Fandom Radio, 4/7/11

Welcome, welcome good citizens of Fandom. Having seemingly spent the weekend dead, I have been counting my very blessings all week. I hope you all have been too. But before I wax poetical about the glories of life, it is time to deliver you the news.

As always, we begin with the matter of The School.

Extreme Physical Education went on a cross-country skiing trip, via the magic of the Danger Shop. Science of Psionics had a day in which to train up for their final exam. Home Ec baked cookies and muffins.

Over in What Not to Do in a Fight covered the wonderful world of the ridiculousness of rules for civilized fighting. It's true, it's true. The class discussed this heartily, even with stories of young Wesley fighting against women who can crush him. With a name like Wesley, many probably can.

Over in the land of the library, Gabrielle stealthily crept upon the books, as this was apparently required.

Which brings us over to The Dorms.

Those leaders of cheer encountered difficulty yesterday with their shoes. Shoes? Perhaps it is time to buy a new pair.

Yesterday morning, Ender tapped away at his laptop on the roof. A strange place to compute, boy. Young Tony Stark joined him on the roof, and they discussed their lack of memory for the weekend, and then matters of space armor. Then around noon, Chuck made some waffles in the third floor common room. Young Alex was enticed by the delightful smell, and joined the boy.

Then there is news of The Town.

William muttered at computers at Fixxer-Uppers, Kate bickered with staff at Mystery Sign Theatre, and Aphrodite recieved an order of religious material at her Decadent Delights shop. Rinoa came into the shop and was lectured by the proprietor about danger and safety. Apparently the young girl was possessed by an evil sorceress from the future recently. Oh, children. Don't you ever learn?

The Magic and Support reserves met in the Preserves yesterday, to talk about outdoor survival and campfire building. There was mingling, discussion, fire building, and even weenie roasting, courtesy of young Stephanie. All under the watchful eye of the leaders.

Over at my favorite establishment I have yet to matriculate, Jessica failed to convince her boss she was twenty-years older at The Devils Nest. Miss Jaina stopped by to ask why the young redhead was grumbly, Eric texted in the VIP lounge, and eventually had Miss Jaina over talking to him about the weekend and texting habits. Fair enough.

Finally, over at Caritas, Nathan was drinking and reciting awful poetry. How cultural of him. Kate arrived and had a heartfelt conversation with the boy about futures where his girlfriend has married another man, and eventually she recited a poem for a free drink. If there's to be a poetry night on a regular basis, I do hope you're ready for a Captain to come in. I am quite the recitation master. Caroline also was a patron of the bar, asking for a fruity drink that Nathan was unable to make. How does that boy keep his job?

And that is all the news I have. Quiet day. You'd think the world was blipping out of existence every so often or something ridiculous like that. But until next week, I shall bid you all adieu. This is your Captain, signing off.
