Fandom Radio, Saturday, September 3rd

Good morning, Fandom. This is Dave Nelson for WTFH, Fandom's pirate radio, broadcasting for the last time for the foreseeable future. The past few months have been a true joy, but it's time for me to hang up my headset and let somebody else... Ow. Did... did you just hit me with that bottle of rum?

Okay, I'll get on with the news.

Let's start as always with School news....

Mr Hercules started off his 15 Labors of Fandom class with silent introductions of each other and threats of pelting talkers with marshmallows..... I'm going to miss reading insane sentences like that every week. The students were quiet during the lecture, then got to find partners and do their introductions. The teacher was, of course, available after class.

Mr Oz's Don't Be Evil class started off by letting everyone know that they shouldn't be evil. And also, introductions! The students listened quietly and presumably in a non-evil manner. To reinforce the non-evilness, the students introduced themselves along with examples of times they weren't evil. The teacher was, of course, available after class, with an explanation of the waiver required to be a TA. That sounds safe.

Fighting for Funsies skipped introductions and jumped straight to punching blow-up clowns. Makes sense to me. Hank;s clown managed to get the better of him. Cassidy got in a few good shots. Surreal was unsure of what clowns were and got a variety of responses. Cassidy told her they were creepy. Deadpool encouraged her to stab the clown. And Cara asked to borrow her knife so that she could stab her own clown. Sov got booed by Deadpool for not attacking the clown enthusiastically enough. Bruce didn't have much fun punching his clown. Shane dropped the clown quickly. And Alex punched a clown really hard. The teacher was, of course, available after class.

And in Well-Behaved Women Rarely Make History, Ms Creed-Nast introduced the topic of women in history and set everyone up for introductions. All the students were ironically well-behaved during the lecture, but they were much more vocal during introductions, as they also mentioned historical women they were interested in. The teacher was, of course, available after class, where she told Rilla and Shira that they were chosen to be TAs.

Wesley was in a very safe library, with areas roped off and the phone bubblewrapped.

And in the school halls, Ryan and Lion-o were pulled into Locker 327. Wait, what does that mean? And why is the actual locker number noted? That's disturbingly specific.

If you have any idea what I actually just reported, please do me a favor and explain it to me since it wasn't on my bingo card. You can find me in the dorm lobby after this broadcast, especially since it's far, far away from any lockers.

But for now we'll move on to Dorm news....

Jack C was in the third floor common room watching the Stooges, which is a great way to start the day. Nathan apparently sympathized with Larry's hair, and defended it to Peter when he commented on it. Jack suggested that Peter should be glad the Tv was cooperating and not showing purple dinosaurs, a sentiment I can agree with. Rosella was curious what Jack was watching, so he teased her about forgetting TVs so soon, leading to sarcastic comments and television history. And Sam P walked in, took a donut, and reminisced with Jack about destroying his clothes as a badger.

Peter had also been in his room, getting some news from home.

Ramona was checking her e-mail in her room when Nathan showed up to ask where she'd been and then they caught up a little.

And now for the Student Council campaign portion of the broadcast, Senior Candidate Annie Edison got a great start by putting posters up everywhere. Even the bathrooms. Even the boy's bathroom. And that is dedication. Quinn saw the posters and didn't seem happy about them.

In the third floor common room, Sophomore Class Candidate Dave Nelson - that's me - was making the three-time gold medal winning jams that I'll have available for all sophomores in the dorm lobby shortly after this broadcast. Remember to vote Dave Nelson: Great with jams, better with student government.

And I shared the kitchen with Senior Candidate Quinn Fabray, who did some baking to get the word out for her own campaign. And I have to say, she was very kind and offered some good advice to an underclassman like me. If I were a senior, I'd probably vote for her.

Non-candidate Kenzi wanted some jam, but she didn't get any. Because the jam is for the sophomore class, and preserving those preserves is just one of the many things I'm prepared to do for my classmates if elected. Despite that, we had a very nice conversation about school government and, um, weapons. She also talked to Quinn, who checked what year Kenzi was in before trying to campaign to her.

And finally, over to Town news....

Mary apparently turned into a bird at the Arms. And Dani turned into a chihuahua before Hercules could arrive to have a pool party.

Bod was a better mood over at Cafe Luke's than he had been in recently. Stark Industries was baby-proofed by the time Ben arrived to work on car stuff. Seifer read at Groovy Tunes, where there is help wanted. And Hope was also reading over at Turtle & Canary, while ignoring Apu.

Tara had trouble getting the baby-proofed Magic Box in order. Kate D stopped in for some herbs and was caught off guard by the overly safe way the store was organized.

Jeremy and George had a child-safe date at Il Pollo, complete with baby gates, Chef Boyardee, and no alcohol at all.

Sean spent some time tidying up at Nast Sporting Goods. And Jessica wasn't feeling great at Caritas, so she scared Tino.

And that's all. For WTFH, Fandom's Pirate Radio, this has been Dave Nelson, reminding you that a vote for me is a vote for the best sophomore class we can have.

Ow! Okay, that one doesn't make much sense, but that wasn't any reason to hit me again.

Annie listened to radio.

Annie hated Dave now.

Okay, maybe hate was too strong a word. But it'd be hard not to glare at him.
