Fandom Radio, 3/31/11
Greetings and salutations, you princesses of Fandom, you kings of this island! It is I, Captain James Hook, sage of the radiowaves, here to share those bits of news gathered by my most gracious band of furry journalists. Sit back, relax, and prick up your ears.
After all, it's time to hear about yesterday's Classes.
Extreme Physical Education went dogdledding through the Canadian wilderness. Is there parts of Canada that aren't wilderness? Oh, how times have changed, how they have changed. The Science of Psionics talked about the ethics of telepathy and reading the minds of others. Emma and Cally discussed how humans need control, while Scully and Emma discussed whether Emma can turn off her mind reading, which Miss Frost believes should not be neccessary. Via paper, Blackagar argued to Miss Frost that control isn't denial. And Spock argued that Miss Frost required discipline.
A bold move, lad.
Miss Frost and Kerrigan discussed the fact that such debate is annoying or possibly entertaining. Colour me intrigued, ladies.
What Not to Do in a Fight covered the tango today. Again, something one should not do in a fight. Unless it's a dance battle. In which case, the main thing not to do is challenge me. Ahahaha-ha.
Then, over in the library, Gabrielle made good friends with Maxwell's House, drinking lots of coffee. For reasons that my furry fellows did not find.
Which means it is time to discuss the Dorms!
As is always my fond pleasure to announce, the leaders of cheer met, and trained in elevator lifts. The The Magic Reserves also met, to discuss secret stashes.
How very pirate of you all.
Dolf apologized to Cally at that meeting, as well as Karla told Dolf about plans for their droid baby.
I say... their what? Someone inform me of what that means. Soon.
In his room, Luke showered, until young Percy showed up and demanded Luke get him a pizza. And the lad did, apparently. I believe the word is 'whipped', Luke.
Miss Stackhouse returned from a trip quite tired, so she texted people from her bed. Bobby Drake showed up and said he was there to short sheet her bed. Interesting method, lad. Squall brought Rinoa back to his room, and I'm not sure I should be announcing that to the entire island. They discussed what they are and then... things elasped which a gentlemen does not ask about, nor does he tell.
I may be a pirate, but I am also a gentleman.
Which now means it is time for The Town.
Over at Turtle and Canary, Hank practiced his guitar, poorly. The Postman arrived to deliver a package to the lad, which was an inflatable farm animal pillow.
At The Devils Nest, Jessica stared at the DJ while Eric was quite demanding. Lion-o also had a droid baby at Luke's, which the other staff found quite hilarious. I take it these things are... being sold on the street or something?
Over in Fixxer-Uppers, William was grumbling about being unable to vote, when Ender came over to discuss the politics of Canada. Quinn also made an appearance, to hand over their droid baby. Okay, now I'm beginning to think these are like... what did I read about... Furbies? Is that what these are?
Kate was over at the theater as usual, though this week she was upset about the theater daring to show a foreign film. At Groovy Tunes, Lindsay restocked the shelves absent-mindedly. One wonders how she keeps her job, really.
At Caritas, Nathan played truth or dare with Tino. Caroline arrived, and was quite disgusted with Tino, and discussed jealousy with Nathan. Quinn arrived to celebrate having rid herself of her droid baby, and discussed hair dye and the droids with Nathan.
These droid babies are perhaps not a new fad. An assignment? Torturous fiendish things, in the shape of metallic babies? I wonder who was wonderful enough to inflict that upon the students. Whoever you are, you have my admiration.
And that is it, good people of Fandom. Embark upon your day with pride, strength, and determination. And perhaps just a little bit of unscrupulous tenacity. This is Captain James Hook, signing off.
