Fandom Radio, Sunday, December 22nd
Good morning, Fandom. Cecil here. I'm looking at these notes, and wow - it looks like love was in the air yesterday! Or maybe that was just the mistletoe.
Say, if anybody has any left, let me know? I might want to bring some home.
In the dorms yesterday, Gert was caught by the mistletoe in the second floor common room, but Jessica stopped by and told her how to get free, then demonstrated with a kiss. How sweet!
In room 303, Liara was reading when Karolina stopped by to tell her she was leaving for the holiday. They got covered in mistletoe, too, but they managed to kiss it all away. And - oh, look! - the squirrels are all waving tiny, glittery flags! I think they approve.
Flick was trapped by mistletoe in room 508 all day, with nobody to kiss him. Awww.
In room 318, Peter was packing and answering email all afternoon, and apparently missed the mistletoe.
In the stairwell, Sparkle didn't miss the mistletoe, and got completely trapped by it! But Alec found him. He thought of cutting him free, but in the end they settled on kissing to see if that would work. And it did! So they did more of it.
Listeners, I have to say I'm just so happy about all this kissing! Everybody should have a chance to get together with their loved ones over the holidays. Or if not that, at least their affectionately regarded and similarly inclined ones.
Or maybe just their awkward, complaining, but not minding ones. As Jackson and Stiles discovered in room 222 yesterday afternoon when Jackson got attacked by mistletoe and Stiles came by to warn him a little too late. But they were able to get it to go away with a kiss.
In room 201 yesterday afternoon, Raleigh was reading e-mail and hanging around, when Mira stopped in to see if the mistletoe was poisonous. It definitely is! Just like life and the romance it inspires. *happy sigh* Anyway, she talked about how dangerous her life is with Raleigh in it, but really, isn't life always dangerous? Then she kissed him on the cheek, and they realized how to make the mistletoe go away.
Isabelle also stopped in, talked about kissing people in town, teased Raleigh about his brother, and offered to help with his remaining mistletoe problem.
Alana needed help with her own mistletoe, and stopped by for help. Raleigh told her how to get rid of it, then they did, and they talked about Christmas plans, too.
In the fifth floor common room yesterday evening, Jessica was shamelessly abusing her superpowers - neat! - to keep the mistletoe away as she ate a veggie pizza. Aww, but really now - you shouldn't use superpowers as an excuse to avoid intimacy. Though as a means of not eating poisonous plants, I would have to approve. Sia came in to comment on the decorating scheme, and Jessica offered her pizza.
Elsewhere on the island, Riley was stuck outside yesterday at his apartment, due to being strung up by the mistletoe. Kitty was also struck by it, but she let it phase right through her. Aww, but imagine how disappointed Clint must have been!
At Doomhaus yesterday, Doom announced that he was done with Fandom. Loudly. Like a speech. The squirrels are holding up signs, and it looks like he scores a 7 out of 10, which is not bad!
Meanwhile, at the Creepy Mansion, Mike was working on his coffee table and staying out of all the goings-on in town. Derek showed up to warn him how bad mistletoe was, and then got attacked by it. Luckily, before he could suggest cutting off any limbs, Mike tried kissing him and it worked. The squirrels would like to state that they know of no video being taken, but that if anyone should happen to have any, they'd appreciate seeing it.
Stiles showed up to complain about having to kiss Jackson, but Derek still wouldn't give him any alcohol and made him cocoa instead. I can, sadly, relate. Then they also talked about Christmas plans.
Jack stopped in, too, to complain about having been a terrier. He got hit with mistletoe, too, but Derek kissed him better. And again, the squirrels would love to have video, but nobody was taking any. Sorry, guys! And then they discussed Christmas plans, too.
And in other places, Batman was patrolling the park in the morning, covered in mistletoe. April mocked him for getting so much mistletoe on him, and tried to convince him to kiss her dog to make it go away. But then she got attacked by mistletoe herself and ended up getting a kiss from Batman to get rid of it. And the squirrels say go, April!
Dean was at Luke's, being very annoyed and trying to get the mistletoe to go away on his own. Kaidan came by and offered to cut it off, but Dean said he'd already tried that, and setting it on fire. Kaidan got attacked by mistletoe too - the squirrels point out it was "ON HIS BUTT LOL", and that's in all capitals and a really funny-looking script - and he and Dean both ended up covered in it. But they didn't kiss, and the squirrels are sighing about it. And I must say I agree.
At the Gig, Dani was flirting with the firemen across the way, because that mistletoe wasn't going to get rid of itself! Apparently that didn't work, but then Bruce came by, saw the problem, and offered to kiss her like - the squirrels say - the kind, giving gentleman that he is. Dani agreed readily and the squirrels say that proves her intelligence.
Meanwhile, April left Tino covered in mistletoe at Caritas and had no qualms about it, because the alternative was - and I'm quoting - "ew ew ew".
The female Jack came by for drink of something green, so April gave her some absinthe. Then they debated whether it tasted like licorice or nail polish remover.
And it looks like that's all the news from yesterday, listeners. I hope everybody that wanted kissing got it, and those of you who didn't are now free from poisonous plants. I hope everybody that wants it has a great holiday - or just a good week - and until next week, I leave you with the weather!
