Fandom Radio, Tuesday, February 17th

Good morning, listeners; Cecil here, the day after the children have left us, like they always do sooner or later. By growing up, if they and we are lucky.

At the school today, classes continued as usual, with Classic Video Games playing Donkey Kong. Joker's child Shepard - oh, I never met them! I hope they were cute and as deadly as necessary! - asked Joker why the game is called that. No word yet on if he had an answer.

The other games class, It's All Fun and Games, did a ropes course - always something very useful if your partner is into that sort of thing. Cade offered to take his child Val out to lunch after class, and swore not to forget his wallet.

Advanced Criminal Justice talked about how to get around while crimefighting, which most involved leaping from rooftop to rooftop. Personally I find a car, bus, or even an ecologically sound bicycle is much more reliable, but to each their own.

Kitty brought her daughter Lexi to Self-Expression, where we got to have a dance party! Most of the students just stood there, which the squirrels note means they're no fun, and I think I have to agree with them on this one.

Will and Celia talked about Celia's daughter Margaret - who really is pretty cute - and her mystery dad and the dance itself, and they ended up calling each other pretty. Awww!

Celia didn't want to dance, though, so I danced with Margaret. She said maybe I did have kids and they just hadn't found me yet, but if that's the case, they never did. Maybe next time.

Margaret told Eleanor she was tall, which to be fair I think she knew already, but it never hurts to make sure! Then Eleanor and Celia tried to get Margaret to give up information about her dad.

Dominic told Kitty that he's here instead of Bay, and that he was taking the class in his reality. He thought the switch was a weekend thing, but apparently not! So everybody say hi to Dominic, and make him welcome.

Also, Paige held office hours, without children.

In the dorms, Isabelle and Yukon hung out in the third floor common room with talking and baked goods. Beatrice wanted a pastry, but Yukon yelled at her to say please, which she did. Alana came by to find Beatrice, and she and Isabelle realized the girls both have Raleigh for a dad, which apparently the girls weren't happy about.

Flick came by looking for food, and Yukon told him to ask nicely, too, which led to him finding out that Isabelle's kid got all her attitude. Gabe advised Flick to avoid Isabelle's cooking, and then they compared their worlds.

Celia warned Margaret to ask before taking food, so at least Yukon wasn't the only one with manners, and then she and Isabelle talked about their kids' fathers, while the girls talked about powers and fighting demons. I hope they got some really good pointers!

Gabe offered to pick up more baked goods from a place in Brooklyn, and materialized it just for Yukon. He also told Isabellehe's Alec's kid.

Elsewhere, Will came back from a run and read a book, and Flick brought dinner to his room and read a book, at least till Isabelle came by for a hookup. Did they have kids this weekend? Or are they trying to get a headstart on more?

*chittering*

Huh. Anyway, after the kids left, Celia went to the 3rd floor common room for ice cream and TV. Jessica was there, and Celia asked how she was, and then they talked about how teenagers are supposed to be all angst-ridden, and Celia wondered if it was normal to feel like she did after the kids left.

Joker also dropped by. He tried to commiserate about kids with Jessica, but she didn't have any, so instead he wondered how she got so lucky. Nice save! He hoped the ice cream was for sharing, which it doesn't say if it was, and then Celia swapped stories about her hyper kid for stories about Joker's robot kid.

Eleanor checked to see how Celia was doing with Margaret gone, and they talked about Celia's possible future and the possibility (or not) or Eleanor having kids. Joker asked Eleanor about her weekend, which apparently did not involve children, and told her about his robot kid and and insisted he couldn't get a robot pregnant. Well, that kid came from somewhere, Joker!

Meanwhile, in town, Mercy was at the Groovy Tunes, listening to Disney songs in honor of her inner child, in lieu of having children visit herself.

At Luke's, Gert's son Luca got to pick the specials and the radio station.

Cade brought Val in to Stark Enterprises, and then just let him wander around, provided he didn't break anything.

At Caritas, Kenzi had a sign up to say that while they don't card, they still wouldn't give booze to the really small kids.

Oh! And then we talked about this idea she had for an alcohol delivery service! I mean, there's all sorts of delivery food, right? But no delivery drinks! It's got to be an untapped market.

*loud chittering agreement*

Hey, Kenzi - we have customers! How much rum can we get?

Well, okay, that's for later. Unless we buy radio time, of course. Back in the news, we also talked about how kids are supposed to be raised. I'm still pretty sure they're self-sufficient, but it's hard to be sure. Oh, and Ellie had a staring contest with Tino.

Jack had his triplets helping him out at the Devil's Nest. Allie wondered if they were new staff, and Jack assured her that no, it's just the weekend where the kids from alternate versions of ourselves randomly show up. Then he wondered why the girls missed last year, which apparently was due to a broken heart. Awww.

Cadence and Annika talked about what it might take to let Cadence mix some music instead of the DJ, and Cadence - hi, Cadence! - seems pretty nifty, and with a name like Cadence, I'm betting it would be great!

Collin showed up to dance, and Amélie came by to talk about all the trouble her parents don't want her getting into. Cadence was really glad to see Collin, and wandered over to say hi, too.

And Eric was baring his teeth over the triplets taking turns stealing his chair, and talked to Amélie about her father's opinions on new vampires being idiots.

At the Arms Hotel, Jono was hanging out in the Gourmet Suite before the kids had to go
back to their homes. Pluma called him powerful, and told him about how it took her years to actually have a shape. Which if you haven't had one before can be really hard, I'm told, so well done, Pluma!

Hannibal also sat around with Jono, Angela, and Audric, and told them that any food you need to drown with alcohol isn't real food. Well then how do you explain wine sauce? Honestly. And Angela complimented JJ, who was sitting on the floor, on his guitar playing.

And then, at sundown, a portal opened in the park to take the children - and according to the squirrels "ALL OUR JOY" - away.

Some folks made small talk before it was time to see the children off. Natalie and Jim reassured their son Nolan he wouldn't be in trouble for going missing this weekend. Isabelle and Raleigh saw off their daughter, Yukon, and agreed it was really nice to meet her. Mindy and Doctor McCoy told their daughter, Jayden, that she was probably going to be grounded for a week for going missing for the weekend. Which I suppose goes to show it's better to be Natalie and Jim's child, really.

Stiles and Derek hugged their daughter, Claudia, and the squirrels note that these were very manly hugs. They also made her promised to tell her actual fathers back home that she was sorry for worrying them.

Margaret refused to the end to tell her mother, Celia, who her father was, because it would ruin the future if she did, and anyway she didn't know it. Which is really the best reason of them all!

Kitty was realistic about her daughter Petra's chances of staying out of trouble, which are apparently none. And Clint and Kitty were sad to see their daughter Lexi go, but promised her that she was always welcome to come back for a visit.

Alana and Raleigh tried to figure out just how much their daughter Beatrice's versions of them would freak out if they tried to keep her by hiding her under the bed. The squirrels are guessing it's probably a lot, so I hope they didn't try.

Gert and Luca met Dom at the park and they talked about the ice cream Luca saw in Priestly's freezer. Isn't that the usual place for it?

Joker couldn't get rid of his boy, Shepard, quickly enough. I hope he managed it before there was permanent damage! And Warren and Rinoa's daughter Pluma was very proud that she didn't light anything on fire or eat any flamingos this weekend. Well done, Pluma! And I and Foucault thank you profusely.

And then the children made their way through the portal, presumably back to the unknown and unknowable alternate futures from which they all hail.

I hope everybody had a really great weekend, and that everybody that had children got to spend some real quality time with them. Remember, children grow up fast, especially if they're from a different timeline, so it pays to cherish these times that you have with them. Before you know it, they'll be growing up and getting thankless jobs, or saving the world, or killing people for the fun of it. Enjoy it while you can! And until next time, I leave you with the weather.
