Fandom Radio, Saturday, July 13
Sam: Goodness. That's quite a stack of notes. I take it this had to do with all the singing?
Kaidan: … I figure. Uh. I'm kind of glad I had too much work to head out.
Sam: I was out for a moment, but it didn't hit me. Fortunately. No one wants to hear my singing voice, sir.
Kaidan: Well, I kind of do now...
SCHOOL
Sam: The archery class had introductions before segueing into practice for a bit. Batman's course on sidekicks was led by the TA, Stephanie, for the day, and they had introductions as well. The same went for Monsters and Humans, while in Detecting 101, students introduced themselves while wearing costumes.
Kaidan: Professor Lecter wasn't really happy about the singing situation - I get that. Mordin Solus came in to check on him and his Bach, which... resulted in a lot of back and forth singing. Sometimes I just feel like I have to apologize for the island or something.
DORMS
Kaidan: Out in the dorms, Peter was kind of annoyed that he burst out singing. I'm thinking this is going to be a theme today. He tried to get Natalie to leave him alone, but it didn't work so well. Gert hid in her room to avoid singing to anyone about her life, which Natalie also tried. Unfortunately, she had a visitor called Jim...
Bay has to deal with a bad call from home as well as the singing. No. Seriously. I'm sorry about that. Gert apparently left her room in order to check in on her, and they commiserate about the whole... the everything. Sholeh is singing too, but she manages to facepalm at the same time, which... well, I guess you could smother it that way. Evan stops by with some books - no idea how much singing that involved.
Raven's having a hard time about what happened in class. Uh... sorry. … I really don't know why I'm apologizing this much today. This isn't even my class.
Sam: If it's any consolation, Commander, I feel confident that most of the students have dealt with trickier island problems than spontaneous musical numbers. And there has to be at least someone who enjoyed the opportunity to sing their feelings.
Kaidan: Must be crazy if they did. But moving on-- Professor Dracula turns up and they have a long discussion about their differences and the way they can both change their appearances. Huh. Elsewhere, Emma Swan sings over a baby blanket. I'm just not gonna pry.
TOWN
Kaidan: In town, Stiles and Derek ran around the preserve singing at each other and talking about Sharknado. Yeah. Let's just leave that one right where it is.
Sam: Shark... what?
Kaidan: Sharknado.
Sam: I... I won't even ask.
Kaidan: You figured out something was going on, but you apparently... didn't figure out Éponine was singing at your window. You got an admirer, Specialist?
Sam: ...Oh. I -- didn't know that I had. I'm sure she was just detained on her mail route.
Kaidan: Uh huh.
Kaidan: Anyway, April's on the roof with her drum set really going to town on this whole singing thing. She's got the pets over, too. Can they even handle that kind of noise--? And then I find out what Jack was doing that was so loud. Singing. Emma showed up to figure out the food situation but of course that led to *sigh* more singing.
Sam: Alec was humming rather than singing at Freedom Arms, for which I'm certain he was grateful. Priestly was similarly song-free at Luke's, though Allie had no such luck at the Devil's Nest. And at Galactica Point, Liara was singing about being an asari... wait. I didn't know Liara was a common asari name. Is that--?
Kaidan: Yep. But a, uh. Younger version.
Sam: ...Oh. That's... something.
Kaidan: Yeah. Yeah, it's definitely something.
Sam: In the park, Jackson was singing about his past and was joined by Derek and Jack for a group number. On the beach, Ender and Peter shared a duet, which may have been one of the songs that Ben helped Ender analyze when he stopped by a bit later to discuss the musical trend. I'm becoming increasingly more relieved that I was unaffected.
Kaidan: Good work ducking out on that one, Specialist.
Sam: Same to you, sir. Finally, at Caritas, Mike sang about his own, er, sex appeal, and put up a sign announcing that anyone else who ordered their drinks in song form could get half price off their drinks. Atton took him up on that -- though he did seem averse enough to the singing to suggest that everyone walk around wearing gags for the day. Oh my. And while Dean enjoyed Atton's number, he didn't seem interested in emulating it himself. I can't say that I blame him.
Kaidan: Not at all, actually. But at least we've got that behind us.
Kaidan: … I figure. Uh. I'm kind of glad I had too much work to head out.
