Fandom Radio, Saturday, August 6th
Good morning everyone. This is Dave Nelson on location from a secured space as long as the lock holds up. Things haven't turned back to normal yet, but it has to happen eventually, right? My fingers are crossed.
But even though the world is ending because people felt the need to poke a rock - Topher - somebody still needs to do this show. At least that's what the threatening message from the squirrel said. But enough of that. Let's get on with the horrifying news!
Starting with School news....
Although it can mostly be summed up like this:
Defying Death was cancelled with a note and weapons. True Heroism was canceled with a note.Computers was canceled with an e-mail.
And in the library, Wesley and a lot of other people researched. Also, Kenzi wanted to show Wesley her weapons collection and stuck around until the end of his shift so he could escort her home. And some of the more hands on investigative types got together at a table to plan their trip across the Causeway.
Moving onto the Dorms, like the monsters apparently have....
Squall was in front of them, killing monsters by the pile, a sentence that is either very reassuring or absolutely terrifying. Bart '"zoomed in," according to the squirrels, and apparently took out a monster by doing that. Claudia wanted to EAT THE CORPSES OF THE DEAD MONSTERS and in a related story, I'm just about ready to throw up! Squall and Mister Alistair compared what the monsters from their homes are like, but unfortunately it doesn't provide any extra insight here. Topher wanted to eat some monster carcass, too, and argued about what is or isn't a monster. But seeing as how I saw the way he destroyed his bed before he left the room yesterday, I think I can say, with a degree of certainty, THAT YOU'RE A MONSTER NOW, TOPHER. Although I hope you get better. Rinoa called Squall to offer her help, but apparently she's early on in infection. James stabbed things while Squall offered him a magical boost thing. And Kate D was out with her sword, discussing the monsters and whether or not people might die.
... Why does everyone in this school have a sword?
Oh. Right. For things like this.
Over in his room, Hank tried on hats so he could be a detective, apparently. And Kate D spent some time putting up magical wards in her room. Wait, you can do that?
And finaly, Town, where terrible things are happening....
Case in point, while Tahiri and Surreal fought things, Deadpool and Momoko smashed stuff. Remember, Deadpool is our vice principal. That makes me feel better, really. Surreal came across Topher and, well, they started to argue. And then fight. And... yep, she had a sword or something. I think I at least need a shiv or something at this rate.
Over at Cafe Luke's, the staff has barricaded the door to keep the horrible monsters out. Seifer also blocked the door at Groovy Tunes, but he was still ready for a fight.
Quinn and Puck, both monsters, tried to get across the causeway. Emma avoided all of the badness by hanging out in Jack P's hotel room with food and, ahem, card games. Mr Rogers ran across Monster Tony, who refused to go to the clinic. And Captain Hook destroyed his apartment and apparently smashed through a wall to get out, because he's a monster.
And the clinic was busy today. Chloe was trying to find information on this stuff online. She and Ronan compared their ability to heal and discussed how it wasn't likely to do anything to this infection. Stark checked in on Chloe and they discussed not being able to do mcuh to help. Ryan came in to help and told Chloe about her time in South America. Ryan and Ronan met, and he told her about his powers. Stark had coffee. Raven was there to help. And Chloe checked in on a restrained Scully.
And that's all for now. But seriously, if anyone has a knife or a shiv they want to pass along, give me a call. That's going to be my check since I've seen those claws. I don't think they can use phones.
