate it needs to come up. They hear certain things and there's not enough tea in the world to calm them down. Though it is cute to watch them sputter like that.

Phale and Dawn talk about the time of year - we're getting close to the good holidays, I'll give you that. Nadia spies on the both of them. Given her current state of mind I would not be surprised to find out this involved standing right over them while holding a sign that said "Spying on you now, please don't look."

Naomi stops by the park and tries to help the knights find their shrubbery. Did you try calling its name? Or leaving out shrubbery treats? The knights try to get Nadia to help with their quest but Nadia says no, because naturally her quest is the saner one. Of course.

The knights order Phale to produce a shrubbery, which he does, but then he gets pounced on by Nadia who insists that she's a meddling kid who'll never let him get away with it! At which point the knights started screaming for no apparent reason.

A shrubbery passes by the knights and then flees like a fleeing thing. Elliot tries to help the knights but the knights take offense because they're passive-agressive like that. The knights then approach Clark, and Clark is very confused. Much like Setsuna who gets asked to make a sacrifice. I have never been so happy to not be a virgi....uh! So! Look at the time! It's getting kinda late because I was just told Wilson got asked to complete a quest after his shift at the clinic and we all know how late that would be so here's me going to bed now.

By myself.

Fully clothed.

As far as anyone knows.

Hi, Susan!

And good night, Fandom!
