Morning, folks. I'm hoping you woke up on the right side of your limbs this time, 'cause it looks like pony fever has finally died down. Be grateful. I am.
SCHOOL
Winter Sports kicks off the school notes, but all they did was watch a movie. Turns out ponies aren't really built for sports. Who knew. How To Avoid Misadventure keeps things a little more adventures, with discussion about honor and allies, and whether or not it's better to stick with people with similar goals, or trust in your friendships. Not that this is going to be a big theme in my life or anything. Students coped with their equininity during the lecture, then discussed what they looked for in a companion. But today's big event was starting fires. Wow, my sister would have loved this class.
Kate Daniels and Quinn did not succeed in their quest, but they did talk ways to light a fire when you don't have opposable thumbs. Ariel tried to make some sparks with her hooves, but that didn't work, even if Warren pitched in. The teachers were around, but only Elphaba took advantage of it - something about Alistair and a veil. Uh, isn't Elphaba a student...?
Hermione talks about the problems kids these days deal with. And organisations, which the kids had a few things to pitch in about, too. My cooking class had the fascinating topic of salads and sandwiches. I'm a big fan, really. Eating them, making them, checking out what Karla and Seifer are doing to them with that mayo... fascinating. Kenzi flirted up a storm with Toby, and apparently their neighin' state didn't keep them from deciding on hamburgers.
And finishing off with the non-class-related theeeemes, a human William read a novel most brilliant in the library, and the elk fought the ponified staff in the office.
Never a dull day when you work for this school.
DORMS
And in dorms news, we've got Sookie trying out her brand-spanking new pony wings. Then Karla shows up, and the whole thing goes downhill pretty fast once the gossip kicks in. A few rooms away, Ramona coped with her pony-related smoking issues - it's a habit that'll kill you, one way or another. Ever heard of the wick effect? It's pretty gruesome - but Simon stopped by. Mostly to skip right past pony into tarsier, which is a kind of monkey. Heh.
Sam Puckett was a pony - one who enjoys both ham and television. Jot that one down, listeners. She's having some trouble with the ham part, though, as Sam LaCroix finds out when he enters only to find her mauling it with a giant cleaver. Wow, the notes are really good today, aren't they? Wesley is just a sack full of complaints because Sam El isn't a pony - oh look, another one - but that doesn't mean he's not willing to let Sam share some advice about not dying.
Good call, Wesley.
Though apparently he needed Sam Pee to figure out he wasn't the only pony, which makes me wonder if our news rodents have been - *twock* - doing their job right. Ow. Alex Aaron joins Topher's little club of kids trying desperately to play videogames with hooves that are probably going to shatter all of our controllers at this rate, and Asuna swings by to baffle. You and everyone else on the planet, Asuna. Finally, elsewhere in the dorms, Caroline and Jacob did their little back-and-forth about sleeping and keeping busy.
TOWN
And while some of you were moping around the dorms, the rest was bustling around town. Vincent took the whole thing in stride and opened up Cafe Luke's with a pony theme this time around. It's heartwarming to see the new folks fitting in so quickly, it really is. Speaking of which, Alistair shows up and orders everything in the house, and Vincent actually manages to pony up with it. I'm amazed. Hooves don't keep him from serving Jack Carter, either, but Jack's no pony. And no dog, either. Lucky bastard.
The mayor's also a pony, as is his kid and his partner, who's a little enthusiastic about his new fluffy tail. Hey, if it works for you, buddy. Butters seems to have the pony thing in hand at work, but my beleaguered big sis Karla seems to be needing magic to get around. Emma turns up to take a couple of pictures and a job, while Warren's neighing up a storm about his troubles frolicking.
Has anyone ever noticed how that kind of rhymes with 'colic'?
Jeremy flaunted his humanity at the Perk, while both Angelica and Momoko figured out the trouble with tack, and other ponylike pontificating.
Jack Sparrow - hey, boss - is sad to find out the Devil's Nest is lacking in rum. Hey, we've got plenty sitting around here. I think the squirrels might have been getting into it too much lately, you -- *twock* -- ow know. Kenzi, my good friend, notes that unicorn Bo is looking a little horny this week - heh - while Eric and Mitchell spend time in the back room feeling not at all sorry for themselves. Then Sookie tells Eric not to bite anyone. Those horse jaws are really a killer. Bo seems more worried about the boots, though. Pony boots. Horse boots? There's just no good alliteration in that one. Sorry, folks.
