Fandom Radio :: Friday, June 13th.
Good evening, fellow Fandomites! It's Friday the Thirteenth here on WTFH Radio, and I'm Turtle Wexler, bringing you all the news that's fit to broadcast and wondering how the heck this day got its bad reputation. I don't know about you guys, but it's been a great day for me! My boyfriend's not breaking up with me! Bad luck, my nice arse. And I can say it's nice, because Jeff told me so.
Anyway, I'm sure none of you need to hear that much about my arse; I don't think Jeff would like you all hearing about it, anyway, so, onto the news!
SCHOOLNESS
Dean Jones has a bad case of the Monda-- Oh, good Lord, this squirrel almost got me to say 'bad case of the Monda--' Crap, I almost said it again. Anyway, not the best day for the Dean during her office hours. I hope she stayed away from everyone's permanent records. Also there's a black kitten at the office; I hope it crossed the moose's path.
DORMISH
In what might soon cease to be the coolest room ever, my roommate Ella works on responding to a letter she received. And then Ino is mad about...something, which I'm pretty sure isn't really news, but, really, it doesn't exactly seem news that Gwen plays computer games or that Adah is reading Poe, except that she's reading it by candlelight, because, apparently, she forgot that she's in the twenty first century. It is news that Jamie is having an in-room date with Temari, if only because it should be noted that he's still actually alive and it's definitely news that JEFF AND ME ARE NOT BROKEN UP! YAAAAY! That, by the way, is the best news ever. It's all downhill from here. Because you can't get better than that.
Lois was watching some movie about some guy getting his elephant, or something, in what might soon become the new best common room. Ned wants to know what's so great about that elephant. I'm more along the lines of wondering how a guy loses an elephant. They're not exactly little, you know. Then they talk about Lois' good traits and how Ned is nice. Of course he is. He makes pies. Dick -- the new one, not that other one -- also came by and decides that the elephant kung fu movie equals awesomeness. Him and Lois get to talking about auto mechanics class because, hey, when I think kung fu elephants, I think cars, too. They also talk about being nice and kind. If the fifth floor common room is usually this feel-good, I might have to put that in my cons list for whether or not to move in with Jeff...
Unless, next time, Ned brings pies.
TOWN PLACE
Out and about town today, the Captain got some good mail. Oooh, like tax refund checks? Miss Robin-not-a-Frog complains about how twenty-eight is way too young to be sitting around being a homebody with Constable Fraser. If twenty-eight is too young, then sixteen definitely is, too, so there's another con to moving. Drat. Mister Kurogane is busy not working and reading the paper at Cafe Fina; I can find this acceptable if the paper he was reading was the good old Wall Street Journal. Sora was keeping all the merchandise good and organized at Turtle & Canary; atta boy, Sora! Keep up the great work! Although, of course, one couldn't expect anything less from a Turtle & Canary employee! Jen had to seriously chug some water at Pizza Planet; that reminds me of this one time when I loosened the cap on one of those red pepper shakers at pizza places? And my dad went to use it and got an avalance of it on his pizza? Oh, man. Priceless, even if him and me were the only ones who found it funny. Meanwhile, Liir was reading at Book Haven which seems quite proper and appropriate. So is Chad listening to music at Groovy Tunes. Hinata visited him, awww! Just don't ever hire him to do anything for you, Hinata. Big waste of money.
...And, why, yes, that was a bit of a pun, thank you for noticing. Meanwhile, my roommate-although-possibly-not-for-long Ella is apparently having some bad Friday the Thirteenth luck at Luke's Diner, and she better not bring that any of that back to the room because, right now, she is still my roommate. Agent Cooper came in to tout the importance of breakfast, but, as much as I respect the guy, I don't know if I can take much credit in his reasonings when his breakfast included three slices of pie. River is watching a spider at the Arms Hotel; oh, how productive. Miss Lieutenant Kerrigan wasn't happy at the Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center and, well, that's not news...Neither is Worf showing up to use the meditation room which I still think is kind of superfluous. I mean, if you're doing it right, you should be able to make any room a mediation room, right? Maybe I'm missing something. Like the fact that, apparently, you can spar in a meditation room, like Mister Deadpool and Mister Cable did. I think they might be missing what meditation means just a weeee tiny bit, which is worrisome, considering Mister Cable owns the place. Go figure. And my little sister Kaylee was being creative over at Stark Industries, which means I'll bet she came up with lots of cool robots and stuff. Or robot like things.
But not mummy things. Those are at Caritas, with Mister Bindo working the bar. Mister Rogers finds himself distracted by all the dead things and the impending dance-off, I'm sure, and Miss York chats about her business. I think I kind of like this Miss York lady. Especially since her business is not in the least bit a direct competition with mine. Agent Cooper showed up to offer her a drink. Which I might have said "awww" to if I didn't think he was only offering because he couldn't have one because there wasn't enough room after all that pie. And, as far as clinic news goes, Mister Igor has a bunch of copper wire during the day shift and Katara has a book during the evening.
The special eventy thing today was a trip to a volcano, which I went to, not only because volcanoes are cool, but also to be an intrepid reporter on such things. Since a volcano is really just a great big mountain with a hole in it, and Jeff didn't come because he gets nervous around things that could explode unexpectedly, I was able to take better notes this time. Kind of. Not much really happened. A bunch of people peered into it; no one fell in. That would have been news. There was also lots of food, and Amber and Romeo were talking about the volcano, I think. I didn't get close enough. It's harder to do that when you're not a wee tiny squirrel. Then there were these really cool firewalkers, which some people tried, but not me, because I like my feet, thanks. Mostly, though, everyone just hung out and enjoyed the volcano.
There was also another birthday party that I got invited to but couldn't go to because I was taking notes at the special event thingy. It was for Johnny Storm, so happy birthday, Johnny! You've got a gift certificate that I owe you! I hope everyone had fun mingling and eating cake and leaving presents and wishing you a happy birthday.
And that's all the notes for tonight, Fandomites! Here's to hoping that stocks stay up, up, up! Enjoy your weekends, don't forget to call your fathers on Sunday, or at least thank those in your life who have been father-like, tip your waitress, good night, and have a prosperous tomorrow!
Anyway, I'm sure none of you need to hear that much about my arse; I don't think Jeff would like you all hearing about it, anyway, so, onto the news!
