Fandom Radio, Sunday, February 17

Morning, Fandom! And... possibly other places! I was just fiddling with the broadcast range controls, so it's possible we also broadcast to Denver now. If that's the case, hi, Denvernians. I'm Topher. I'm pretty awesome.

So literally nothing happened that wasn't in town yesterday, not sure why. Dani was chilling with horses at the place where the horses live, Onion and Victor went on a date and she gave him an iPad -- huh, I thought he already would have had one of those -- and then someone named Brice hosted speed-dating at Caritas, complete with people talking beforehand like as if fifteen whole minutes of socializing isn't more than enough. Emily didn't want to try it, but Bruce told her she could maybe pick up someone who got rejected, which seems like a pretty unfortunate crop of people to choose from. Derek and Mike apparently argued over whether Mike was allowed to bring people home -- can you guys pass me that rum? Thanks. Kitty I guess banned Derek from participating in the dates and made him sit at the bar, which seems rude, but so is Derek. Then there were five rounds of dates, and after that, it looks like everyone forgot how to use a door because way more people showed up for April's Caritas shift than I feel her personality really merits.

Sparkle was there to give Bay a lesson on beer, which was apparently very helpful because Bay didn't know any beer. Hey, roomie, if you want to come out drinking with me and Victor and Billy and whoever next time, and you aren't theoretically opposed to buying pet livestock, you can. Then Bay and the sunny-dispositioned bartender discussed how Bay is new, which I can vouch for, and the fact that drinking underage is better than switching genders temporarily. Which is a fact. Obviously. Emily whined at Bay about how she's sad she didn't do the dates. Life is hard.

April gave Jack a free cocktail and they made plans to hang out this week before Jack proceeded to talk to Derek about some new jewelry he got. Then Navaan hit on Jack but he turned her down on account of girlfriend. Logical. And Allie came by to thank Jack for the flowers he apparently sent her. So maybe she's the girlfriend. After that, April and Kaidan complained at each other about how they don't understand speed-dating, or maybe Facebook. There was complaining.

Bruce congratulated April on participating in fifteen minutes of forced socializing before going to do her work of pouring liquids into receptacles that she only has to do one night a week. I can see how that would be a challenge. Then he spoke to Navaan about her hobbies of sex and murder, but I guess the conversation didn't lead to either of those because afterwards, he hit on Emily and I guess they went to have sex or something.

*glass clinking*

Right. Okay. Jessica lectured Loki about the ethics of signing someone up for dates against their will, but she did admit that he probably would have done it anyway even if he'd asked beforehand and she had said no. Then he told her she has to act more like one of those bitchy girls in cheerleading movies. Please don't, Jessica. Those girls, uh, freak me out. Then Emily asked Jessica to please be in a fake relationship with her, but apparently Jessica passed on that. Sorry, Loki.

Derek stole Stiles' beer, because maybe it was really good or something, and then they talked to each other about not giving each other jewelry anymore. But April replaced Stiles' beer after it was stolen, so. Whoo. Or something.

Emily ordered a drink that seemed complicated, so April pawned her off to the other bartender. And in the lounge, Éponine was creeping on people, possibly Derek-style, when April came over to take a break on the couch and offer her some possibly free beer. Seriously, it doesn't sound like this bar made a lot of money last night. And Allie brought in an Irish coffee and talked to Éponine about speed-dating. This was apparently confusing news.

Finally, Jono and Allie talked about how their dates went and how Navaan probably isn't a doctor-- she's a doctor? There's a doctor on this island? Wow, no offense to everyone else in town, but I didn't know there were educated people who lived here. Doctor Navaan then apparently hit on Jono and they went to sleep together or whatever, but Jono came back later to talk to April, who was drunk and rambling about mango, and he took her home. Aw.
