WTFH Radio, Saturday, February 13
DRAKE: Evening, Fandom! My lovely co-host and I have taken a break from burning up the dance floor to bring you the news of the day. I was tempted to let the squirrels just do it tonight, but they threw wee bottles of rum at my head.
PAIGE: They are pretty aggressive. But let's see if we can get this done in time to get back and squeeze in another dance.
DRAKE: I am all for dancing. And squeezing.
SCHOOL
DRAKE: All right, school notes are pretty short. Griff was snuggling in the library with a stock of horror novels. That's one way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
PAIGE: Books aren't very warm though.
DRAKE: But they're so much fun! Here, you do the dorms.
DORMS
PAIGE: Oh, it looks like Griff found something warmer than books to cuddle with in the second floor common room this evening. Fiona and her cat were there and they watched action movies and ate lots of popcorn. Jaina had a pleasant surprise in the form of John stopping by. They caught up and she found out that time has slowed down for him. Um. I'm not sure what that means, but apparently it's good? Ben and Ender are back from a trip and talked a little about why Ender left. Karla also got back and crashed for a while, making her get ready for the dance quickly. George didn't seem to mind though since there were hugs when he picked her up. Raven got a dance lesson and help fixing her hair from Joan before the dance.
Priestly decided to skip the dance and had a visit from Dinah who stopped by after to check on him and they talked about how Valentine's Day is a scam. Aww, there's no reason to be bitter about being single on Valentine's Day.
DRAKE: Hey, I got let down gently by a goddess the other day and I'm not bitter about V-Day. It's a day of love, love, love! It's awesome!
PAIGE: Okay, I don't know if I'd go that far, but it's really not that bad. Besides, Monday is half-price candy day.
DRAKE: Maybe it will rain candy conversation hearts. That would be cool! Anyway, in town news that isn't dancing, Shelley got to know Biff in a naked way. You go, girl. Roy had his first day of work at the law offices, but was probably not naked. Ellie was hard at work at the hotel, as were Hurley at Groovy Tunes, Fred at Atlas Gym, and Ino at the clinic. Tino found himself in charge of Caritas, and the mighty mighty Aphrodite gave Karla help with her makeup. Oh, and Kurt woke up in a tree with tattoos and a kilt. But no sheep.
PAIGE: Probably for the best, really. Involving sheep would get messy.
DRAKE: And then there was the dance. People got their mingle on, including Arthur and Merlin playing Nina Garcia and Michael Kors to Morgana's Project Runway contestant. Bruce and Jean were on a date and talked about the possibility of bad stuff happening at the dance, and way to jinx everyone, kids. Didi and Jono flirted and considered the vast pinkness of the decorations, and Robin-the-Frog said hi to Didi. Jacob got a compliment from Didi and a promise of a dance, and Leda likes the cut of his jib as well. Tara and Kennedy were both smoking, and not in a nicotine way, and Elena and Alex talked about graduation and sex. But not sex at graduation; I think Zoe might not like that. Leto and Alice contemplated the glitter, and Arthur still had his Nina Garcia strapped on as he criticized Mat's clothes. Mat didn't appear to be too bothered because he was busy making plans with Elena.
PAIGE: Bod and Warren were concerned that the glitter would be sticking to them for weeks. They're probably right. I wonder if there's a spell to get rid of it. Arthur thought Morgana forget her jacket. She informed him that Jacob would keep her warm. Which I'm guessing he did while they flirted. Leda approved of Morgana's taste in men. I'll refrain from comment because it would probably be creepy. Beka had Emma the Ermine crashing her date with Jonas and she was distressed about Kennedy spiking the punch. Angela got teased by Hannibal about being in girly heaven. Jacob and Elena flirted and talked about if Elena shot him. That's one way to get a guy's attention. Elena got complimented by Kennedy and paid it forward by complimenting Warren and his wings. Someday I'll be able to say those things without being surprised.
DRAKE: C'mon, with an illustrious career like yours and you're shocked by a guy with wings? It's not like he's the Source of All Evil with those big silly red wings of his. Let's see, Ino and Zack were on date, and Sam and his Chuckness flirted. Wait a minute....
*chittering*
DRAKE: Complimenting each other isn't always flirting, but right, you never know. Claire rescued Sam by asking him to dance, and Dinah and Leda tossed around compliments. Mulan and Robin discussed the weather. Cold. Snow. End of story. Joan and Liir didn't approve of the decorations, while Hoshi and Robin chatted about graduation. Hurley and Hoshi planned for an anti-Valentine's party tomorrow. Aww, kids, don't be haters. Jean gave Kurt a heads up about the punch, Karla and George flirted, and Ben and Tahiri were dressed like monks.
*chittering*
DRAKE: Correction, Jedi robes. That's better, because traditionally, monks don't get a little something-something after a dance. Aaaaaand Jon and Claire were there, and Jon is a rare boy who wants his girlfriend in more clothes. Andy arrived with Raven and explained what Pepto Bismol was to her. So romantic.
PAIGE: It wouldn't be an event in Fandom without food. And punch. Firekeeper was glad it wasn't spiked yet and she and Arthur discussed hunting. That's not a very romantic topic of conversation. Firekeeper and Merlin decided that they liked hay better than glitter. Jacob promised not to step on Firekeeper's toes if she danced with him.
*chittering*
PAIGE: Why are you guys waving flags? Anyway, Mat asked Hinata to dance. Jack Priest was grumpy and told Leto and Alex Karev about how Emma stood him up for the dance. Um. Is that the same Emma who is an ermine? Bod and Jacob wondered about the glitter. George teased Beka before asking for a dance. Dinah told Leto she was unhappy and they discussed dancing later. Dinah and Merlin both greeted Francine. Karla hugged Dinah and told her that she's been gone for three months. Leda and Lion-o caught up and Bobby managed to compliment Mulan despite them both being startled by the amount of glitter.
DRAKE: OK, the flags are for couples they like, and the Emma is one and the same, I think. She's all cynical about love anyway, so maybe it's for the best she's small and furry for V-Day. Moving on, there were -- dun dun DUN -- shadowy corners for those who like to lurk. Including Jak and Tara, who talked about Jak and how sparkly the dance was. Alex Karev was all shady-like, while Dan just sulked. Diana not Dinah helped herself to some punch in the corner, and Alex talked to Effy about punch-related shenanigans. Mulan was shy, and -- I know this is shocking breaking news -- Katchoo was surly.
PAIGE: There were chaperones who were there to make sure people didn't get drunk. Uh. Oops? At least Jim and I weren't the only ones who failed since Mitchell, Zoe, Barney and my intrepid co-host were also there. Of course, drinking may have been responsible for some people hitting the dance floor. Robin the Frog was out there sans partner. Mat and Hinata danced and Mat told her she was a good dancer. Jean and Bruce shared a dance and apparently teased each other about which of them would lead. Kurt was shaking his tail feathers... oh, sorry, just tail, on the dance floor and had Leda hoping to join him. Jono and Didi were out there making plans for dinner tomorrow. Jonas and Beka were shy with each other, but danced. And Morgana told Jacob about the balls back in Camelot. And the squirrels are waving more flags.
DRAKE: And the dance continued on into the night. Tony of the Foster variety showed up, though he wasn't in a great mood, awww. George received advice from Mat about kissing pretty girls and met John Sheppard, who was amused by the Jacen lookalike. Kyle wanted the news on what he'd missed so far, and was told by George to avoid the punch. Kennedy wandered about, while Leia met John Sheppard and got her flirt on with Mat, who told her he much preferred to dance with her than Arthur. Ben got teased by John Sheppard about his hair, but Jaina was in a good mood with her man. Hurley complimented Tahiri's Jedi robes, and Ben fetched Tahiri some punch.
PAIGE: The punch which somehow got spiked. Which Harper didn't figure out until after polishing off almost a whole glass. Oh, honey, take two aspirin and drink a glass of water before bed. Tony had punch and told Dinah about his fight with Lee and an article in US Weekly. Jack Priest got his bitter on about Emma not showing up. I guess no one bothered to tell him about her being an ermine. Oops? Raven checked in on Tony. Bobby avoided the punch but not the flirting of a slightly tipsy Harper who was rocking a dress made of magic markers. Mat and Ellie both enjoyed the punch, but Blysse avoided it. Karla apparently indulged since she was telling Jack Priest about how her breasts got bigger. George found out he was Karla's favorite male. Mirax got to enjoy both the punch and a bouncy Bobby's company. Lion-O opted for food rather than punch.
DRAKE: The shadowy corners seemed to have emptied out, and we chaperones paid varying degrees of attention after we failed at our job earlier. you were there, and me of course, and that reminds me: if you're in need of a guardian angel, Paige here may be your woman. She's in search of a charge, so give her a call.
PAIGE: If I start getting prank calls, I'm forwarding them to you. The dance floor was still hopping with Joan and Liir, myself and Drake, Leia and Mat and Edmund and Ellie.
DRAKE: And that's it for the news. Happy Valentine's Day, and remember, you don't have to look too hard, love is everywhere, I know it is, such moments as this are too few, it's all up to you....
PAIGE: Good night, Fandom.
DRAKE: Spoilsport.
