Fandom Radio: May 18 [Wednesday]
-is this a radio station? This is cool! ... Aaaaand the broadcast light is on. Hi, uh, whoever's listening to this! I got kidnapped by squirrels. Sadly, that's not the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.
And now they're handing me a bunch of notes. Do I read them?
*scrunch rustle rustle*
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! This is Marshall Wheeler coming to you live from... uh...
*rustle*
... from WTFH Radio with all the news from the last twenty-four hours! At least, that's what the squirrel notes tell me. So, might as well start with...
School! So a bunch of people had workshops yesterday, me included, but the first class of the day was Cupcake War Crimes. Which sounds like an awesome class, until the cupcakes have pulled pork and corn. I guess that's the kind of crime the class is about? Because seriously, that's just criminal. Stark and Anders gave a lecture, which I hope was about how those cupcakes are just wrong, which Chuck Bartowski and Sam Pucket completely disagreed with. I'm with you, Chuck. After the lecture, there was a chance to bake some cupcakes, and Stark and Anders were there for anyone who wanted to talk to them.
Oh! Attitude! That's one of my workshops. Professor Reno talked about how clothes are totally important, 'cause there's this whole thing with looking a certain way helps you feel a certain way? Reno gave us some magazines to look through, and I found this awesome outfit, really it- OW. Okay, okay. Note: these squirrels can bite. Effy and Dru were there for their TAly duties, and Reno was there for us to talk to if we needed, too.
... There's a class called Try Not to Die!!? That's with two exclamation marks, by the way. They were in Alexandria today, where they took books from the harbour to the library, had a chance to either transcribe -- in Ancient Greek, which would either be a lot of fun or way too much work -- or take more books back to the harbour, which seems kind of redundant since they just came from there. Students had a chance to check in with Anakin to see how they did, and he and Tahiri were around to ask for help if anyone needed it.
In Your African Expedition Adventure! -- and there's an exclamation mark there, too, I wonder if it fell off of Try Not to Die!!? -- Jane gave a lecture about all the ways you can get killed in a jungle -- I'll give you a hint: it's lots -- before her students had a chance to go and put that into practice by not getting killed.
Hey, maybe it did fall off Try Not to Die!! Seems like the same kind of lesson.
And, last but not least, Rinoa and Belle were in the library, doing... library things, Rinoa with class work, and Belle with cookbooks and humming.
Oh, hey, there's more. Over in the dorms, Sam LaCroix was out on the deck, where he talked to Mercy about the different ways to enjoy the, uh, new weather -- seriously, where are we going to end up next, that's what I want to know -- and exactly what kind of 'special' school this is, to Annie about winning Try Not to Die!!, and to Toby about the same class. Meanwhile, I was over in the rec room playing piano, and Percy made a call home before Luke came by, got accused of being easy, and flirted. ... Hey, those are both guys' names. Do we have openly gay kids here? Huh.
*chittering* No, no, I'm just not used to it! No one at my last school was out. It's totally cool! Aaaaaanyway, moving on, in town we had a little more going on! Ariel planned to leave Pixie Dust early for the beach, Alice was at Groovy Tunes, checking out music with "Alice" in it -- yeah, try finding stuff with "Marshall" -- when Seifer came by and got a job, and at Turtle and Canary, Shunsui was sleeping on the job so he could... rest up for wooing? Really? Does anyone actually woo anymore? Sounds like some kind of... fake magic 'woo-woo' thing. Like what you'd say when waggling your fingers. *scritch scritch chitter* ... Why would you waggle your fingers when saying 'buttery'? These squirrels are weird.
Emma was at the Devil's Nest, manning the door, when Kate Gregson came by to ask if she could speak to Eric, which... she did. And Jack Priest asked Kate how she's doing and told Emma that he's back on the island.
Over at the Arms, Mary was free of her Viking admirer -- understandable, since I don't think there were any Vikings in Egypt -- while Spock was happy to be in warmer weather over at Fixer Uppers. Raven was abusing her employee discount at Dite's Decadent Delights, Sookie would rather have been tanning at Luke's, Robin was using a hoodie to cover up a bad hair decision at Caritas, and at the Clinic, Millie was homesick but happy to be in warmer climes.
And that's all the notes, ladies and gentlemen, so this is Marshall Wheeler signing off. Thank you for listening to WTFH Radio, and have a great day!
Is that rum? It's a little early for drinking, isn't-
