Fandom Radio, 3/3/11
Oh dear citizens of Fandom, I do hope you are all settled back in after your lazy and relaxed week in the sunny islands. I am, of course, your steadfast Captain of the radiowaves, James Hook. Now we shall set a course through all the news of yesterday.
Beginning, as we normally do, with The School.
Extreme Phys Ed ran an obstacle course yesterday, and my notes say it was a very long, very complicated one. Can't make it easy for you bright kids, of course. The Science of Psionics talked about telekinesis, and the class all got to experiment with fake powers thanks to the magic of the Danger Shop.
Home Ec had a movie day, as one does when the teacher does not show up. Fair Gabrielle had to deal with an unruly book which she refused to be put in its place in the library, and the AV Club met to see pictures young Ben took in Hawaii, and the other members shared their photographs as well. And one wonders why typical AV Clubs are filled with socially deprived shut-ins.
And it was a quiet day, academically, as we're now onto the land of Dorm Life
Out on the deck, Bod enjoyed the fresh air and a book, before Jeremy stopped by to chat about avoiding sunburn and the art of being lazy. There is no art to it, gentlemen. Please feel free to join my class so I can appropriately beat... I mean train those instincts out of you. Then the Magic and Support Reserves were attacked with cake.
Apparently they're studying ahead for my class.
Members arrived, did battle, and the leaders ended up coated in cake. Karla herself was checked up on by fellow leader Raven.
The Leaders of Cheer also met today, with mingling and stretching, and working on routines. Harper taught young Rilla the ins and outs of cartwheels, while others discussed business or coached or watched. A plethora of activities, yes indeed, yes indeed.
Young Robin played Rock Band, in the rec room, whatever that means. Luke did some thinking on the roof, but was joined by Maladicta who inquired if the roof was solely for brooding. Triela fired lots of round in the shooting range, and was joined by Scully and Leda.
And with that, it is on to news of our fair Town
Turtle and Canary had a sale on the delicious fermented curd product cheese yesterday. And to think, I missed it. Bruce and Ramona had a date at Cafe Fina, and the were awe-struck by the animated nature of the staff. Soundchecks were the name of the game over at the Devils Nest, and young Emma came in and asked for a job after she had a diamond freak out. I wonder if they're serving... special things at that Devils Nest.
Lion-O was curious about a movie trailer while he worked at Luke's Diner, William fiddled with a circuit board at Fixxer-Uppers, and Kate checked on concessions while sneaking in and out on the movie at Mystery Sign Theatre. Inspector Mannheim muttered to himself at the post office, making one worry about whether he is gruntled or not.
And finally, Nathan got angry at Tino for swapping labels on bottles at Caritas, and, surprise surprise, Caroline came in to drink and bicker at the young sir.
Really now, you two. Really.
And that is all the news I have for you lovely boys and girls and ladies and gentlemen. I wish you adieu, adieu, adieu.
