Fandom Radio :: Thursday, January 20th

Welcome, welcome, hello, how are you, greetings and salutations. It's the finest Captain of the radiowaves, James Hook, here to tell you all the news that this fine crew of furry fellows has seen fit to gather. Please sit back, relax, and remember that I don't believe in fairies.

No one clap for a good long time, please. That's a good audience.

Now we start with matters of the School.

Extreme Physical Education busied its students with rock climbing. Fraser lectured students not to fall or break themselves, responsible instructor that he is. The students then climbed, and it seems Makita felt the need to question all of the safety equipment. What a reckless little child you are, Makita.

The Science of Psionics detailed telepathy, where the students discussed shielding techniques and telepathic control. After that, the telepaths tried to break into other students' minds, such as Charlie attempting to break into Blackagar's bountiful brain. Such a fine name, Blackagar. The teacher kept Miss Emma after class, in order to present her with a gift of a fancy suit. Gifts for the students? Is that appropriate, Miss Kerrigan? They might soon expect it from all of us.

Yesterday's course of What Not to Do In a Fight covered not picking fights with strangers and not underestimating the competition. For instance, just because a woman has only one arm, no brain, and a should seemingly be at a severe disadvantage in regards to balance doesn't mean she's not a fine swordsman. The class activity was to pick a fight with a stranger, which I'm assuming was an object lesson. There are no notes that any poor student was impaled or mutilated, alas. However, Karla begged out of the activity due to being tired of fighting. Oh, poor Karla. Poor, poor dear.

Home Ec covered the important subject of laundry. Pressed shirts and finery are, of course, a neccessity to good students. Karla, who is too tired to fight, is apparently used to passing off the laundry to people beneath her. Something I, as well as her classmate Tony, are quite familiar with. However Professor Steve has words to say, that the class is about times where you are forced to do without underlings. A state I am also now quite acutely aware of. In related news, anyone with experience in being a toady or first mate, I'm in the market. Also in news of that course, Scully instructed Juliet in washing methods that would not lead to shrinking clothes. A terrible malady in need of remedy, of course.

Over in the library, Gabrielled found herself struggling to filed the Wendy the Werewolf Stalker Div... Divides? What is this, someone get me a thesaurus, an encyclopaedia, something! You, there, with the bushy tail, a bottle of run in it for you if you... Ah, thank you, Dee-Vee-Dees, that's what they were. The librarian himself, Henry, unpacked a shipment of books. What one normally expects to find in a library.

Then in matters of the Dorms, we have much news as well.

Ramona Flowers watched TV while in her pajamas and eating cereal, where she was joined by Quinn. They discussed matters of people being excited about groceries on the television. I must only assume they were watching a show on the exploitation of the poor. Quinn was also introduced to the notion that veganism gives you superpowers. Rosalind joined in, and demanded the television being switched to show the news. She also felt the need to tell Jacob everything that was wrong with him. I like this Rosalind, doesn't seem to mess around. The notes say that Ender and Ramona did an introduction dance, which I can only assume is some sort of cultural ritual for one of their peoples. The aforementioned Jacob also spoke with Ramona, where they discussed matters of whimsical weather and winter luaus.

In his room, Bod read and stared out the window. This is news? You all must be very desperate for entertainment.

In the lobby today, the magical and support reserves met to discuss the importance of friends. Oh, how very touching. Elphaba was complimented by Karla for having convictions even when society tells her not to. Bravo, Elphaba. Society be damned... at least, within the confines of good form. Elphaba herself wished to compliment Tara, but first decided to discuss matters of horrible things that people say. A rather roundabout way to discuss the topic at hand. Cally complimented Karla's hair, Rinoa complimented Kennedy's ability to keep her composure in labyrinths, while Scully's compliment for Kennedy was for herstraight-forward, thorough, and determined nature. Squall awkwardly complimented Stephanie for seeming nice before they got better acquainted. Tara complimented Squall's loyalty to Rinoa, while he complimented her for not throwing up at the meetings.

You're a very strange boy, Squall.

Cally checked in on Dolf's health, while Kennedy checked in on Tara. They then made a date for lunch on... well, today, now.

Also yesterday, the leaders of cheer met over in the gym to make posters to advertise their recruitment drive.

Which finally brings us to The Town

Wellspring Arms was open with Ino at the metaphorical helm, over at Turtle and Canary Hank argued with an inanimate object about flavors, Shelley put boots on sale at Pixie Dust, and Lion-o, whom I hope is no relation to Tiger Lily, was learning the difference between hot food and warm food at Luke's Diner.

I believe it's a difference in temperature, Lion-o.

William ate toast and read at Fixer-Uppers, Genesis was all smiles as he hung a poster advertising the local theatrical establishment's next production, which is having a casting call. Interesting, interesting. Kate drank coffee over at Mystery Sign Theatre, where she was joined by Mitchell, the theatre's owner. Over at Groovy Tunes, Lindsay listened to the doors. An entire store of music, and she listens to a door? Very peculiar, that Lindsay.

And for my last little tidbit of news, Alex Karev drank vodka at Caritas instead of working. I do believe I'd make you walk the plank for that, Alex. Ha!

And that ends our little interlude of current events. Thank you all for listening, enjoy your day, and don't do anything I wouldn't do.

For the record... there isn't anything I wouldn't do, except practice bad form of course. This is Captain James Hook, and have a wonderful rest of your day.
